DE USO
Este aparato fue diseñado para uso domés-
tico. Úselo solamente con Corriente Alterna
(60 hertzios). Los secadores estándares
están diseñados para funcionar con
Corriente Alterna de 110 a 125 voltios.

Este aparato tiene un enchufe polarizado (un
polo es más ancho que otro). Como medida
de seguridad, se podrá enchufar de una sola
manera en la toma de corriente polarizada. Si
no entra por completo, inviértelo. Si aún no
entra completamente, llame a un electricista
calificado. No intente vencer esta función de
seguridad.
GUÍA DE OPERACIÓN
1. Jale el cable cuidadosamente. Deje de

GUÍA DE OPERACIÓN PARA EL
SECADOR DE 1875 VATIOS
Usar este aparato en el mismo circuito o en
el mismo fusible con otros aparatos o elec-
trodomésticos puede activar el interruptor de
circuito de 15 amp. o quemar un fusible de
15 amp. NUNCA reemplace el fusible por uno
de mayor capacidad que la del circuito, ya
que pudiera producir un incendio eléctrico.
PRUEBE EL SISTEMA DE SEGURIDAD ALCI
ANTES DE CADA USO
Este aparato está dotado de un sistema de
detección del agua ALCI (Appliance
Leakage Circuit Interrupter). Aquel sistema
de seguridad apaga el secador en caso de
que ocurran situaciones anormales, como
inmersión en el agua. Haga la prueba sigu-
iente para asegurarse que el sistema de
detección de agua funcione correctamente.
1. Enchufe el aparato y apriete el botón de
prueba (véase el gráfico más abajo).
2. El aparato dejará de funcionar, se oirá un
clic y el botón de reajuste saltará.
3. Para reajustar el enchufe, asegúrese que el
aparato está desenchufado, luego apriete el
botón de reajuste y vuelva a enchufar el
aparato.
4. En caso de que el ALCI no esté funcio-
nando correctamente, lleve su aparato
adonde lo ha comprado o a un centro de
servicio autorizado.
5. Si el aparato cae al agua, es muy impor-
tante que lo lleve a un centro de servicio. No
intente reajustarlo.
6. Pruebe el sistema de detección del agua
antes de cada uso para asegurarse que está
operativo.
Si el secador se apaga y el indicador lumi-
noso del ALCI se prende o si el enchufe
salta durante el uso, esto puede indicar un
mal funcionamiento. En tal caso, des-
enchufe el aparato y déjelo enfriar, luego
vuelva a enchufarlo. El aparato debería fun-
cionar normalmente. En el caso contrario,
regréselo a la tienda donde lo compró para
que lo revisen y lo reparen.

FUNDAMENTOS DEL SECADO
1. Lave y acondicione el cabello con los
productos de su elección. Enjuague com-
pletamente. Seque con una toalla para
eliminar el exceso de agua. Divida el cabel-
lo. Usando el secador y un cepillo de mod-
elado simultáneamente, dirija el aire
caliente hacia cada sección de cabello por
separado. Mueva el secador regularmente
por cada sección de modo que el aire
caliente pase por el cabello. Dirija el flujo
de aire al cabello, no al cuero cabelludo.
2. El generador de iones produce nubes de
iones negativos que ayudan a reducir la
electricidad estática y el encrespamiento al
mismo tiempo que agregan brillo.
3. Mantenga las entradas de aire del aparato
sin obstrucciones y libres de cabello mientras
lo esté usando.
4. Para evitar el secado excesivo o daños al
cabello o a la piel, no concentre el calor
en sólo una sección durante un tiempo
prolongado. Mantenga el secador en
movimiento mientras modela.
5. Para realizar retoques rápidos entre lava-
dos, rocíe un poco de agua sobre el cabello
antes de modelar con el secador.
6. Cuando use el secador para crear bucles y
ondas, seque el cabello casi por completo a
una mayor temperatura, luego termine el
modelado con aire frío.
CUERPO Y VOLUMEN
Para crear mayor volumen, voltee la cabeza
hacia abajo mientras seca. Dirija el flujo de
aire a la raíz del cabello para obtener el máx-
imo volumen. Una vez que el cabello esté
seco, vuelva la cabeza hacia atrás y peine el
cabello en la forma deseada.
ALISADO
Para crear una apariencia súper lisa, traba-
je con secciones de cabello. Usando un
cepillo redondo grande (aproximadamente
5cm de diámetro), estire cada sección de
cabello y doble un poco las puntas hacia
abajo mientras seca.

INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance is intended for household use
only. Use on Alternating Current (60 hertz)
only. Standard Dryers are designed to operate
at 110 to 125 volts A.C. For special dual voltage dryers, see Additional Information.
This appliance has a polarized plug (one
blade is wider than the other). As a safety
feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet
only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in
the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not
fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not
attempt to defeat this safety feature.
OPERATING GUIDE
1. Pull cord out slowly from dryer. Stop
pulling when you see the red mark. DO
NOT JERK CORD.
2. Plug in dryer, then turn on heat/speed
switch.
3. To retract cord, hold dryer vertically
upright and away from your face. Grasp the
plug with one hand, then press and hold the
retract button with the other. Guide the cord
and keep it from twisting. If the cord does
not retract completely, pull it out slightly and
wind it again guiding it into the reel. DO NOT
RETRACT CORD WHILE DRYER IS PLUGGED
IN. DO NOT ALLOW SMALL CHILDREN TO
HANDLE THE RETRACTIVE POWER CORD AS
THIS MAY CAUSE THE CORD TO “WHIP”
AND CAUSE INJURY.

Use of this dryer on the same circuit or fuse
with other electrical products or appliances
may trip a 15 amp circuit breaker or blow a
15 amp fuse. NEVER replace the fuse with
one rated higher than the capacity of the
circuit. Doing so could result in an electrical fire.
CHECK ALCI SAFETY FEATURE EVERY
TIME YOU USE DRYER.
This hair dryer is equipped with an Appliance
Leakage Circuit Interrupter (ALCI), a safety
feature that renders it inoperable under
some abnormal conditions, such as immersion in water.
To make sure the ALCI is functioning properly, perform the following test: The purpose of
this test is to allow you to make sure the
exclusive water sensing system (ALCI) is
working.
1. Plug in hair dryer and press test button on
plug (see appropriate diagram below).
2. Hair dryer will stop working. There will be
an audible click and a reset button will pop
out.
3. To reset ALCI with a reset button: Unit
should be unplugged. Then push reset button
in, and reinsert plug into outlet.
4. If ALCI is not functioning properly,
return hair dryer to an authorized Conair
service center.
5. It is important that if immersion occurs,
this unit be brought to a service center. Do
not try to reset.
6. Be sure to repeat test every time you use
hair dryer to confirm ALCI is operational.
Should the dryer go off and the ALCI reset
button pop up during use, this could indicate
a malfunction in the dryer.
Remove plug from outlet and allow the dryer
to cool. Push reset button in and reinsert plug
into outlet. Dryer should function normally. If
not, return to an authorized Conair Service
Center for examination and repair.

DRYING BASICS
1. Shampoo and condition hair with Conair
®
or Jheri Redding®products of your choice.
Rinse thoroughly. Towel blot hair to remove
excess moisture. Section hair. Using the dryer
along with your styling brush, direct hot air
through a section of hair at a time. Move dryer
steadily across each section so that the hot air
passes through hair. Direct air flow at hair not
scalp.
2. Built-in ion generator creates clouds of
negatively charged ions that will help reduce
static electricity, control frizzy flyaways and
contribute to your hair’s shine.
3. Keep dryer’s air intake vents unobstructed
and free from hair while drying.
4. To avoid over drying, do not concentrate
heat on any one section for any length of

5. For quick touch ups, between shampoos,
dampen hair with a mist of water before
styling with the dryer.
6. When using your dryer to create curls and
waves, dry hair almost completely on a
warmer temperature setting, then finish

