MANTENIMIENTO DE LAS CUCHILLAS
Para lograr resultados óptimos, siempre aplique
aceite lubricante en las cuchillas antes, durante y
después del uso. Mantenga el aparato al revés, lejos
de su cuerpo, y aplique aceite sobre y en los lados
de las cuchillas. Limpie el exceso de aceite con un
paño seco y suave.
Cualquier otro servicio debería ser realizado por
un técnico autorizado, puesto que el aparato no
contiene partes que puedan ser reparadas por el
usuario. Este aparato es para uso doméstico única-
mente. No jale, tuerza o enrolle el cable alrededor
del aparato.
ACEITE ESPECIAL
Para mantener las cuchillas de su recortadora en
condición óptima, lubríquelas después de tres o
cuatro cortes de cabello, aplicando unas cuantas
gotas de aceite lubricante en los dientes de las
cuchillas. Encienda la cortadora durante un minuto,
luego apáguela. El aceite lubricante fue específica-
mente diseñado para las cortadoras de alta veloci-
dad de Conair®. Porque es el aceite adecuado, no
reducirá la velocidad de las cuchillas. Nunca use
otro aceite para lubricar su aparato. No hay ningún
substituto al aceite de Conair.

PARA USO SIN CABLE
Su conjunto de peluquería de Conair® tiene todo
lo que usted necesita para cortar su cabello o su
barba de manera profesional, en su casa. Incluye
una potente recortadora recargable con motor de
corriente directa, cuchillas de acero inoxidable
duraderas y precisas, y palanca reguladora con
5 posiciones. Simplemente escoja lo largo del
recorte deseado y la cortadora cortará el pelo al
nivel deseado, cualquier sea lo largo del cabello.
El juego de peluquería también incluye 10 peines-
guías, tijeras de peluquero, un peine de peluquero
con dientes rectas, un peine con dientes ladeadas,
3 pinzas y una práctica caja de almacenamiento.
También se incluye aceite lubricante, un cepillo de
limpieza y una cubierta protectora para mantener
las cuchillas en condición óptima.
Su conjunto también incluye una recortadora para
barba y bigote y 2 guías para barga y bigote.
Este aparato fue diseñado para uso doméstico. Úselo
con Corriente Alterna de 120V (60Hz) únicamente.
1. Cargue el aparato durante 16 horas antes
de usarlo por primera vez.
2. Después de cada uso, apague el aparato (OFF)
y póngalo a cargar, conectando el adaptador
directamente al aparato antes de enchufarlo en
un tomacorriente. El indicador luminoso de carga
se encenderá, lo cual indica que el aparato está
cargando.
3. Después de cargarlo, guarde el aparato en un
lugar seco, fuera del alcance de los niños.
4. No enrolle el cable alrededor del aparato.
PARA USO CON CABLE
1. Conecte el adaptador al aparato.

INSTRUCCIONES DE REMOCIÓN
DE LAS BATERÍAS
1. Apague y desconecte el aparato. Remueva
los tornillos ubicados atrás del aparato con un
destornillador cruciforme.
2. Remueva la parte superior del cuerpo del
aparato.
3. Ahora, la batería está descubierta. Coja los
alambres por ambos lados del conector y
córtelos cuidadosamente. Los conectores se
separarán, lo cual permitirá remover la batería.
Lleve la batería al centro de reciclaje más
cercano o llame a la línea de información
de la RBRC (1-800-8-BATTERY) para más
información. RBRC es una marca registrada
por la Corporación del Reciclaje de las Baterías
Recargables. NO tire la batería con el resto de
las basuras.
No coja la recortadora por el cable. No enrosque
o atranque el cable. Para guardar el cable,
enróllelo sin apretar y asegúrelo con un seguro
de alambre.

