SPECIAL OIL

To maintain the blades of your ConairPET

TM

clipper, be sure to lubricate them regularly
with oil. Gently place 2 or 3 drops of oil on
the teeth of the blades before each use. Turn
clipper on for a minute, then turn off. This
will help

maintain blade sharpness and prevent dam­age from overheating. Oil is included in
your clipper set. This light, natural oil was
formulated specifically for the ConairPET

TM

clipper. Because it is the right oil to use, it
will not slow down the blades. Never use
any other product. There is no substitute for
ConairPETTM oil.

STORAGE

When not in use, your clipper should be dis­connected and stored in a safe, dry location,
out of reach of children.

HUILE SPÉCIALE

Afin de garder les lames du ConairPETMC en
bon état, huilez-les régulièrement. Placez 2
ou 3 gouttes d'huile doucement sur les dents
des lames avant chaque usage. Mettez la ton­deuse en marche pendant une minute puis
éteignez-la. Ceci aidera les lames à rester
bien affûtées et à ne pas surchauffer. L'huile
est fournie dans la trousse de la tondeuse.
Cette huile naturelle légère est spéciale­ment conçue pour la tondeuse ConairPETMC.
Comme il s'agit de la bonne huile, elle ne
ralentira pas les lames. N'utilisez jamais un
autre produit. Il n'y a pas de substitut pour
l'huile ConairPETMC.

RANGEMENT

Quand vous ne l'utilisez pas, débranchez la
tondeuse et rangez-la en lieu sûr et sec, hors
de la portée des enfants.

Before you use your ConairPET™ Clipper for
the first time, familiarize yourself with the
entire clipper kit. Your kit includes the clipper
unit with an adjustable blade assembly, comb
attachments to use over the blade, a slicker
brush, scissor, a metal comb, cleaning brush
and lubricating oil.

A proper work surface, such as a grooming
table or a kitchen counter or picnic table,
is essential to the safety of your pet during
the grooming session. Place a nonslip
rubber bath mat or rubber-backed bath rug
on the raised surface where grooming will
take place. Be sure to keep your hands in

continual contact with your pet, so he doesn't
jump or fall off and get hurt. If you are doing
the grooming alone, you can use a collar and
a short lead to keep him stable.

Your pet must be thoroughly brushed, bathed
and dried, before you can clip him accurately.
All mats and tangles must be combed out of
the coat before the clipper is applied to it,
or the clipper will be unable to cut properly.
After bathing your pet, towel him until he is
damp, then finish drying with a pet friendly
dryer. Brush coat while you are drying, to
straighten coat and to remove any mats or
tangles you may have missed before the
bath. When finished drying, make sure you
can run a comb easily through the coat.

Make sure your pet is not apprehensive
about his first experience with the clipper.
Turn on the clipper and hold it close to your
pet until he accepts the sound of the clipper.
Next, hold the clipper up against him until he
seems comfortable. Do this several times
while constantly reassuring him, before you
begin the first grooming session.

Remove the plastic head guard protecting the
blade. Apply oil across the blades; wipe off
any excess with a dry cloth. Plug the clipper
into electrical outlet; operate on voltage speci­fied for clipper. Push the ON / OFF switch to

Avant d'utiliser la tondeuse ConairPETMC la
première fois, prenez bien connaissance de la
trousse. Elle comprend la tondeuse avec lame
ajustable, des peignes qui se placent sur la
lame, une brosse de lissage, des ciseaux, un
peigne en métal, une brosse de nettoyage et
une huile lubrifiante.

Une bonne surface de travail comme une
table de toilette ou de pique-nique ou un
comptoir est essentielle à la sécurité de votre
animal pendant les soins. Placez un fond

de bain antiglisse ou un tapis à endos de
caoutchouc sur la surface. Gardez les mains
toujours en contact avec l'animal pour éviter
qu'il saute ou tombe et se blesse. Si vous
faites la tonte seul, utilisez un collier et une
courte laisse pour le tenir stable.

L'animal doit être bien brossé, baigné et
séché avant de pouvoir faire une bonne
tonte. Les amas de poils doivent être peignés
et lissés avant d'utiliser la tondeuse sinon
elle ne coupera pas bien. Après avoir baigné
l'animal, séchez-le avec une serviette puis
utilisez un séchoir pour animal. Brossez le
poil tout en le séchant afin de bien le lisser et
d'éliminer tous les amas que vous auriez pu
manquer avant le bain. Uen fois l'animal sec,
assurez-vous que le peigne puisse passer
sans encombre à travers les poils.

Assurez-vous que l'animal ne soit pas effrayé
par la tondeuse la première fois que vous
l'utilisez. Mettez la tondeuse en marche et
tenez-la près de l'animal jusqu'à ce qu'il
s'habitue au son du moteur. Ensuite, tenez
la tondeuse contre l'animal jusqu'à ce qu'il
semble confortable avec ce toucher. Procédez
ainsi à quelques reprises pour le rassurer
avant de commencer la toilette de l'animal.

lames et essuyez l'excédent avec un linge sec.

switch clipper to the OFF position, remove
clippings from the blades, using the clean­ing brush. Wipe the housing clean with a dry
cloth. Before replacing head guard, apply a
few drops of lubricating oil to the blades to
prevent any rust from occurring.

MAINTENANCE OF THE BLADE

Always apply oil to the blades before, during
and after use. This will ensure maximum
cutting performance. Hold clipper away from
your body in a downward position and apply
oil on the front and sides of the cutter blade.
Wipe off excess oil with a soft, dry cloth.

