The Range of the Input Voltage

If the input voltage varies, it might excess the accuracy of the voltage r egulator . Contact us for details.
When using with DC input, external DC fuse is required for protection against power supply failure. Contact us for details.
This unit has no power factor correction circuit (active filter). When using the several same units, higher harmonic input wave might d e viate from the standard. Contact us for details.
This unit is capable of coping with instant input voltage dip. (Derating is requir ed.)
- Output range up to : 7.5 W
- Input : AC50V
- Duty : 1s/30s
* Never operate for more than a second. The unit can de damaged.
-Usable between AC85 and AC264V. The approval of safety standards is “100AC - 240VAC (50/60Hz)” for the rated input
voltag e range.
If you input the voltage other than mentioned above, the unit may fall into the condition dissatisfies the specificat io n, produce humming, or cause the damage to the unit. Contact us in case you plan to use short type waveform input voltage such as UPS or inverter.

Inrush Currents

This unit contains rush current suppression circuit.
If you are to use a switch, make sure it withstands inrush currents.
As a power thermistor is used for inrush current suppression, be sure the unit is cool enough when restarting input soon after turning on the power.

Variable Output Voltage

You can vary the output voltage by volume controlling.
The output voltage becomes higher when turning the volume clockwise, alterna ti vely, becomes lo wer when turnin g counterclo c kw is e.
When checking output voltage, turn the volume gradually.

Dielectric Resistance – Insulation Reduction

When testing a vol t a ge resistance for su ch a s acceptance inspections, increase the volu me graduall y. Wh en blocking the power, use a dial to decrease gradually as well. Refrain from conducting a withstand voltage te st with a timer sin ce it ma y dr i ve the e xc e ssi v e app l y voltage when the timer operates.

Reducing Power at Standby State

This unit contains power reducing function in standby mode. (At the time of no-load, power consumption is 1.0W typ)
At Io=0 to 35%, in termittent operation is executed to reduce switching losses. This changes th e specification of a ripple and a ripple noise.

How to Mount

Appropriate screw length should be within 6mm from the outside of the power unit. (See Figure3.1)
This secures the isolated distance between the unit and items inside.
Figure3.1. Mounting screw
When you place several units side by side, ma ke sure the temperature aroun d each unit stays within the indicated range in the derating table. Leave enough room between the units in order to ensure proper airflow.
Please cont ac t us for other orientations.

Derating

- Derating by input voltage
Figure3.3. below shows derating curve by input voltage.
Figure3.3. Input voltage derating curve
- Derating by operating ambient temperature
Figure3.3. and Figure3.4. show the derating characteristics by operating ambient temperature. A ripple and a ripple noise specification varies in the shadow ar ea (figure 3.4). This unit should stay within temperature measurement points (explained below) as well.
(1) Temperature m easurement points
Make sure the temperatures at point A and point B stay lower than the one li sted in Tab le
3.1.
Confirm even under the condition of forced air, it satisfies the temperature condition indicated in Table3.1.
The exp ected lifetime of point A and point B at maximum temperature is approximately three years. If you plan to extend the expected lifetime, see “Exp ec t ed Lifetime” (Table3.2.) and “Warranty” (Table3.3.).

Grounding

When mounting the power unit, do not fail to connect an input FG terminal and the unit frame (at least two places) to the ground wire.

Remarks

When power is on or right after being turned off, be aware the uni t is very h ot. Always exercise extreme caution for handling
In case of connecting a condenser with a large volume, outputting may stop or unstable movements occur. Please consult with us when planning to connect condensers.
As the unit reduces inside consumption power, outputting maintains for a few minutes even when you stop inputting current in a no-load state. Always pay attention during maintenance to avoid elect ri c shocks.