EL CABELLO EN SU CASA
Antes de empezar:
1. Inspeccione el aparato para asegurarse que esté
libre de cabello y polvo, que funcione correcta-
mente y que las cuchillas estén lubricadas.
2. Coloque una toalla o una capa de peluquero
alrededor del cuello de la persona a quien le va a
cortar el cabello.
3. Siente a la persona de manera que su cabeza
esté al nivel de sus ojos para mayor visibilidad
y control.
4. Desenrede el cabello, luego coja la recortadora
cómodamente en su mano. Ya está listo/a para
empezar.
CORTES MEDIANOS A LARGOS
Empiece cortando poco cabello, hasta acostum-
brase a cada guía. Use la guía más larga para
empezar, luego use guías más cortas para acortar
el cabello.
• Guía corta (No.1) - corta el cabello a 1⁄8" (3 mm)
• Guía mediana-corta (No.2) - cort a el cabello a
¼" (6 mm)

Para instalar la guía, sos-
téngala cabeza arriba y

NOTA Nunca empuje la recortadora para que corte
más rápidamente. La experiencia profesional dem-
uestra que funciona mejor cuando corta a su propia
velocidad.
Empezar el corte de cabello:
1. Peine el cabello en la direc-
ción de su crecimiento natural.
2. Empiece el recorte a un lado
de la cabeza, usando la guía
más larga, y cortando desde
abajo hacia arriba. Sostenga la
recortadora ligeramente contra
el cabello, con los dientes de la
guía apuntando hacia arriba y
planos contra la cabeza. Pase
la recortadora en el cabello
gradualmente hacia arriba y
hacia fuera, cortando un poco
cabello cada vez. Repita al otro
lado y atrás de la cabeza.
3. Si quiere un corte de cabello
aún más corto, aplique más
presión (esto necesita al prin-
cipio un poco de práctica) o
utilice una guía más corta.
Recuerde: Es mejor dejar el
pelo demasiado largo que
demasiado corto. Si quiere
dejar el cabello más largo enc-
ima de la cabeza, use el peine
de peluquero o sus dedos para
levantar el cabello y corte a lo
largo deseado. Trabaje siempre
desde adelante hacia atrás de
la cabeza y corte el cabello
poco a poco, reduciendo el
espacio entre sus dedos (o
el peine) y la cabeza. Peine
con frecuencia para verificar
que no hay mechones disparejos y para eliminar los
recortes.
CONTORNEO
El contorneo no requiere accesorios. Primero, peine
el cabello como desea. Coloque la recortadora entre
la patilla y la oreja (véase el dibujo), posicionando la
esquina de la cuchilla contra el nacimiento del pelo.
Mueva la recortadora lentamente sobre, alrededor
y atrás de las orejas, siguiendo el contorno del
cabello. Para cortar el pelo en la nuca y las patillas,
sostenga la recortadora al revés (véase el dibujo),
colóquela contra la piel al nivel deseado y muévala
hacia abajo.
DETÉNGASE. PEINE. VERIFIQUE.
Para resultados óptimos, siga el ejemplo de los
profesionales: Peine el cabello con frecuencia para
verificar los resultados. Esto evitará tener lados,
flequillos o líneas de nuca disparejos.
PERFECTOS CORTES CON
CORONILLAS PLANAS, CORTES
MILITARES ETC.
Siempre corte el cabello desde la nuca hasta la
coronilla, usando la guía más larga. Sostenga la
guía contra la cabeza y mueva la recortadora lenta-
mente hacia arriba. Use la misma técnica para los
lados, cortando desde abajo hasta la parte superior
lateral de la cabeza.
Para la parte delantera, corte el cabello en la direc-
ción contraria al crecimiento del pelo, luego iguale
los lados.
Para obtener una coronilla plana, use un peine plano
en vez de una guía y corte el cabello encima del
peine (véase el dibujo).
Para cortar el pelo en la nuca y en las patillas, use
la guía No.1 (Véase “Contorneo”).

