Re-heat setting
The re-heat setting allows you to re-heat bread without browning or toasting. Simply turn the
control dial to the ‘re-heat’ setting and follow the instructions for use above.
Bagel setting
The bagel setting adds extra time to the toasting cycle to allow for thicker breads and bagels.
Simply turn the control dials to the ‘bagel’ setting and follow the instructions for use.
Toasting Techniques
Toasting is a combination of cooking and drying of the bread, therefore, differences in moisture
level from one bread to another can result in varying toasting times.
For slightly dry bread, use a lower setting than you normally would.
For very fresh bread or whole wheat bread, use a higher setting than normal.
Thickly cut pieces of bread (including bagels) will take longer to toast, since more moisture
must be evaporated from the bread before toasting.
Before toasting bagels, slice each bagel into two equal halves.
When toasting raisin or other fruit breads, remove any loose raisins, etc, from the surface of
the bread before placing into the toaster. This will help prevent fruit pieces from falling into
the toaster or sticking to the centering guide wires in the slot.

8
Single Slice Toasting:
If you are toasting a single slice of bread, set the dial setting at a lower level that you normally
would. The toaster is designed to heat the whole toasting chamber for two slices. By lowering
the heat for a single slice, you will not over-toast.
Toaster Pastries:
Ta ke extra care with toaster pastries; the filling can become very hot, long before the surface of
the pastry becomes browned. Never leave toaster pastries unattended while toasting or
warming. When toasting pastries, follow manufacturers instructions for use.
Crumb Tray
The toaster is equipped with a pop-out CD style crumb tray.We recommend that the crumb tray
is emptied on a regular basis.
To empty, simply push and release crumb tray and it will pop-open. Slide out the crumb tray,
discard the crumbs and replace the crumb tray. Never operate the toaster without the crumb tray
in place.

Never insert any hard, sharp or metal instruments into the slots as this could cause damage
to the toaster and cause a safety hazard.
After use, always unplug your toaster from the mains outlet.
