This product is a 12.1 inch TFT color LCD display for desktop or
wall-mounted use. The display complies with the Panel Link
specification and is intended for use w i th a host computer such as
the CONTEC box computer series (BOXPC series) or SBC (single
board computer) products.
The following two versions of the display are available.
Base Model
IPC-DT/L440(PC)TA
Touch-panel model fitted with a polarizer (low reflection, high
contrast)
IPC-DT/L440(PC)TB
Features
- Full-bright, wide-angle-of-visibility type of liquid crystals
capable of displaying up to 262,144 colors
- At only 35mm thick, the display is suitable for both wall mounting
and desktop use.
- Equipped with a quick-response analog touch panel
- Uses the Panel Link I/F specification which permits a cable length
up to 5m.
- An optional AC adapter (IPC-ACAP12-01) is available to run the
display from the AC power supply.
- An optional stand kit (IPC-SND-0 2) is ava ilab le to use as a
desktop display.

Limited One-Year Warranty
CONTEC Interface boards are warranted by CONTEC CO., L TD. to
be free from defects in material and workmanship for up to one year
from the date of purchase b y th e or ig in a l pu rch as er.
Repair will be free of charge only when this device is returned
freight prepaid with a copy of the original invoice and a Return
Merchandise Authorization to the distributor or the CONTEC group
office, from which it was purchased.
This warranty is not applicable for scratches or normal wear, but
only for the electronic circuitry and original boards. The warranty is
not applicable if the device has been tampered with or damaged
through abuse, mistreatment, neglect, or unreasonable use, or if the
original invoice is not included, in which case repairs will be
considered beyond the warranty policy.
How to Obtain Service
For replacement or repair, return the device freight prepaid, with a
copy of the original in vo ice. Pl eas e obta in a Re turn Me rch and is e
Authorization Number (RMA) from the CONTEC group office
where you purchased before returning any product.
* No product will be accepted by CONTEC group without the
RMA number.
Liability
The obligation of the warrantor is solely to repair or replace the product.
In no event will the warrantor be liable for any incidental or
consequential damages due to such defect or consequences that arise
from inexperienced usage, misuse, or malfunction of t his device.

Handling Precautions
T ake the following precautions when handling this board.
- This display is made of the precise electric parts, so do not use or
store it in the vicinity of impulse or vibration.
- This product is not intended for use in aerospace, space, nuclear
power, medical equipment, or other applications that require a
very high level of reliability. Do not use the product in such
applications.
- If you utilize this product in such usages where high reliability and
safety are required as on the trains, vessels, automotives or crimeor disaster-prevention devices, contact your retailer.
- Do not use or store the product in a location exposed to extremely
high or low temperature or susceptible to rapid temperature
changes.
Example:- Exposure to direct sun
- In the vicinity of a heat source
- Do not use the product in extremely humid or dusty locations.
- Although the display cable connector is able to rotate, it is not
designed to be rotated continuously. Do not rotate the connector
frequently as this may cause a fault.
- Never disconnect the display c ab le wh en th e ho s t co mpu ter i s
turned on. To avoid damage to the displa y, turn off the computer
before inserting or disconnecting the display cable.
- In the event of failure or abnormality, contact your retailer.
- The display brightness may deteriorate with extended use. The
operating life of the backlight (50% of initial brightness) is 50,000
hours (when permanently illuminated at the rated temperature of
25°C).
- Do not use any sharp-pointed object such as a mechanical pencil
to touch the touch pan el. Doin g so may scrat ch the to uch pan el,
resulting in malfunctions.
- Do not subject the touch panel to shock as doing so may break it.
- When the surface or frame of the touch panel has become dirt y,
wipe it with neutra l d e t ergent. Do not wipe the touch p ane l w i th
thinner, alcohol, ammonia, or a strong chlorinated solvent. Use a
protective sheet (available as an option) if the touch panel is used
where it can easily collect dust and dirt.
- This display does not support MS-DOS or Windows 3.1.

AC Adapter Connector (DC-IN Connector)
The power supply jack for connecting the AC switching adapter. Do
not use any AC adapter other than the correct CONTEC adapter
(IPC-ACAP12-01) which is available as an option.

Attaching the display unit
Two different methods are available for attach ing the d isplay un it.
(1) Hang display on scr ews
Insert four M4 or equivalent truss screws or bind screws in the
wall at the positions shown below.
Use screws with large-diameter heads so as to securely hold the
display unit.

When using with this SBC board, set 1 to 4 of switch U2 on the
board to all OFF.

Since this box computer is Plug and Play compliant, there is no need
to set up the host computer.
Note!
When connecting to a device with an automatic configuration
function such as "AUTO Select" on the IPC-BX/M600(PCW) or
Plug and Play on the PC-686C(PC)H-LV or -LVS and
IPC-BX/M630(PCI) series, always connect the cabling and turn on
the power to the display before turning on th e h o s t comp ut er. If the
host computer is started first, the computer will be unable to read
the display data (DD C d a ta) and the displa y ma y n o t function.

The touch panel models (IPC-DT/L440(PC)TA and
IPC-DT/L440(PC)TB) have a quick response touch panel for
keyboard and mouse-less operation. This operates via serial
communications (RS-232C) with the host computer.