RECORTADORA PARA EL CABELLO
CUCHILLAS EXTRAÍBLES
Su cortadora está equipada con cuchillas extraíbles,
para facilitar el mantenimiento, la limpieza, y el
reemplazo de las mismas. Siga
los pasos siguientes para sacar
las cuchillas:
1. Asegúrese que el aparato
esté apagado (OFF).
2. Sostenga la recortadora con
el interruptor adelante y empu-
je las cuchillas hacia arriba con
el pulgar para desencajarlas
(Fig.1).
3) Para volver a instalar las
cuchillas: Asegúrese que la palanca reguladora esté
en la posición más larga. Sostenga la cortadora con
la parte trasera adelante y enganche las cuchillas
en su lugar hasta que calce emitiendo un chasquido
(Fig.2).
PALANCA REGULADORA AJUSTABLE
Al igual que las recortadoras profesionales, su cortadora
tiene una palanca reguladora ajustable al nivel del
pulgar, la cual permite controlar lo largo del recorte a
medida que corta el cabello.
La palanca reguladora le permite cortar el cabello más
corto o más largo, sin que tenga que usar un peine
accesorio. Para cortar el cabello más corto, deslice
la palanca hacia arriba. Para cortar el cabello más
largo, deslice la palanca lentamente hacia abajo. El
ajuste más largo dejará el
cabello tan corto como la
guía más corta.
El usar la palanca
reguladora prolongará la
vida útil de las cuchillas,
puesto que nunca usan
el mismo ángulo para
cortar. Su recortadora
puede perder velocidad si recortes de cabello están
trabados en las cuchillas. Para limpiarlas sin tener que
removerlas, siga el ejemplo de los profesionales: Deje
la recortadora encendida, mueva la palanca reguladora
desde arriba hasta abajo varias veces.
Hacer esto después de cada uso, especialmente cuando
se corta mucho cabello, mantendrá las cuchillas en
condición óptima. Si la recortadora deja de funcionar,
y que esto no soluciona el problema, desenchúfela y
afloje las cuchillas para limpiarlas.
Si la cortadora deja de cortar y que esto no ayuda,
inspeccione las cuchillas. Cámbielas si están embota-
das. Puede pedir nuevas cuchillas por correo, man-
dando un cheque o un giro postal de $6,50US (incluye
gastos de envío y manejo) a la dirección más abajo.

1. Remueva la cubierta del
compartimiento de las
pilas, oprimiendo la parte
trasera del aparato y desl-
izándola hacia atrás.
2. Instale dos pilas de tipo
AA, respetando los signos

Your new Conair Combo Cut Haircut Kit has
everything you need to achieve professional haircuts
and a facial trimming at home. Its powerful D.C.
motor clipper with High Carbon Stainless Steel
blades for long lasting cutting precision, features
a new 5-position adjustamatic taper control. Plus,
Turbo button for more cutting power. What ever
hair length you set the lever for, the clipper will
automatically cut all hair in that section at the same
desired length.
Also included are 10 attachment combs for different

