Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Kauf des C Pen 20! Der C Pen wird Ihnen das Leben erleichtern und jede Menge Zeit sparen. Der Stift überträgt gelesene Texte und Zahlen direkt auf Ihren PC. C Pen erkennt 167 Sprachen mit lateinischen, kyrillischen oder griechischen Schriftzeichen. Das Gerät liest ebenfalls Barcodes und spezielle numerische Zeichen wie Zahlen, OCR-A und MICR (E 13 B ).

C-Pen 20

Software installieren

Bevor Sie den C-Pen 20 mit dem PC verbinden, muss die Software installiert werden, die sich auf der beiliegenden CD-ROM befindet.

WICHTIGER HINWEIS: Verbinden Sie den C-Pen 20 keinesfalls vor der Softwareinstallation mit dem PC.

1. Schließen Sie alle geöffneten Anwendungen.

2. Legen Sie die CD-ROM in das CD-ROM-Laufwerk des PCs ein.

Das Installationsprogramm startet automatisch. Befolgen Sie die Anweisungen am Bildschirm.

3. Nach abgeschlossener Installation erscheint eine entsprechende

Meldung.

4. Verbinden Sie den C-Pen 20 mit einem USB-Anschluss am PC.

Fehlerbehebung

• Wenn das Installationsprogramm nicht automatisch startet, klicken Sie in der Windows-Taskleiste auf Start und wählen Sie den Eintrag Ausführen aus. Tragen Sie nun im Eingabefeld x:\setup ein (wobei x für den Buchstaben des CD-ROM-Laufwerks steht).

• Wenn der Computer Treiber anfordert, haben Sie den C-Pen möglicherweise vor der Installation der Software auf der beiliegenden CD-ROM angeschlossen. Trennen Sie den C-Pen vom Computer, installieren Sie die Software und verbinden Sie den C-Pen erneut.

Diese Anleitung beschreibt lediglich kurz, wie der C-Pen 20 installiert und verwendet wird. Nähere Informationen über den C-Pen 20 entnehmen Sie der Online-Hilfe, die mit diesem Produkt installiert wurde. Um die Hilfe aufzurufen, klicken Sie auf das C-Pen-Symbol in der Taskleiste und wählen im Kontextmenü den Eintrag Hilfe aus.

Alle C-Pen 20-Funktionen lassen sich über das Symbol in der Taskleiste aufrufen. Klicken Sie auf das C-Pen 20-Symbol, um das Kontextmenü aufzurufen.

So lesen Sie mit dem C-Pen 20

1. Bewegen Sie den Cursor zu der Position, an der der zu lesende Text

eingefügt werden soll. Dabei muss das betreffende Fenster aktiv sein.

2. Halten Sie die Spitze des C-Pen 20 vor das erste zu lesende Zeichen. Die

beiden Stützfüße sind so zu positionieren, dass sich die Mitte der Textzeile in der Mitte der Öffnung befindet. Der Fuß mit dem Auslöser sollte sich dabei unter der Textzeile und der andere Fuß über der Textzeile befinden. Der C-Pen beginnt mit dem Lesevorgang, wenn der automatische Auslöser gegen die Oberfläche gedrückt wird. Der Lesevorgang wird erst unterbrochen, wenn der automatische Auslöser nicht mehr betätigt wird.

3. Führen Sie den C-Pen über die Textzeile. Sie können den C-Pen entweder

von links nach rechts oder von rechts nach links über den Text bewegen.

4. Heben Sie den C-Pen nach dem letzten zu lesenden Zeichen an. Der C-Pen

unterbricht den Lesevorgang, wenn der automatische Auslöser nicht mehr betätigt wird.

5. Verfahren Sie ebenso bei der nächsten Zeile.

1. Beschädigungen, die während des Transports, durch einen Unfall, durch vorsätzliche

Beschädigung, durch Veränderungen am Gerät, durch unsachgemäßen Gebrauch, durch höhere Gewalt entstanden sind oder durch ein Ereignis, das außerhalb des Einflusses von C Technologies liegt verursacht wurden, einschließlich aller Beschädigungen, die direkt oder indirekt durch Blitzschlag, Überschwemmung, Feuer, öffentlichen Aufr uhr, Unruhen, Streik, Kriegszustand oder ähnliche Ereigni sse auftreten.

