When using an electrical appliance, basic
safety precautions should always be taken,
including the following:

1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.

2. Unplug from outlet when not in use and

before cleaning. Allow to cool before
putting on or taking off parts, and
before cleaning appliance.

3. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handle.

4. To protect against fire, electric shock and
injury to persons, DO NOT IMMERSE
CORD, PLUG OR BASE UNIT in water or
other liquids.

5. Close supervision is necessary when any
appliance is used by or near children.

6. Do not operate any appliance with
a damaged cord or plug, or after the
appliance has malfunctioned or has
been damaged in any manner. Return
appliance to the nearest Cuisinart
Authorised Service Facility for
examination, repair or adjustment.

7. The use of accessory attachments not
recommended by Cuisinart may result in
fire, electric shock or injury to persons.

8. Do not use outdoors.

9. Do not let power cord hang over edge of
table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.

10. Do not place on or near a hot gas or
electric burner, or in a heated oven.

11. Always put kettle on base, then plug
cord into wall outlet. To disconnect, push
button to Off, then remove plug from wall
outlet.

12. Do not use appliance for other than
intended use.

13. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed
during the heating cycle.

14. Lock lid securely onto kettle before
serving any beverages.

15. The kettle is designed for use only with
the power base provided. It must never
be used on a range top.

16. This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities,
or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the
appliance by a person responsible for
their safety.

17. This appliance is intended to be used in
household and similar applications such
as:

- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and

others working environments;

- farm houses;

- by clients in hotels, motels and other

residential type environments;

- bed and breakfast type environments.

CAUTION: Do not operate the kettle

on an inclined plane. Do not operate
the kettle unless the element is fully
immersed. Do not move while the kettle is
switched on.

CAUTION: To prevent damage to the

appliance do not use alkaline cleaning
agents when cleaning, use a soft cloth
and a mild detergent.

UNPACKING
INSTRUCTIONS

1. Place the box on a large, sturdy, flat
surface.

2. Remove the instruction booklet and any
other literature and the upper insert.

3. Lift the kettle from the box and remove
the polybag.

4. Lift the power base from the box and
remove the polybag.

We suggest you save all packing materials in
the event that future shipping of the machine
is needed. Keep all plastic bags away from
children.

INTRODUCTION

You r n ew Cu i sinart® Cordless Electric Kettle
features the latest technology to make boiling
water quicker and easier than ever. The elegant
double-wall kettle makes it the perfect addition
to any table.

This kettle is exceptionally simple to operate,
but as with every new product, we suggest
you read the following information carefully to
familiarise yourself with the Kettle’s use and
care.

BEFORE USING FOR THE
FIRST TIME

Before using your Cuisinart® Cordless
Electric Kettle for the first time, we
recommend rinsing the kettle with water to
remove any dust or residue remaining from
the manufacturing process.

OPERATION

1. Open the Lid.

Push the release button on the handle
and the lid opens. (See Fig. 1.)

2. Fill the Kettle.

Fill the kettle with as much fresh, cold
water as you will need. The maximum
water level is indicated near the handle
and is marked by the word “MAX”. (See
Fig. 2.) Please understand that if the kettle
is overfilled, it may overflow during the
boiling.

3. Close the Lid.

Position kettle with spout facing away
from you. Press gently toward you to
close.

4. Place Kettle on Power Base.

Place the kettle on the power base so the
element on the bottom of the kettle sits
securely on the power base.

5. Power “ON”.

Activate the power “ON” switch by gently
lifting DOWN until a “click” is heard (See
Fig. 3.) When the water has boiled, the
kettle will automatically switch “OFF”.

NOTE:

any time before the water boils, simply
by lifting the kettle off the base.

6. Pour and Serve.

Pour water out slowly. Return kettle to
base after pouring. If you wish to reboil
the water, you must lift DOWN the power
“ON” button again.

HELPFUL HINTS

• Always use fresh water in the kettle.

• If the kettle is accidentally switched on
without a sufficient water level, a boil­dry safety mechanism will automatically
switch the kettle off.

• The lid should always be securely in
place while heating water.

CLEANING AND
MAINTENANCE

• The kettle should always be emptied before
cleaning and storage.

• Unplug your kettle and allow it to cool
completely.

• Wipe the kettle and base with a soft, damp
cloth.

• The filter can be removed by grasping it and
pulling upward. Run under hot water and
rub with a clean cloth or brush. Replace the
filter; it will snap back in place.

• Do not use abrasive cleansers or scouring
agents of any kind on the interior or exterior
of the kettle.

• Never immerse kettle or power base in

water.

Maintenance: Any other servicing should

be performed by an Authorised service
representative.

DECALCIFICATION

Decalcification refers to removing mineral
deposits, which may form in the interior of the
kettle and may result in discoloration.

To get the best performance from your kettle,
decalcify it from time to time. Frequency will
depend on the hardness of your water and
how often you use the unit.

We suggest using a kettle descaler in order to
dissolve these deposits or scale. Follow the
directions on the descaler package.

Alternatively, fill the kettle with enough white
vinegar to cover the bottom by about 1cm.
Heat the vinegar to a boil. Repeat this with
cooled vinegar until all deposits are removed.
When complete, empty the kettle and rinse
with clean water.

LIMITED 3 YEAR
WARRANTY

This Cuisinart® appliance has a limited warranty
for domestic consumer use for 3 years.

The warranty covers defects under normal
use from date of purchase and ceases to
be valid in the event of alteration or repair by
unAuthorised persons.

If the appliance does not perform satisfactorily

due to defects of material or manufacture,
please contact local distributor for
maintenance service.

This warranty is available to consumers only.
You are a consumer if you own a Cuisinart
Cordless Electric Kettle that was purchased at
retail for personal, family or household use.

We warrant that your Cuisinart Cordless Electric
Kettle will be free of defects in materials and
workmanship under normal home use for 3 years
from the date of original purchase. Consumer
must maintain the original proof of purchase in
order to obtain the warranty benefits. In the event
that you do not have proof of purchase date, the
purchase date for purposes of this warranty will
be the date of manufacture.

If your Cuisinart Cordless Electric Kettle
should prove to be defective within the
warranty period, we will repair it, or if we think
necessary, replace it. To obtain warranty
service, simply call our toll-free number
1800 808 971 (AUST), 0800 435 000 (NZ), for
additional information from our Consumer
Service Representatives.

NOTE: For added protection and secure
handling of any Cuisinart product that is being
returned, we recommend you use a traceable,
insured delivery service. Cuisinart cannot be
held responsible for in-transit damage or for
packages that are not delivered to us. Lost
and/or damaged products are not covered
under warranty. Please be sure to include
your return address, daytime phone number,
description of the product defect, product
model number (located on bottom of product),
original date of purchase, and any other
information pertinent to the product’s return.

BEFORE RETURNING YOUR CUISINART
PRODUCT

If you are experiencing problems with your
Cuisinart product, we suggest that you call
our Cuisinart Service Centre at 1800 808 971
(AUST), 0800 435 000 (NZ), before returning
the product for service. If servicing is needed,
a Representative can confirm whether the
product is under warranty and direct you to
the nearest service location.

Your Cuisinart Cordless Electric Kettle
has been manufactured to the strictest
specifications. This warranty does not cover
any damage caused by accident, misuse,
shipment or other than ordinary household
use. This warranty excludes all incidental or
consequential damages.
