OPERATION
1. Turn on the unit by pressing the On/ Of f Butt on (3, Fig. 1) once.
2. Press the °F/°C Button t o select the des ired temperature unit. (2, Fig. 1)
3. Immerse the probe tip at leas t 10 millim et ers int o t he des ired s ubstanc e t o
obtain temperature reading.
4. Press the H/T button (5, Fig .1) onc e to “freeze” the display at t he current
temperature reading. “HOLD ” flashes in t he upper port i on of t he dis play
indicating that the unit is in hold mode. Press t he H/T button again to release the
reading.
5. Press the MAX/MIN button (7, Fig. 1) once to recall the minimum temperature.
“MIN” will appear on the display.
6. Press the MAX/MIN button onc e again t o rec all the max im um temperature.
“MAX” will appear on the display.
7. After 3 seconds, the unit will aut om at ically r et urn t o the current temperature and
“Min” or “Max” will no longer appear on the display.
8. To back light the display, press the LIGH T button (6, Fig. 1) . The dis play will
light for 3 seconds.
9. The unit will automat ically t urn its elf off after one hour t o conserv e pow er. To
turn off this function, pres s Clear (10, Fig. 1) and On/Off (3, Fig. 1). To restore
this function, turn the unit off and bac k on again by pressing t he On/ Off button
two times.
10. A stand is located on the back of the unit. Simply pull the bottom of the stand
away from the unit to extend t he stand f or use. Pres s the stand bac k int o the unit
until it snaps to close. Also loc ated on the bac k of the unit is a cli p.
11. With the stand extended, pull it gently away fr om the unit to expos e t he battery
compartment and probe c able.
SETTING THE ALARM
1. Press and hold the Low Alarm But t on (11, Fig. 1) unt il the desired temperature is
reached. “LOW” will appear in the dis play . When the current temperature is at or
below this set value, an alarm will beep.
2. The alarm will continue t o beep four tim es every m i nut e unt il the Alarm Off
Button (8, Fig. 1) is pressed or the c urrent temperat ure ret urns to an “in range”
reading.
3. Press and hold the High Alarm But t on (12, Fig. 1) unt il the desir ed t em perat ure
is reached. “HIGH” will appear in the display . When the current temperature is at
or above this set value, an alarm will beep.

4. When both a High and Low alarm t em perat ure are s et, “HI LOW ” will appear in
the lower portion of the dis play.
5. To clear the alarms, press the Alarm Of f butt on (8, Fi g. 1).
MEMORY
1. Press the H/T button (5, Fig. 1) to hold the c urrent temperat ure. Press the
Memory button (4, Fig. 1) to store the temperat ure reading into memory. “Mem
1” will appear on the display. R epeat these steps t o st ore addit ional
temperatures. U p to 10 readings c an be s t ored.
2. To recall a stored reading, press t he R ec all Button (9, Fig. 1) once. The
temperature stored in M em 1 will be dis play ed. Eac h subsequent pr es s of the
Recall Button will show t he next stored reading.
3. To clear all stored mem ories, pres s and hold the C lear Button (10, Fig. 1) for 5
seconds.
LOW BATTERY
Erratic readings, a faint dis play, or no display are all indicators that the battery is low
and needs to be replaced. To rem ov e t he battery , using a small screwdriver, unscrew
the three sc rew s locat ed on the back of the thermom et er ins ide t he probe
compartment. Remove the battery cover. Rem ove the ex hausted battery and replace it
with a new 357 size battery. M ak e certain t he pos itive ( +) side is visible. Replace the
battery cover. Screw the three screws back into the unit. Do not ov er-tighten the
screws as this may cause dam age t o the batt ery cover. Clos e t he probe c ompartment.
ALL OPERATIONAL DIFFICULTIES
If this thermomet er does not f unction properly for any reason, please properly replace
the battery with a new G-13 battery (s ee Low Batt ery sect ion, above). Low battery
power can occasionally c aus e any number of “apparent ” operat ional difficulties.
Replacing the battery w ith a new fresh bat t ery wil l solve m ost diffic ult ies .
