Crestron DM-MDA-64-PWS, DM-MDA-128-PWS Instructions Manual

DigitalMedia™ Power Supplies: DM-MDA-64-PWS/DM-MDA-128-PWS

Two redundant DM-MDA-64-PWS power supplies occupy the DM-MD64X64. Three redundant DM-MDA-128-PWS power supplies occupy the DM-MD128X128. This document provides instructions for replacing a failed power supply.
CAUTION: Before removing a power supply from a power supply slot, ac power must be removed from the power supply to prevent damage to the equipment. In addition, the replacement power supply must be installed before power is reconnected.
CAUTION: The power supplies are static sensitive. Standard electrostatic discharge precautions should be followed when handling the power supplies.
NOTE: Although the DigitalMedia™ switcher continues to operate if a single power supply fails, it is recommended that the failed power supply be replaced as soon as possible to restore power supply redundancy.
NOTE: The power supplies are hot swappable; therefore, a failed power supply can be replaced without shutting down the DigitalMedia switcher.
To replace a power supply:
1. Disconnect the power cord connected to the power inlet of the power supply being replaced.
2. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, loosen—but do not remove—the Phillips head screw that holds the power supply retainer plate in place.
3. Do either of the following:
For the DM-MDA-64-PWS, slide the retainer
plate upward until it clears the power supply, and then tighten the screw just enough to hold the retainer plate in place.
For the DM-MDA-128-PWS, slide the
retainer plate sideways until it clears the power supply.
4. Do either of the following:
For the DM-MDA-64-PWS, lift up the locking
tab of the power supply, and then use the power supply handle to pull the power supply out of the slot.
For the DM-MDA-128-PWS, use the power
supply handle to pull the power supply out of the slot.
5. Insert the replacement power supply into the slot until the power supply is fully seated.
6. (DM-MDA-64-PWS only) Loosen the screw that holds the retainer plate in place.
7. Slide the retainer plate back in place, and then tighten the screw just enough to hold the plate in place—do not overtighten the screw.
8. Connect the power cord to the power inlet of the power supply.
