IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using an electrical appliance, basic precau tions should always be followed, including the
following: READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS APPLIANCE.
DANGER– To reduce the risk of electric shock:
1) Always unplug this appliance from the electrical out let immediately after using and before
cleaning.
2) Do not reach for an appliance that has fallen int o water. Unplug immediately.
3) Do not use while bathing or in a shower.
4) Do not place or store appliance where it can f all or be pulled into a tub or sink.
5) Do not place or drop into water or other liquid.

3. Unplug the appliance from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Keep cord away from

been dropped, dropped in water or damaged in any manner. Return appliance to neares t service
facility for examination, electric al or mechanical adjustment or repair. No repairs should be
attempted by the consumer.

not recommended or sold by Conair may cause hazar ds.
6. Do not use outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray) products are b eing used, or where oxygen
is being administered.
7. Never use while sleeping.
8. Do not overfill unit past MAX line inside unit. Us e this appliance on level surface.
9. Do not heat paraffin wax in its plastic packaging and c ontainer.
10.Do not heat paraffin wax o n stove or microwave. The paraffin unit is regulated at an even
temperature to prevent scalding.
11. Do not operate unit without paraffin wax.
12. Do not pour melted paraffin wax from the unit.
13. Do not add water, lotions or any other additives to the wax.
14. Do not use if you have any skin irritations, ra shes, cuts, burns, or warts.

16. Do not soak or immerse unit in water. See MAIN TENANCE for cleaning instruc tions.
17. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the table or counter where it can be pulled on
by children or tripped over.
18. Do not use extension cord with this appliance.
19. Never drop or insert any object into any opening.
20. This appliance has no serviceable pa rts.

CAUTIONS
• This product should not be used in the following cas es unless directed by a physician: benign and
malignant tumors, hemorrhages, inflammat ions of the skin, phlebitis and thrombosis, open and
fresh wounds, bruises, or broken skin.
• Consult your physician, should you have any questions regarding pr oduct’s therapeutic use.
• In case of pregnancy, diabetes, or illness, consult your physician bef ore using product.
• Do not use on any unexplained pain before consulting your physician.
• Use of product should be pleasant and c omfortable. Should pain or discomfort result, disco ntinue
use and consult your physician.
• Do not fall asleep while using this product.
• Keep away from children. This unit is not a toy. Children should not use it or play with it .
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. Place unit on a st able, level surface at a height that is convenient for treating the desired area.
2. Remove lid and wax cont ainer from inside the unit. Unwrap wax and discard all packaging.
3. Place the wax in the uni t.
4. Place lid on unit. Lid should fit se curely on unit.
5. Plug unit into electric al outlet (120V A.C./60 H z). Switch on the unit. The indicator light
will illuminate.
6. 1 lb (approximately) of wax will take approximately 120 minutes to melt . Operate the appliance
only with wax level below the MA X indicator located on the inside of the unit.
TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
1. Wash hands or feet thoroughly. Check to make sure that you have no cuts or v isible patches of
sensitive skin.
2. R emove any jewelry and roll up long sleeves.
3. If you are sensitive to temperature, tes t the wax before beginning. Simply dab a bit onto the
inside of your wrist. It should be very warm to t he touch, but not uncomfortable.
DO NOT DIP YOUR HAND IN WA X IF IT IS TOO HOT.
4. With fingers slightly apar t, immerse hand slowly into wax in paraffin spa unit (Fig.1).
5. I mmediately pull your hand out, being sure to maintain the open-finger position. Wait 3 to 5
seconds until the paraf fin loses that “wet” look and then dip again. Try to immerse your hand to
the same depth each time, so the lip of the wa x “glove” thickens uniformly.
6. Repeat this process until 5 layers have been f ormed. Additional layers can be added to retain heat
longer.
7. Insert your hand in one of the plastic liner s provided.
8. Sit down and relax for 10-15 minutes, while the warm paraffin wa x continues to release heat to
soothe and soften the hand.
9. Remove plastic liner once you no longer feel any heat. Wiggle your finger s slightly to loosen the
wax. Then peel off the p araffin starting from the wris t and pulling it downward like a glove, into
the plastic liner (Fig.2).
10. Discard the plastic liner and wax. If only one person int ends to use this unit, you may wish to
recycle the wax by returning it to the unit . See replacement section on how to order replacement
wax blocks and liners.
11. Return lid to unit, switch the unit to “0” and unplug. Allow unit and wax to cool b efore stowing
away.

MAINTENANCE
After about 12 paraffin treatments or when visible evidence of debris occurs, the unit should be
cleaned and the paraffin wax should be replaced.
1. Unplug unit and remove lid and wax.
2. If wax is still hot, wait until it so lidifies. Push on one end of the wax block to lift up.
DO NOT USE SHARP O BJECT. Remove wax and discard.
3. Clean inside of the unit with a light household cleaner and wipe dry.
4. Once unit is thoroughly clean and dry, place lid on unit and stow away. Do not add new paraf fin
wax until you are ready to use.
REPLACEMENT
CONAIR® Paraffin Spa Replacement K it (Model #PWR5) is available through the Conair s ervice
center and retail stores car rying the PB8 unit. The kit includes 1.75 lbs of wax and 20
disposable liners.
KEEP AWAY FROM WATER
Everybody knows that electricit y and water are a dangerous combination. But did you know that an
electrical appliance is still electrically alive even if the switch is of f? If the plug is in, the power is on.
So when you are not using your appliances, keep them unplugged.
DANGER — This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the
other). As a safety fea ture, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug
does not fit fully in the outlet, revers e the plug. If is still does not fit, contact a qualified electr ician.
Do not attempt to defeat this safet y feature.

LIMITED ONE YEAR WARRANTY
Conair will repair or replace (at our option) your unit free of charge for 12 months from the da te of
purchase if the appliance is defective in workma nship or materials.
To obtain service under this warranty, return the defec tive product to the service centre listed below,
together with your purchase receipt and $7.50 for post age and handling. In the absence of a
purchase receipt, the warrant y period shall be 12 months from the date of manufacture.
