Application:
WLRS and WLRD series wiring device covers are designed to meet the total NECode requirements for wet locations – Article 410-57:
‘‘A receptacle installed in a wet location where the product intended to be plugged into it is not attended while in use shall have an enclosure that is weatherproof with the attachment plug cap inserted or
removed.’’ WLRS and WLRD series covers are suitable for use in wet and damp locations:
ɀ wherever portable equipment is required ɀ as general purpose utility receptacle covers ɀ for industrial, commercial or residential use ɀ in areas where electrical requirements do
not exceed medium duty ratings ɀ to mount FS and FD single-gang or multi­gang boxes having individual cover openings (see Sect. 3F for listings) ɀ to mount on most flush device boxes (see Accessories)

WLRS and WLRD covers:
ɀ self closing spring door assures protection of wiring device at all times, in wet and damp locations ɀ one piece EPDM gasket provides environmental protection of wiring device at all times ɀ EPDM gasketing material offers excellent resistance to ozone, weather and temperature extremes of –50°F to 260°F ɀ die cast, copper-free aluminum construction with aluminum lacquer finish provides maximum corrosion resistance ɀ positive ground path ensured for all exposed metal parts
NEMA configuration receptacle interiors:
ɀ comply with NEMA Standards WD-1 and WD-5 ɀ grounded through an extra contact in all types except 3-phase applications; self grounded in duplex variety
ɀ back and side wired ɀ offered in single and duplex configurations
for use with standard plugs ɀ specification grade

Application:
WP plugs and DS receptacles are used: ɀ wherever dust, dirt, moisture and corrosion are a problem ɀ outdoors or in locations where frequent washdowns occur, as in dairies and food processing plants
Features:
DS receptacle housings are used: ɀ with FS and FD cast device boxes, either surface mounted or installed flush in a wall ɀ with single gang, two gang tandem and multiple gang boxes having individual cover openings ɀ a threaded cap which effectively seals housing when not in use WP plugs include: ɀ a molded Neoprene hood with integral sleeve to seal the cord entrance ɀ an aluminum ring which clamps the hood to receptacle housing face, to complete watertight seal when plug is in use