THE CONAIR GUIDE
TO CUTTING HAIR AT HOME
Before you start:
1. Inspect your clipper to make sure it is free of
hair and dirt, is properly oiled and is running
smoothly.
2. Place a towel or cape around the neck of the
person getting the haircut.
3. Seat the person so that his/her head is at your
eye level. This gives you greater visibility and
control.
4. Comb hair until it is tangle-free. Hold the clipper in
a comfortable grip. Now you’re ready to cut.
MEDIUM TO LONG CUT
To begin, cut only a small amount of hair until you
become used to the length each attachment leaves
the hair. Try the longest attachment on the clipper
first. If you want a shorter cut, you can then use
shorter combs.
• Short attachment comb (number 1) cuts hair to
1/8".
• Medium-Short attachment comb (number 2)
cuts hair to 1/4".
• Medium-Long attachment comb (number 3) cuts
hair to 3/8".
• Long attachment comb (number 4) cuts hair to
1/2".
• Long attachment comb (number 5) cuts hair to
5/8".
• Long attachment comb (number 6) cuts hair to
3/4".
• Long attachment comb (number 7) cuts hair to
7/8”.
• Long attachment comb (number 8) cuts hair to 1"
• Left ear attachment comb lightly tapers over
left ear.
• Right ear attachment comb lightly tapers over
right ear.
Attach combs by holding
them teeth up then snapping onto the bottom of
the clipper blade.
NOTE: Never push or
shove the clipper through
the hair to make it move
more quickly. Pro fes sional experience shows that
the clipper works most efficiently when it cuts
through the hair at its own speed.
To remove comb attach-
ments, place index finger
and thumb as illustrated;
then pull out and up.
To begin cutting hair:
1. The hair should be combed
in its natural direction.
2. Using the largest at tachment
comb, trim sides from the
bottom upwards. Hold clipper
lightly against the hair with
teeth of the attachment comb
pointing upward, yet flat
against the head. Gradually
lift the clipper upward and
outward through the hair,
trimming just a little at a
time. Re peat around sides
and back of head.
3. If you want hair to be even
shorter: Apply more pressure to the head with the
attachment comb that is in
place. This takes a little practice, of course. Or, just switch
to a shorter attachment comb.
Remember, it’s better to leave
too much hair than too little.
For longer hair on top, use the
barber comb and lift hair on
the top of the head, cutting
over the comb, or hold hair
between fingers and cut to
desired length. Always working from the front to the back
of the head, gradually cut the
hair shorter by reducing the
space between the comb or
fingers and the head. Comb
often to check for uneven strands, and to get rid
of trimmed hair. For thicker hair and more cutting power, press the turbo button on the side.
OUTLINING
Outlining requires no attachments. Comb the hair
into the desired style, Position the clipper between
the sideburns and the ear (see sketch) and make
sure the corner edge of the blade is against the
hairline. With the outline of the hair as your guide,
slowly move the clipper over, around and behind the
ears. For the back of the neck and the sideburns,
hold the clipper upside down (see sketch) and, holding it against the skin at the length desired, move
the clipper downward.
STOP. COMB. CHECK.
For best results, do as the professionals do: comb the
hair often and check results as you comb. This way
you can avoid uneven sides, bangs, neckline, etc.
SHORTCUTS TO PERFECT FLAT
TOPS, CREW CUTS, ETC.
Always cut the hair from the back of the
neck toward the crown, using the longest
comb setting. Hold the comb attachment flat against
the head and slowly move the clipper up through the
hair. Use the same technique for the sides, cutting
from the bottom to the upper side of the head.
For the front of the crown, cut the hair against its
natural direction. Then even it up with the sides.
For a flat top use a flat comb, not the attachment
comb. Just cut top hair by running the clipper over
the comb.
To taper hair down to the neckline, use the lower
settings attachment comb. Comb the hair and check
for uneven spots. Outline the sideburns and neckline
areas (see Outlining).

CARE OF YOUR CLIPPERS
DETACHABLE BLADE SET
Your clipper is equipped with
a detachable blade set for
routine maintenance, cleaning and replacement.
To remove the blade: the
front of the clipper should be
facing you, push up under
the blade with your thumb
and the blade will pop-out
(Fig. 1).
To replace the blade: Make
sure the taper control is set
to the longest position and
with the back of the clipper facing you, insert the
bottom side (with screws) of the blade into the clipper and push down until it snaps into place (Fig. 2).
MAINTENANCE OF THE BLADE
Always apply oil to the blades before, during and
after use. This will ensure maximum cutting performance. Hold clipper away from your body in a
downward position and apply oil on the front and
sides of the cutter blade. Wipe excess oil off with a
soft, dry cloth.
Any other servicing should be performed by an
authorized service representative or that the appliance has no user serviceable parts. The product is
for household use. Do not pull, twist, or wrap line
cord around appliance

