If this thermometer does not function properly for any reason, please replace the battery with a new high quality battery (see “Battery Replacement” section). Low battery power can occasionally cause any number of “apparent” operational difficulties. Replacing the battery with a new fresh battery will solve most difficulties.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
Erratic readings, a faint display, no display, or when all °C or °F digits flash are all indicators that the batteries must be replaced. Using a coin, unscrew the round battery cover. Remove the exhausted battery and replace with a new 1.5 volt, G-13 size battery (Replacement Cat. No. 1039). With the rubber O-ring seated properly, replace the battery cover.
