Installation
1
Crestron® FSDI8-W speakers are 8-Ohm, full-range, drop-in ceiling speakers that allow for fast and easy installation in a typical classroom or presentation space.
Constructed of industrial grade steel, the speakers are fully enclosed, including the back can, with a finely perforated grill over the entire front of the speaker.
The FSDI8-W fits perfectly into place in a 2’ X 2’ (0.61 m X 0.61 m) ceiling grid, and can also be installed in a 2’ X 4’ (0.61 m X 1.22 m) grid by making a single cut to the ceiling tile and installing the included support rail crossbar.
Installation consists of the following (refer to the illustration below):
1. Place the speaker into position in the grid. In a 2’ X 4’ grid, cut the ceiling tile in half (23-3/4” max), and install the included support rail.

3. Strip the ends of the speaker cable wire approximately 5/8 inch (15 mm) and twist the bared strands.
4. Remove the screws securing the cover on the back can, open the cover and remove the included wire nuts.
5. Following one of the two methods shown in the illustration, use the wire nuts to connect the speaker wires to the speaker cable wires, observing the proper polarity (+ to +, - to -).
6. Using the screws removed earlier, attach the cover to the back can.