HOW TO USE COMB ATTACHMENTS

Attachment combs serve as clipping/clip­ping guides. The combs are designed to fit
securely over the blades. To fasten comb onto
the blade, turn clipper to the OFF position,
slide the comb onto the front of the clipper
blade, and snap over the back of the blade. To
remove, push up the attachment comb at the
back of the blade and remove the comb.

Eight comb attachments are included:
8 comb attachments -

1/8" (3mm), 1/4" (6mm),
3/8" (9.5mm), 1/2" (13mm),
5/8" (16mm), 3/4" (19mm),
7/8" (22mm), 1" (25mm).

Depending upon the breed and the length of
hair, choose the most appropriate guide.

Increasing blade tension to force blades to
cut can cause the clipper to overheat and
reduce motor life. When the cutting blades no
longer cut smoothly, sharpening is required.

REPLACEMENT (REMOVAL) OF
PGRDC04 BLADE SET

To remove cutting comb and cutter only: turn
the clipper to the OFF position, unplug clipper
from outlet. With the cutting comb and cutter
assembly in place, loosen and remove the
fastening screws from the cutting comb (save
the screws). Remove the cutting comb and
lift the cutter from the plastic drive oscillator
(Fig. 1).

To replace cutting comb and cutter after removal
for cleaning, replacement or because they are
cut off realignment, slide the cutter back onto the
plastic drive oscillator. Next, you must make sure
that the small blade (cutter) and the large blade
(cutting comb) are properly aligned. Line up the
new or existing cutting comb with the two screw
holes. Place the original screws, one in each hole,
and lightly tighten.

Next, match the two blades up, point to point,
conforming with the illustration above (Fig. 2).

*The top edge of the cutting comb should be
1/50" to 1/25" (.65mm to 1mm) higher than
the top edge of the cutter. This is important
so that the clipper does not cut too close, or
come in contact with the skin.

Conair will repair or replace (at our option) your
unit free of charge for 24 months
from the date of purchase if the appliance is de­fective in workmanship or materials. To obtain
service under this warranty, return the defec­tive product to the service centre listed below
together with your purchase receipt and $7.50
for postage and handling. In the absence of a
purchase receipt, the warranty period shall be
24 months from the date of manufacture.

fois les poils tondus, réglez l'interrupteur sur
OFF et nettoyez les poils de la tondeuse avec
la brosse de nettoyage. Appliquez quelques
gouttes d'huile sur les lames avant de remet­tre le protège-lame afin d'éviter qu'elles ne
rouillent.

ENTRETIEN DES LAMES

Huilez toujours les lames avant, pendant et
après l'utilisation. La tondeuse fonctionnera
ainsi toujours à son maximum. Tenez la
tondeuse loin du corps, pointée vers le bas
et appliquez l'huile sur l'avant et les côtés
des lames. Essuyez l'excédent d'huile avec
un linge sec et propre.

UTILISATION DES PEIGNES

Les peignes servent de guides pour la tonte.
Ils sont conçus pour tenir solidement sur
les lames. Pour poser un peigne, éteignez la
tondeuse, glissez le peigne sur l'avant des
lames de la tondeuse et enclenchez-le sur
l'arrière des lames. Pour enlever le peigne,
relevez-le par l'arrière des lames et il se
détachera.

Huit peignes sont fournis avec la tondeuse :

3 mm (1/8 po), 6 mm (1/4 po),

9,5 mm (3/8 po), 13 mm (1/2 po),

16 mm (5/8 po), 19 mm (3/4 po),

22 mm (7/8 po), 25 mm (1 po).

Choisissez le peigne guide approprié en
fonction de la race et de la longueur des poils
de l'animal. Forcer les lames à travers les
poils peut faire surchauffer le moteur et en
réduire la durée utile. Quand les lames de la
tondeuse ne coupent plus bien, vous devrez
les affûter.

REMPLACEMENT (RETRAIT) DES LAMES
DU PGRDC04C

Retrait du peigne et du couteau : éteignez la
tondeuse et débranchez-la de la prise de courant.
Le peigne et le couteau en place, desserrer et
enlever les vis du peigne (conservez les vis). Enlevez
le peigne et séparez le couteau de l'oscillateur en
plastique (ill. 1).

Pour remettre le peigne et le couteau après les
avoir enlever pour les nettoyer, les remplacer ou
les réaligner, glissez le couteau sur l'oscillateur en
plastique. Ensuite, assurez-vous que la petite lame
(couteau) et la grosse lame (peigne de coupe) soient
bien alignés. Alignez le peigne de coupe neuf ou
existant avec les deux trous de vis. Remettez les
vis originales et serrez-les légèrement. Appariez
les deux lames, dent sur dent, comme indiqué sur
l'illustration (ill. 2).

* Le bord supérieur du peigne doit être 0,65 à 1 mm
(1/50 à 1/25 po) plus haut que le rebord supérieur
du couteau. Ceci est important pour que la tondeuse
le coupe pas trop ras ou ne touche pas la peau.

*The extreme left tooth of the cutting comb
must cover or be to the extreme left of the first
small tooth of the cutter.

*Be sure that the extreme right big tooth of the
cutter touches the extreme right tooth of the
cutting comb.

Be sure to add a few drops of Conair PET

TM

Lubricating Oil to the blades before running.
Don't forget to tighten the screws after the
blades have been aligned.

doit couvrir ou se trouver à l'extrême gauche de la
première dent du couteau (petite lame).

* Assurez-vous que la grosse dent à l'extrême droit
du couteau touche la dent extrême droite du peigne
de coupe.

N'oubliez pas d'appliquer quelques gouttes d'huile
lubrifiante ConairPETMC avant de mettre la tondeuse
en marche. N'oubliez pas de bien serrer les vis une
fois les lames alignées.
