DOUBLE INSULATION IMPORTANT
Double insulationisa concept in safety,in electric

USE RIGHT TOOL. Don'tforce smalltool or
attachmentto dothe job of a heavy duty tool.

example- A circular saw should never be used
for cuttingtree limbsor logs.
WEAR PROPER APPAREL. Do notwear loose
clothingor jewelry that can get caughtin tool's
moving partsand cause personalinjury.Rubber
glovesand nonskidfootwearare recommended
when working outdoors.Wear protectivehair
coveringto contain long heirand keep itfrom
being drawn into nead_ air vents.
ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GLASSES. Everyday
eyeglasses have onlyimpact-resistantlenses;
they are not safety glasses,
PROTECT YOUR LUNGS. Wear a face or dust
mask if the operation isdusty.
PROTECT YOUR HEARING. Wear headng
protectiondudogextended pedodsof operation.
DON'TABUSE CORD. Never carrytoolby cord
or yank it to disconnectfrom receptacle. Keep
cordfrom heat, oil, and sharp edges.
SECURE WORK. Usa clampsor a vice to hold
work. It's safer than usingyourhand and itfrees
bothhands to operate tool.
DON'T OVERREACH. Keep properfooting and
balanceat all times. Do notusa while standing
on a ladder or unstablesupport,Secure tools
when working at elevated positions.
MAINTAIN TOOLS WITH CARE. Keep tools
sharpand clean for bestand safest performance.

DISCONNECT TOOLS. When not in use, before
servicing,or when changingor adjustingsanding
belt,attachments, blades, bits, cutters,etc., all
toolsshould be disconnectedfrom power supply.
REMOVE ADJUSTING KEYS AND
WRENCHES. Form habitofcheckingto see that
keys and adjustingwrenches are removed from
tool beforeturning it on.

plugged-intool with finger onswitch,Be sure
switchis off when pluggingin.

MAKE SURE YOUR EXTENSION CORD IS IN
GOOD CONDITION, When usingan extension
cord,be sureto use one heavy enough to carry
the currentyour productwilldraw.An undersized
cord will cause a drop in linevoltage resulting in
lossof power and overheating.Awire gage size
(A.W.G.) of at least 16 is recommended foran
extension cord 100 feet or lessin length. A cord
exceeding 100 feet is notrecommended. If in
doubt, usethe next heavier gage. The smaller
the gage number,the heavierthe cord.
OUTDOOR USE EXTENSION CORDS. When
tool isused outdoors,use only extensioncords
suitablefor use outdoors. Outdoor approved
cordsare markedwith the suffixW-A, for ex-
ample - SJTW-A or SJOW-A.

NEVER USE THIS OR ANY POWER SANDER
FOR WET SANDING. Failureto complycan
resultin electricalshockcausing seriousinjuryor
worse.
KEEP HANDS AWAY FROM SANDING AREA.
NEVER USE IN AN EXPLOSIVE ATMO-
SPHERE. Normal sparkingofthe motor could
ignitefumes.
INSPECT TOOL CORDS PERIODICALLY and if
damaged, have repairedat your nearest Sears
Repair Canter, Stay constantlyaware ofcord
locationand keep it well away from the sanding
area.
INSPECT EXTENSION CORDS PERIOD/-
CALLY and replace if damaged.
KEEP HANDLES DRY, CLEAN, AND FREE
FROM OIL AND GREASE. Always usea clean
clothwhen cleaning.Never use brakefluids,
gasoline, petroleum-based products,or any
strongsolventsto clean yourtool.
STAYALERTAND EXERCISE CONTROL.
Watch whet you are doing and use common
sense. Do not operatetoolwhen you are tired.
Do not rush.
CHECK DAMAGED PARTS. Before further use
ofthe tool,a guardor other partthat is damaged
shouldbe carefully checked to determine that it
willoperate properlyand perform itsintended
function,Checkfor alignment of moving parts,
bindingof movingparts, breakageof parts,
mounting and any otherconditionsthat may
affect its operation.Aguard or otherpert that is
damaged shouldbe properlyrepairedor re-
placedby an authorizedservice center,
DO NOT USE TOOL IF SWITCH DOES NOT
TURN IT ON AND OFR Have defectiveswitches
replaced by an authorized servicecenter,
INSPECT FOR and remove all nails from lumbar
before sanding.
DO NOT operate thistoolwhile underthe
influenceof drugs,alcohol,or any medication.
POLARIZED PLUGS. To reducethe riskof
electricshock,this tool hasa polarizedplug (one
blade iswiderthan the other),This plugwill fit in
a polarizedoutlet only one way. If the plugdoes
notfit fully inthe outlet,reversethe plug, If itstill
does notfit, contacta qualifiedelectricianto
installthe properoutlet. Do notchange the plug
inany way.
WHEN SERVICING USE ONLY IDENTICAL

sendingsurface coatingssuchas polyurethanes,
linseedoil, etc,, can serf-lgniteinyour sander
dust bag or elsewhere and causefire. To reduce
the risk of fire, always empty your dust bag
frequently (10-15 minutes) while sending and
never storeor leave a sanderwithouttotally
emptyingitsdust bag. Alsofollow the recommen-
dations of the coatingsmanufacturers,