To maintain the blades of your Conair® clipper in
peak condition, oil them after every three or four
haircuts. Gently place a few drops of oil on the
teeth of the blades, using the special Conair oil
included with your set. Turn the clipper on for a
minute, then turn off. This light, natural oil was
formulated specifically for the Conair
®
high-speed
clipper. Be cause it is the right oil to use, it will not
slow down the blades. Never use any other product;
there is no substitute for Conair oil. Keep oil away
from children.
ADJUSTABLE TAPER LEVER
5 DETENT TAPER CONTROL
Just like levers on professional clippers, the Conair
taper lever is positioned at your thumb so you can
hold the clipper in your hand and adjust the lever
at the same time...while you’re clipping. This taper
lever eliminates the need in some situations for
an attachment comb because it lets you gradually
adjust the closeness of the cut. For the closest cut
and the shortest hair, push taper lever up as far as
it will go to level #1. To
increase cutting length,
slowly push lever down.
If you push to the lowest position level #5, it
will leave hair about the
same length as the short
attachment comb.
Because a different cutting edge is used in each
setting, the taper lever lengthens the life of your
blades. Packed-in hair can slow down any clipper.
To remove it, without removing the blades. Take
your cleaning brush and brush the hair from the
blades. If you do this after every clipping, especially
with heavy hair cutting, the blades should remain
free of cut hair. If clipper stops cutting and this
action doesn’t help, you might have to loosen the
blades to remove the hair.

TRIMMER OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Remove the battery cover
by rotating the bottom
cap to the left and lifting
straight off.
2. Being careful not to bend
the clips, insert the positive end of the battery
first, so it will slip easily
into position.
3. Return the battery cover to its original position by
pushing it in and rotating clockwise until you hear
a small click as it locks into place.
4. To use your trimmer, push ON/OFF switch upwards
to ON position.
5. After you finish using your trimmer, push down on
the ON/OFF switch to turn the trimmer off.
*The Trimmer requires 1 “AA” battery (not included).
We recommend using alkaline batteries in your
trimmer because they last longer. If you are not
going to use your trimmer for a long period of time,
or if the battery is dead, remove the battery from the
unit. This will increase the life of your trimmer.

TO TRIM YOUR BEARD
1. To use the 5-position
comb, slide it over the
trimmer blades and snap
down into position. At first,
until you become familiar
with the adjustments, use
the longest comb and
trim setting (5/8”). (You
can always go back and
make your beard a little
shorter.)
2. Begin trimming your
beard using smooth,
even strokes. Start with
your sideburns and work
downward toward your chin. (Never attempt to
trim against the natural growth of your beard,
because the hair will be cut too short.)
3. If you decide you want a closer trim, you can now
adjust the 5-position comb to a shorter setting
and go over your beard again until you achieve
the desired length.
TO TRIM YOUR MUSTACHE
1. For best results, start with
a clean, slightly damp
mustache.
2. Comb through your mus-
tache in the direction it
grows.
3. Place the 5-position comb
over the trimmer blades and snap it into position.
It is a good idea to start with the longest trim setting
adjustment. (You can always go back and cut your
mustache more closely with a shorter setting.)

Because the trimmer blades are precision made for
a very special use, they should always be handled
with care. Each time you finish using the trimmer,
take the cleaning brush provided and brush away
any loose hair that has collected in the blades.

GROWING A BEARD
OR MUSTACHE
There are three key factors that determine which
beard or mustache style is most suitable for your
face:
1. The shape and dimensions of your face.
2. The natural growth of your beard/mustache.
3. The thickness of your beard/mustache.
If you are unsure of the type of beard or mustache
that most suits your face, speak with a professional
hair stylist and ask for an opinion on what style
would be best. Once your beard or mustache has
been styled, it is essential that you maintain its
appearance. To do this, use your trimmer to trim
your beard/mustache weekly.
For the best trimming results, your beard should be
slightly damp (not wet) before using the trimmer.
This will prevent the trimmer from removing more
hair than desired.
GETTING STARTED
OUTLINING YOUR BEARD
1. It is always best to begin with a clean, slightly
damp beard.
2. After you have combed through
your beard in the direction it
grows naturally, you will want
to outline the desired shape,
beginning under your jawline.
3. Begin defining your beard’s
shape under your chin and
work upward on each side of your face toward
your ears. Then define the upper outline of your
beard across your cheeks, past your sideburns
and toward your hairline.