2. Ersatz für Schäden (einschließlich al ler direkten oder indirekten Personenschäden,

entgangenem Gewinn, sinkende r Produktion, Verlust oder Veränderung von verarbeiteten Informationen oder jeglicher anderen Art eines damit verbundenen Folge schadens), die durch das Produkt oder seinen Gebrauch oder durch die Tatsache entstehen, dass das Produkt nicht gebraucht werden kann.

3. Mangelhafte Wartung oder Reparatur durch nicht autorisierte Personen.

4. Inkompatibilität aufgrund technischer Weiterentwicklungen.

5. Fehler/Beschädigungen, die durch externe Geräte oder durch außergewöhnliche Abnutzung

entstanden sind.

6. Beschädigungen durch normale Abnutzung und normalen Verschle iß.

7. Schäden in Verbindung mit oder als Folge von Aktualisierungen, bei de nen das Produkt

verändert oder Soft- oder Hardware eingesetzt wurde, die nicht von C Technologies

hergestellt oder schriftlich genehmigt wurde.

Wenn Sie mit Ihrem C-Pen-Produkt den Garantieservice in Anspruch nehmen möchten, wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihren Fachhändler, bei dem Sie das Produkt gekauft haben. Das Produkt sollte in seiner Originalverpackung eingeschickt werden, bzw. so verpackt sein, dass Transportschäden vermiede n werden. Der Käufer des C-Pen muss durch eine Rechnung oder einen Kassenzettel bzw. eine Quittung, die/der vom Fachhändler ausgestellt wu rde, bei dem das Produkt gekauft wurde, das Kaufdatum nachweisen können, um einen gültigen Garantieanspruch zu haben. Durch eine Reparatur oder einen Austausc h wird die Garantiezeit nicht verlängert oder erneuert. Ausgetauschte Geräte oder Gerätebestandteile werden Eigentum von C Technologies. Wenn die ursprüngliche Garantiezeit abgelaufen ist, endet automatisch auch die Garantiezeit für alle ausgetauschten/reparierten Bestandteile des Gerätes. Dieses Produkt gilt nicht als beschädigt mit Blick auf Material- oder Funktionsfehler, wenn es umgebaut oder modifiziert werden muss, um nationalen Vorschriften oder örtlichen technischen Sicherheitsvorschriften in einem Land zu entsprechen, für das das Produkt nicht vorgesehen ist.

Software Installation

Before you connect C-Pen 20 to your PC you must install the software on the enclosed CD-ROM.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT connect C-Pen 20 before the software is installed.

1. Close all open applications.

2. Insert the CD-ROM in your PC's CD-ROM drive. The installation

program will start automatically. Follow the on-screen instructions.

3. A message will be displayed when the installation is complete.

4. Plug C-Pen 20 into the USB port on your PC.

Troubleshooting

• If the installation program does not start, simply click on Start on the Taskbar and select Run. In the Open field type x:\setup (where the x is the letter of your CD-ROM drive).

• If your computer prompts you for drivers you have probably connected C-Pen without first installing the software on the enclosed CD-ROM. Disconnect C-Pen , install the software and reconnect C-Pen .

This guide is only a short introduction about how to install and how to read with C-Pen 20. To learn more about C-Pen 20 please see the online Help installed with this product. To open the Help document, click on the C-Pen icon in the Taskbar and select Help in the menu.

You can access all the C-Pen 20 functions from the Taskbar icon. Click on the C-Pen 20 icon to display the menu.

How to Read with Your C-Pen 20

1. Place the cursor at the position where the read text is to be inserted.

Remember that the window has to be active.

2. Place the tip of C-Pen 20 before the first character you want to read.

The two supporting legs should be positioned so that the centre of the text line is in the centre of the opening. The leg with the trigger should be below the text line and the other leg above the text line. C-Pen starts to read when the automatic trigger is pressed onto the surface and will continue to read until the automatic trigger is released.

3. Move C-Pen over the line of text. You can move C-Pen either left-

to-right or right-to-left over the text.

4. Lift C-Pen after the last character you want to read . C-Pen stops

reading when the automatic trigger is released.

