Installation Cond iti ons

Installation orientation You can position the product in the orientation shown below.
Other orientations could cause problems su ch as malfunction du e to inadequate heat dissipation.
Vertical installation (Installation angle 0
Figure 2.5. Installation orientation
Mak e sure to gain proper space between the product and devices that generate heat or exhaust air so that the ambient temperature stays in the range specified in the environment requirement.
Recommended installation angle Recommended installation angle is 0. Other angles may not satisfy the temperature specification of the
product.
)
°
Ambient temperature The ambient temperature is decided from the multiple measurement points which are a 50mm-distance
from the case. During the operation, adjust the air current to make certain that the temperatures measured in the points stay within the specified temperature.
- Note that although the ambient temperature is within the specified range, an operational failure may occur if there is other device generating high heat nearby; the radiation will influence the product to increase its temperature.
- Do not install the product into the fully-sealed space except the case in which the internal temperature is adjustable by equipment such as an air conditioner. Long-term usage might increase the temperature and l ead to a malfunct i on or othe r t r oubles.
- When using the product in a high temperature environment, its life time will be shorten. Perform the forced air cooling to counteract.

Cable Connection

When connecting the product to an external device, you can use the supplied connect or plug. For wiring, strip off approximately 9 - 10mm of the covered part of a wire rod and then insert it to the
opening. After the insertion, secure the wire rod with screws. Compatible wires are AWG 28 - 16.
Removing the connector plug by grasping the cable can break the wire.

Analog Output (AO)

Example of Connecting a Negative Loa d Resistor Two types of connection methods can be employed: fixed load and floating load. If the module is used
as a load resistance, multiple current loops can be implemented by using the same power supply. The use of current output requires a n e x ternal power su pply (22 - 24V). In such a case, a power supply with a small ripple should be used in order to avoid an adverse impact on the conversion accuracy due to a large power supply ripple.

Connecting with a Flat Cable example Use a flat cable to connect the voltage output and the analog gro und of each channe l to the load
resistance R

CAUTION
Example of Connecting with a Coaxial Cable A coaxial cable can be used in situations where the module is at a relatively large distance from the
external device or when the noise i mmunity of the module must be improved. In this case, the current output and the analog ground for each channel are connected to the load resistance R
of the external
L
device by using the core wire and the shield braid of the coaxial cable.
Figure 2.10. Connecting to a Floating Load (Coaxial Cable)
Figure 2.11. Connecting to a Fixed Load (Coaxial Cable)
To avoid any malfunction, the current output signal should not be connected to the analog ground or
the external device.
To avoid any malfunction, the connector plug should not be attached or detached when the power
for the module or the external device is on.
In situations where the connecting cable is subject to the effects of noise, the accurate current
output can fail. The connecting cable should be installed away from any source of noise.
