Current Sensor for CNTV: CNTV-CS
Description
Functional Description
The Current Sensor for CNTV, CNTV-CS, senses whether a single television set (9”
color or larger) is OFF or ON. The CNTV-CS senses the current used by the
television that is connected to it, a large current indicates that the set is ON and the
absence of (or very low) current indicates that the set is OFF. The current threshold
is non-adjustable. If the CNTV-CS detects that the set is ON, the CNTV (or other
Cresnet processor) will not attempt to turn it ON which would inadvertently turn the
set OFF.
The electronic relay of the CNTV-CS is internally protected against polarity reversal
and does not generate any voltage across the terminals. The terminals represent a
contact closure, the digital signals are high for open or low for closed. The digital
connector provides the current sensor status to the CNTV-CS.

Digital Connector Wiring
The digital connector of the CNTV-CS provides the current sense to the CNTV (or other Cresnet processor). The black wire of the CNTV-CS cord must be attached to pin-5 (G or ground pin) of the connector and the black with white-stripe wire may be attached to either pin-1, 2, 3, or 4. The CNTV must be programmed to recognize which pin is used.
