The VP500 should have Preventive Maintenance on an annual basis.
PROCEDURE:
1. Inspect pump for physical damage.
2. Turn the pump on (Operating Instructions at the end of this PM Procedure). You get a GREEN POWER LIGHT.
3. Connect the tubing without garments. You should get a Low Pressure (LP) and audible beeping. Note: It takes three minutes to alarm.
4. With the tubing connected, place an inflation bag with a tap for a certified manometer (pressure gauge) in the line with the garments (if testing only one side press the single garment button). The inflation bag allows the pressure to stabilize for reading. The pressure should be 40 mmHg +/10%
5. Follow the same procedure with the 80 mmHg pressure selection.
6. Make sure the pump cycles both ports every minute.
*If necessary, apply a thin layer of high vacuum grease to turn valve plates.
Cleaning instructions can be found below under SYSTEM MAINTENANCE.