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
FOR DUAL-VOLTAGE DRYERS
For use in the U.S.A., the voltage selector
switch should be placed in the 125 position.
For use in several countries overseas, the
voltage selector may need to be placed in the
250 position. Confirm the voltage available at
each overseas location before using the
appliance. For connection to a 250 volt sup-
ply, use an attachment plug adapter of the
proper configuration for the power supply
receptacle.
For 125 Volt Operation
Flick the dual voltage switch to the 125 position.
In this position, the dryer operates in all available
heat and speed settings.
For 250 Volt Operation
First put the HI-LO switch into LO. Flick the
dual voltage switch to the 250 position. At
250 while set at LO, the dryer operates only
at high speed with high heat. Do not attempt
to operate the HI-LO switch or change to
125 when operating on 220-250V. The
switches must be set and remain in the LO
and 250 positions. A plug adapter may be
necessary in certain countries.
USER
MAINTENANCE
Your dryer is virtually maintenance free. No
lubrication is needed. For proper operating
performance, the dryer must be kept clean.
When cleaning is needed, unplug the cord,
and clean dust and lint from air intake
openings with a small brush or the brush
attachment of a vacuum cleaner. The outer
surface of the dryer should be wiped clean
with a cloth only.
Blocked or clogged air intake vents will
cause the dryer to overheat. If overheating
occurs, an automatic safety device will shut
the dryer or the heat off to prevent damage
or personal injury. If the unit or the heat
cycles off, unplug the cord and allow the
dryer to cool for 10 to 15 minutes before
restarting. Make sure the air vents are clean.
CAUTION
NEVER allow the power supply cord to be
pulled, twisted, or severely bent. Never wrap
the cord tightly around the dryer. Damage
will occur at the high flex point of entry into
the dryer, causing it to rupture and short.
Inspect the cord frequently for damage. Stop
use immediately if damage is visible or
unit stops or operates intermittently.
If the cord or dryer is damaged or does not
operate properly, return it for repair to an
authorized Conair service representative
only. No repairs should be attempted by
the consumer.
STORAGE - Important
When not in use, your dryer should be dis-
connected, the cord retracted, allowed to
cool and stored in a safe, dry location, out of
reach of children. Do not wrap line cord
around dryer.
LIMITED TWO YEAR WARRANTY
Conair will repair or replace, at our option,
your appliance free of charge for 24 months
from the date of purchase if the appliance is
defective in workmanship or materials.
To obtain service under this warranty, return
the defective product to the service center
nearest you, together with your sales slip and
$3.00 for postage and handling. California
residents need only provide proof of pur-
chase and should call 1-800-3-CONAIR for
shipping instructions. In the absence of a
receipt, the warranty period shall be 24
months from the date of manufacture.

Operación 110-125 Voltios

Blocked or clogged air intake will cause the
dryer to overheat. If overheating occurs, an
automatic safety device will shut the dryer or
the heat off
to prevent damage or personal
injury. If the unit or the heat cycles off,
unplug the cord and allow the dryer to cool
for 10 to 15 minutes before restarting.
Make sure the air vents are clean.
INSTRUCCIONES DE
MANTENIMIENTO
Su secador casi no necesita mantenimiento.
No necesita lubricación. Para que funcione
correctamente, debe mantenerlo limpio.
Cuando sea necesario limpiarlo, desenchúfelo y saque el polvo y las pelusas de
las aberturas de aire con un cepillo pequeño
o el cepillo accesorio de una aspiradora. La
superficie exterior del secador sólo se debe
limpiar con un paño húmedo.
El secador se recalentará si las aberturas
de aire estén bloqueadas u obstruidas. En
tal caso, un sistema de seguridad automático
apagará el secador o cortará la temperatura
para evitar daños o lesiones personales. Si
esto sucede, desenchufe el aparato y deje
que se enfríe durante unos 10 a 15 minutos
antes de encenderlo de nuevo. Asegúrese
que las ventilaciones de aire estén limpias.
PRECAUCIÓN
NUNCA jale, retuerza ni doble mucho el cable
eléctrico. Nunca lo enrolle con fuerza alrededor del secador, ya que pudiera dañar la junta
flexible que lo conecta al secador, produciendo así su ruptura o un cortocircuito.
Inspeccione el cable con frecuencia para asegurarse que no está dañado. Deje de usar el

ALMACENAJE - Importante
Cuando no lo utiliza, debe desconectar el
aparato, dejarlo enfriar y guardarlo en un
lugar seco y seguro, fuera del alcance de
los niños. No enrolle el cable alrededor del
aparato. Deje que el cable cuelgue o esté
suelto y recto donde está conectado con el
secador.

Conair reparará o remplazará (a su opción) su
aparato sin cargo por un período de 24 meses