5. Continue in the same way for the next line.

C Technologies AB warrants that this product is free from defects in materials and function at the time of original purchase and for a period of one year from that date. When the name C Technologies is mentioned in the following text, it means, unless otherwise stat ed, C Technologies AB (reg. No. 556753-5306), its subsidiaries and retailers. If, during the warranty period, any defect in the product arises due to a deficiency in mate rials or function, C Technologies pledges to, at C Technologies' option, either repair or replace the defective

product with the same or an equivalent model.

C Technologies, however, takes no re sponsibility for:

1. Damage caused during shipping, by accidents, malicious damage, modification, incorrect

usage, force majeure or any cause beyond the control of C Technologies, includin g but not limited to lightning, water, fire, public disturbances, riots, strike, war or other similar conflicts.

2. Damage (including but not limited to dire ct or indirect personal injury, lost profits, fall in

If your C-Pen product requires warranty service you should return the produc t to the dealer/retailer from whom it was purchased. The product must be packed in original packaging or with sufficient care so as to avoid shipping damage. The original purchaser must be able to show proof of purchase, inc luding date of purchase, with receipt/in voice from point of purchase in order for this warranty to be valid. Repair or exchange does not exte nd or renew the warranty period. Exchanged defective parts become the property of C

Technologies. When the warranty period has expired, the warranty of exchanged/replaced parts also ceases. This product is not to be regarded as having defects in materials or function if it must be rebuilt in order to be modified in accordance with national or local technical safety regulations in a country other than one in which the product was meant to be used.

C Technologies reserves all rights to the product, its hardware, software and tra demark. Whoever buys or uses the product has no right to alter, disassemble, reverse engineer or in any other way use any part of the hardwa re or software in the product, except in the way and for the purposes permitted by law. This warra nty does not affect the purchaser's rights in relation to the retailer in accordance with the purchase agreement, nor the purchaser's legal rights according to existing, mandatory rules in applicable laws. Instalación del software

Antes de conectar el C-Pen 20 al PC, deberá instalar el software del CD-ROM incluido en la entrega.

IMPORTANTE: NO conecte el C-Pen 20 antes de instalar el software.

1. Cierre todas las aplicaciones que estén abiertas.

2. Inserte el CD-ROM en la unidad de CD-ROM de su PC. El

programa de instalación arrancará automáticamente. Siga las instrucciones en pantalla.

3. Se visualizará un mensaje una vez concluida la instalación.

4. Enchufe el C-Pen 20 en el puerto USB de su PC.

Solución de problemas

• Si no arranca el programa de instalación, basta con hacer clic en Inicio en la barra de tareas y seleccionar Ejecutar. En el campo Abrir, escriba x:\setup (donde la x hace referencia a la unidad de CD-ROM).

Cómo leer con C-Pen 20

1. Coloque el puntero en la posición donde se va a insertar el texto

leído. Recuerde que la ventana ha de estar activa.

2. Coloque el C-Pen 20 sobre el primer carácter que desea leer. Los

dos soportes deben colocarse de tal modo que el centro de la línea de texto quede en el centro de la apertura. El soporte con el gatillo debe quedar por debajo de la línea de texto. El C-Pen comienza a leer automáticamente cuando se presiona el gatillo automático contra la superficie, y seguirá leyendo hasta que se levante el gatillo.

3. Mueva el C-Pen sobre la línea de texto. Puede mover el C-Pen sobre

el texto, de izquierda a derecha o de derecha a izquierda.

4. Levante el C-Pen después del último carácter que desee leer. El C-

Pen interrumpirá la lectura al levantar el gatillo automático.

Installation du logiciel

Avant de connecter le C-Pen 20 à votre ordinateur, vous de vez installer le logiciel qui se trouve sur le CD-ROM.

ATTENTION ! NE CONNECTEZ PAS le C-Pen 20 avant d'avoir installé le logiciel.

1. Fermez toutes les applications ouvertes.

2. Placez le CD-ROM dans le lecteur de CD-ROM de votre ordinateur.

Le programme d'installation démarre automatiquement. Suivez les instructions qui apparaissent à l'écran.

3. Un message s'affiche pour vous indiquer que l'installation est

terminée.

