Things to check before you start
To avoid the risks that are always present when you use a gas appliance it is important that this
5
appliance is installed correctly and that you read the safety instructions carefully to avoid misuse and hazards.
Please keep this instruction booklet for future reference and pass it on to any future owners. After
5
unpacking the appliance please check that it is not damaged. If in doubt, do not use the appliance but contact Customer Services on UK 0800 324 7818 or Eire 1800 932 230.
Check the package and make sure you have all of the parts listed.

Decide on the appropriate location for your product.
5
The specications plate is available on this appliance. This plate displays all the necessary
5
identication information for ordering replacement parts. If you sell the appliance, give it away, or
leave it behind when you move house, make sure you also pass on this manual so that the new owner can become familiar with the appliance and its safety warnings.
Safety
These instructions are for your safety. Please read through them thoroughly prior to
installation and retain them for future reference.
WARNING: The connection of the hob to the gas network or gas cylinder must be made by means
5
of a rigid copper or steel pipe with ttings complying with local regulations. These ttings are NOT supplied. THIS OPERATION MUST BE MADE BY A QUALIFIED GAS INSTALLER.
This appliance complies with all current European safety legislation, however, the Manufacturer
5
must emphasise that this compliance does not prevent the surfaces of the appliance from heating up during use and remaining hot during its operation.
Accessible parts may become hot during use. Young children should be kept away.
5
Care should be taken to avoid touching the appliance when it is hot.
5
The Manufacturer highly recommends that this appliance be kept out of the reach of babies and
5
small children.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced
5
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance.
5
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 years
5
and supervised.
Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
5
Means for isolating the appliance must be incorporated in the xed wiring in accordance with the
5
current wiring regulations. An omnipolar circuit breaker having a contact separation of at least
3 mm in all poles should be connected in the xed wiring.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or
5
similarly qualied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Make sure that the power cord is not caught under or in the appliance and avoid damage to the
5
power cable.
Do not allow the electric cables to touch the hot parts of the appliance.
5
Do not install the appliance outdoors, in any damp place or in an area which may be prone to
5
water leaks such as under or near a sink unit. In the event of a water leak allow the machine to dry naturally.
Please dispose of the packing material carefully.

Do not use ammable sprays in close vicinity to the appliance.
5
We also recommend that great care be taken during use and cleaning. Read the cleaning and
5
maintenance sections for this appliance carefully.
A steam cleaner is not to be used.
5
The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of external timer or separated
5
remote-control system.
The appliance is for domestic use only.
5
When a cooking zone has been on for a long time, the surface remains hot for some time
5
afterwards so do not touch the metal surface.
Do not store detergents or ammable materials beneath the hob.
5
Do not leave hot oils or fats unattended as they may catch light.
5
The Manufacturer declines all liability for personal or material damage as a result of misuse or
5
incorrect installation of this appliance.
WARNING! Unattended cooking on a hob with fat or oil can be dangerous and may result in re.
5
Never try to extinguish a re with water, but switch off the appliance and then cover the ame
5
with a lid or a re blanket.
WARNING! Risk of re! Do not store items on the cooking surfaces.

Prior to installation, ensure that the local distribution conditions (nature of the gas and gas
5
pressure) and the adjustment of the appliance are compatible.
The adjustment conditions for this appliance are stated on the label (or data plate).

This appliance is not connected to a combustion products evacuation device.
5
It shall be installed and connected in accordance with current installation regulations.
5
Particular attention shall be given to the relevant requirements regarding ventilation.
CAUTION: This appliance is for cooking purposes only. It must not be used for other purposes,
5
for example room heating.
Don’t put cooking vessels on the hotplate that overlap its edges.
5
CAUTION: The use of a gas cooking appliance results in the production of heat, moisture and
5
products of combustion in the room in which it is installed.
Ensure that the kitchen is well ventilated especially when the appliance is in use: keep natural
5
ventilation holes open or install a mechanical ventilation device (mechanical extractor hood).
Always use at-bottomed cookware during cooking.
5
Never use cookware with a diameter larger then the diameter of the cooking zone.
5
This appliance shall be installed in accordance with the regulations in force and only used in a well
5
ventilated space.
Read the instructions before installing or using this appliance.
5
CAUTION: The use of a hob guard is not permitted with this appliance. Do not attempt to t or use
5
a hob guard as this can cause accidents.
Gas connection
WARNING: The connection of the hob to the gas network or gas cylinder must be made by means
of a rigid copper or steel pipe with ttings complying with local regulations. These ttings are NOT supplied. THIS OPERATION MUST BE MADE BY A QUALIFIED GAS INSTALLER.
A connecting elbow is pre-tted to the hob. This elbow terminates in an external 1/2” BSP connecting
thread complying with ISO 228-1:2003. The connection made to the pre-tted elbow MUST be suitable for connecting to this thread. If ANY other connection type or thread size is used a suitable adaptor MUST be tted.
The qualied gas installer must ensure that the operation of the burners has been correctly veried
before use.
CAUTION: The gas connection must be installed in compliance with applicable regulations in the country of installation.
Gas supply requirements
The appliance installation must be carried out in accordance with relevant local regulations.
The installation must be carried out by an authorised gas appliance installer and tested to
local regulations.
We are not legally able to offer advice on the installation of gas appliances to un-authorised personnel.
Ventilation
This appliance must not be connected to a combustion products evacuation device. It shall be
connected and installed in accordance with local installation regulations paying particular attention to the relevant requirements regarding ventilation.
What to do if you smell gas?
Do not try to light any appliance.
Do not touch any electrical switch.
Do not use phones in the building.
Immediately call your gas supplier from a different property.
WARNING: Read the instructions before using the appliance.
THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED. THIS HOB MUST BE INSTALLED BY A QUALIFIED GAS TECHNICIAN!
Electrical connection
All installation must be carried out by a qualied electrician. Before connecting the mains supply
ensure that the mains voltage corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.
Direct Connection
The appliance must be connected directly to the mains using an omnipolar circuit breaker with a
minimum opening of 3 mm between the contacts.
The installer must ensure that the correct electrical connection has been made and that it complies
with the wiring diagram.
The cable must not be bent or compressed.
Regularly check the power cord for damage. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualied persons in order to avoid a safety hazard.
WARNING: This is a Class I appliance and MUST be earthed.
