OPERATION
WITH VIEWING STAND:
The viewing stand is supplied for use when viewing microscope slides.
1. Place a microscope slide under the metal clips and adjust the slide so that the portion to be viewed is under the hole opposite the light.
2. Slide the light switch (C) to the ON position and slide the bulb rotation knob (D) down to concentrate the light on the slide.
3. Look through the eye piece (F) and turn the focus wheel (B) until the object is in sharp focus.
4. To increase the magnification of the object being viewed, slide the zoom switch (G) up. Maximum magnification is 100X. To decrease the 0
Bulb— magnification of the object being viewed, slide the zoom switch (G) down. Rotation Minimum magnification is 60X. When
magnification is increased or decreased, the focus will require re-adjustment.
5. When viewing is completed, slide the light switch (C) up to the OFF position. The microscope may remain in the stand to facilitate storage, or
may be removed by lifting it out of the stand.
WITHOUT VIEWING STAND:
1. Remove the microscope from the viewing stand by lifting it up and out of the stand.
2. Place the microscope on the object to be viewed.
3. Position the hole, opposite the light, on the object to be viewed.
4. Slide the light switch (C) down to the ON position and slide the bulb rotation knob (D) down to concentrate the light on the object being
viewed.
5. Look through the eye piece (F) and turn the focus wheel (B) until the object is in sharp focus.
6. To increase the magnification of the object being viewed, slide the zoom switch (G) up. Maximum magnification is 100X. To decrease the
magnification of the object being viewed, slide the zoom switch (G) down. Minimum magnification is 60X. When magnification is increased
or decreased, the focus will require re-adjustment.
7. When viewing is completed, slide the light switch (C) up to the OFF position.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
1. Remove the battery cover (A) by sliding it in the direction indicated by the arrow.
2. Remove the exhausted batteries and replace with two new AA batteries.
3. Replace the battery cover.
BULB REPLACEMENT
1. Remove the transparent cover (H) by sliding it out, approximately one—third of the way, and then lifting up. (See illustration)
2. Unscrew the exhausted bulb and replace with a new one.
Replace the transparent cover.