4. Branchez le câble du C-Pen 20 au port USB de votre ordinateur.

En cas de problème

• Si le programme d'installation ne démarre pas, cliquez sur "Démarrer" dans la barre des tâches puis sur "Exécuter…". Dans le champ "Ouvrir", tapez x:\setup (x étant la lettre de votre lecteur de CD-ROM).

• Si votre ordinateur recherche des pilotes, vous avez probablement connecté C-Pen sans avoir au préalable installé le logiciel qui se trouve sur le CD-ROM. Débranchez C-Pen, installez le logiciel et rebranchez C-Pen.

Comment effectuer une lecture avec votre C-Pen 20

1. Placez le curseur à l'endroit où vous voulez insérer le texte à lire. N'oubliez

pas que la fenêtre doit être active.

2. Placez l'extrémité du C-Pen 20 devant le premier caractère à lire. Les deux

petites pointes doivent être positionnées de façon à ce que la ligne de texte se trouve centrée dans l'espace qui sépare ces pointes. La pointe portant la gâchette doit être placée en dessous de la ligne de texte, l'autre au-dessus. C-Pen démarre la lecture lorsque vous appuyez la gâchette automatique contre la surface à lire. Le stylo continue la lecture jusqu'à ce que vous relâchiez la pression sur la gâchette.

3. Déplacez C-Pen sur la ligne de texte. Vous pouvez le déplacer de gauche à

droite ou de droite à gauche au-dessus du texte.

4. Relevez C-Pen après le dernier caractère qui doit être lu. C-Pen arrête la

lecture lorsque vous relâchez la pression sur la gâchette automatique.

Installazione del software

Prima di collegare C-Pen 20 al proprio PC, occorre installare il software contenuto nel CD-ROM allegato.

IMPORTANTE: NON collegare C-Pen 20 prima di aver installato il software.

1. Chiudere tutte le applicazioni aperte.

2. Inserire il CD-ROM nell'unità CD-ROM del PC e il programma di

installazione si avvierà automaticamente. Seguire le istruzioni visualizzate.

3. Verrà visualizzato un messaggio quando l’installazione è completa.

4. Inserire C-Pen 20 nella porta USB del proprio PC.

Risoluzione dei problemi

Come leggere con C-Pen 20

1. Collocare il cursore nella posizione in cui il testo letto deve essere inserito.

2. Collocare la punta di C-Pen 20 prima del primo carattere che si desidera

Välkommen som användare av C-Pen 20. Denna läspenna kommer att förenkla din tillvaro och spara tid åt dig genom att automatiskt tolka och överföra tryckt information direkt till din dator. Installation

Innan du ansluter pennan till din dator måste du installera den programvara, som finns på den medföljande cd-romskivan.

VIKTIGT: Anslut inte C-Pen 20 före det att mjukvaran har installerats.

1. Stäng alla öppna program.

2. Sätt i cd-romskivan i din dator. Installationsprogrammet startar

automatiskt. Följ instruktionerna.

3. Du får ett meddelande när installationen är klar.

4. Anslut C-Pen 20 till USB-kontakten på din dator.

Felsökning

• Om din dator frågar efter drivrutiner har du förmodligen anslutit pennan utan att först installera programvaran som finns på den medföljande cd-romskivan. Koppla bort pennan, installera programvaran och anslut sedan pennan igen.

• Om installationsprogrammet inte startar, ska du klicka på Start i Aktivitetsfältet och sedan på Kör. I rut a n Öppna skriver du x:\setup (där enhet x är din cd-romläsare).

Så här läser du med C-Pen 20

1. På datorn placeras markören i den position där du vill att den inlästa

texten ska bli införd. Kom ihåg att fönstret måste vara aktivt.

2. Placera spetsen på C-Pen 20 före det första tecknet som du vill läsa.

De två stödbenen skall vara positionerade så att textradens mitt är i mitten av öppningen. Benet med avtryckaren skall vara under textraden och det andra benet över textraden . C-Pe n b ör jat att läsa när den automatiska avtryckaren trycks mot ytan och pennan kommer att fortsätta att läsa tills den automatiska avtryckaren släpps.

3. Dra pennan över textraden. Du kan läsa både från höger och

vänster.

4. Lyft pennan efter det sista tecknet som du vill läsa. Pennan slutar

läsa när den automatiska avtryckaren lyfts.

5. Fortsätt på samma sätt med nästa rad.
