IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

Retain these instructions for future reference, read them carefully and note also the information given on the heater.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
WARNING - THE SURFACE OF THIS HEATER CAN BE HOT.

The surface temperatures of this heater are within the requirements of EN60335, the European Standard covering the safety
requirements of electric storage heating appliances, and momentary contact with any part of the heater should not cause injury.
However, in order to be effective, heaters of any type do get hot, especially around the air outlet grille.
Therefore, if aged or infirm persons, or young children, are likely to be left unsupervised in the vicinity of a heater precautions
should be taken to ensure that prolonged contact with the heater cannot occur. We recommend that a guard is fitted around the
heater, as is normal with some types of heating appliances in similar circumstances. A range of guards for Creda storage heaters

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or
lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision for instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

• DO NOT COVER THE SURFACES OF THE HEATER AND DO NOT OBSTRUCT AIR OUTLET GRILLES Surfaces of the heater

should not be covered or obstructed as this can cause excessive temperatures that can be hazardous and may cause safety cut­outs to operate. For example, do not put clothes, fabrics or any combustible materials on the heater or allow curtains to come
within 250mm (10”) of the top of the heater and 75mm (3”) of the ends of the heater, and do not allow furniture to be pushed
up against the heater.

• DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MOVE THE HEATER. YOUR STORAGE HEATER IS VERY HEAVY. For safety in use the heater must be

securely fixed to a sound wall and specialist advice must be sought before moving. If you are not happy that the heater has
been securely fixed, please inform your installer.

• DO NOT SIT OR STAND ON THE HEATER.

• DO NOT SPILL LIQUIDS ONTO THE APPLIANCE. IF YOU DO, SWITCH THE HEATER OFF AND GET A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN

TO CHECK IT.

• DO NOT POKE OBJECTS THROUGH THE GRILLE OR VENTILATION SLOTS.

• DO NOT USE POLISHES ON THE HEATER OR ON FURNITURE NEAR TO IT.

• The hot interior of the heater can produce paraffin smells from polish vapours which may last for a number of hours.

• DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE HEATER YOURSELF. In case of breakdown or other failure, switch off the heater at the wall

switch and consult your supplier, local electricity company or Creda Heating. Always ensure that the heater is switched off at
the wall switch and the fuse removed before any repair is carried out.

FIRST HEATING ON A NEW HEATER: The new heater will give off a smell. It is recommended the dispersion of this smell
should be accelerated by running the heater straight up to its maximum temperature, whatever the prevailing weather.
Set the Input control knob to the maximum setting of 6 and the Output control knob to the maximum setting of 6 and run the
heater like this for two nights. The instructions to the installer of your heater mentions this and he will probably set it for you. The
smell is normally harmless in a ventilated room and if possible, a window should be left open during the overnight charging
periods. Caged birds, young children and people with chest ailments are best kept out of the room during the first period.

USING YOUR HEATER: Your heater will be one of two types: either one with automatic control of the overnight charge or
alternatively, one on which you adjust this manually from time to time. If necessary, check which heater you have, by looking at the
model number located on the wall fixing angle. Heaters with model numbers 79341, 79351 or 79361 are automatic heaters,
all other heaters require manual adjustment. The heaters store heat overnight while the cost of Economy 7 electricity is cheaper
and discharge the heat gradually throughout the following day. They use no electricity during the daytime and will operate on
any ’off-peak’ tariff in addition to the Economy 7 tariff for which they are primarily designed.

SHELVES: A shelf positioned above the heater will enable this space to be used because, as described earlier, it is not safe to
place anything actually on the heater itself. Also, a shelf will cut down the dust streaking on the wall which sometimes results from
the warm air rising from wall mounted radiators of all types. A purpose built range of shelves to suit the TSR heaters are available
from your heater stockists or direct from Creda Heating.

NOTE: If During any reassembly of the heater a part of the thermal insulation shows damage or deterioration which may impair
safety, it should be replaced by an identical part.

MANUALLY-ADJUSTED INPUT CONTROL (SLIMLINE)

This control knob is marked overnight charge numbers 1 to 6, setting 1 giving the
least overnight charge and setting 6 giving the maximum overnight charge. It would
be a mistake to follow the varying outdoor weather changes by daily adjustment
of the knob and it is best, rather, to follow the seasonal changes. Start in Autumn,
say, with a setting of 1 to 3 and gradually increase the setting as the winter comes

on, frosts etc., Reverse the pattern as winter turns to spring.

This product complies with the European Safety Standards EN60335-2-30 and the European Standard Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) EN55014, EN60555-2 and EN60555-3.
These cover the essential requirements of EEC Directives 2006/95/EC and 2004/108/EC

OUTPUT CONTROL

This is the left hand knob under the flap. The setting on this will vary the rate
at which the heat is delivered to your room. Low settings will keep more in the
heater during the day, saving it for the evening.
After the input control has been correctly set-up, the output control position
can now be determined.
Please use the following instructions as a guide.
1 . Turn the output control knob anti-clockwise from its maximum setting to an

intermediate setting , say of 3 or 4. Should the temperature of the room be to your satisfaction, leave it at this setting.

2. Should you wish to vary the temperatures throughout the day, you may adjust the knob setting up or down to achieve either
a “boost” of heat or a cooler temperature, i.e. leave at a minimum setting of say 1 or 2 until evening, then turn the control
back to minimum at bed time.

NOTE: The higher the setting during the day, the less heat saved for the evening and vice versa.

SETTING THE CONTROLS
The controls are located under the lockable flap at the right-hand
corner of the top panel. To adjust the controls on the heater use a coin
and engage it in the slot provided on the top surface of the knob.
AUTOMATIC INPUT CONTROL (SENSOR PLUS)

After 48 hours of running at maximum control settings, the heater can now
be adjusted to operate at its optimum performance. Please use the following
instructions as a guide.

1. In the early afternoon to early evening, say between the hours of 2pm and 8pm,

turn the input control knob fully anti-clockwise until the minimum stop position is achieved, then turn the knob slowly clockwise
until an audible “click” is heard - leave the control at this setting. This will allow the heater to take on an overnight charge.

2. On the following evening, (at around the time when you would normally be retiring to bed) judge the temperature of the room

(not the heater).

If the room is warm enough, carefully touch the top of the heaters side panel, this should be cool to the touch (i.e. heater

discharged). If the side panel is still hot or quite warm, carefully reduce the Input Control Knob setting by a very small amount.
On the following evening again judge whether the room is warm enough when you retire to bed together with the temperature
at the top of the side panel.

If however when you retire to bed after initially setting the Input Control to “the click” the room is too cool and the temperature

at the top of the side panel is cold, increase by a very small amount the Input Control setting., repeat as necessary over the
next two or three days.

Remember, you need sufficient heat to be stored overnight in the core when it has finished charging to last through the day,

so that by the end of the day virtually all of the heat has been used up.

3. Persevere with this procedure until you are satisfied with the temperature of your rooms.

Due to the nature of the Auto Heater, once set up correctly, the input control can be left undisturbed and the heater will charge

each night automatically following exactly the outdoor weather conditions, even to the point of off when summer arrives. The
heater surfaces will of course vary according to the weather and the amount of heat stored. Because of variations in the siting
for different heaters in rooms, each heater needs to be set individually and the finally chosen input control knob settings may

be different in different rooms
