IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR CONAIR GARMENT STEAMER
• This steamer is designed to be used on the floor. Do not put on a table or chair when in use.
• This appliance emits HOT steam during use. DO NOT TOUCH T-Nozzle where steam is emitted during use.
• Do not operate steamer without correctly filling the water container. The steamer should only be filled with water before plugging in the appliance.
• Always unplug the steamer from the power outlet before filling or emptying the water tank.
• Do not overfill the steamer, since it can cause hot water to boil out and burn.
• Only use clean cold water for filling this appliance. In hard water areas, we recommend the use of distilled water.
• Never use any other liquids (i.e starch) other than water in this applaince
• Never drop or insert any objects into any openings or hose .
• Always keep the hose and nozzle elevated above the water container.
• Before unit is turned on, the hose must be extended, and hanging on the door hook provided
• Do not place the steam nozzle directly onto any surface or on the appliance power cord while it is hot or plugged in.
• Use caution when changing the attachments, as they may have hot water or condensation on them from the nozzle. Attachments should never be placed on the nozzle when in use or preheating. Always ensure the steamer is switched off and the nozzle has cooled down before changing the attachments.
• Attachments may get hot during use. Allow them to cool before storing.
• When emitting steam, this appliance may cause burns if it is used too close to the skin or eyes, or if it is used incorrectly. To reduce
Page 3
the risk of contact with hot water emitting from the steam vents, test appliance before use by holding it away from the body.
• Do not steam garments while on a person.
• Burns could occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water or steam. Use care when you turn steam appliance upside down – there may be hot water in the reservoir.
• Use caution when carrying steamer, as it contains hot water.
• Hose will be hot when in use. Avoid prolonged contact to avoid burns.
When using electrical appliances, especially when children are present, basic safety instructions should always be followed, including the following:
• Polythene bags over product or package may be dangerous. To avoid danger of suffocation, keep this wrapper away from babies and children. This bag is not a toy.
• Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquids.

• Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
• Never yank the cord to disconnect from the power outlet, instead grasp plug and pull to disconnect.
• Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, or if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water. Do not attempt to repair the appliance. Incorrect reassembly or repair could cause a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons when the appliance is used. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
• While it is not recommended, if an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a 15 amp rated power cord should be used. Cords rated for less amperage may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the power cord so that the cord cannot be pulled or tripped over.
• Always ensure that the voltage to be used corresponds to the voltage marked on the unit.
• For additional protection, the installation of a residual device (RCD) with a rated operating current not exceeding 30mA is advisable in the electrical current supplying the bathroom and other parts of the home. Ask your installer for advice.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
FILLING THE WATER RESERVOIR (PRIOR TO PLUGGING IN THE APPLIANCE)
Remove the hose cap. Fill the reservoir with clean tap water to the desired level or until water reaches “25 MAX” line on the side of unit. DO NOT OVERFILL as this will cause water to boil out of steamer and spill. Empty until water is level with “25 MAX” .
DO NOT FILL THE CONTAINER WITH HOT WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID, ADDITIVE OR CHEMICAL.
OPERATING THE STEAMER
1. Over-the-door hanger accessory: hang this over the top of your
door and use to hang the T-nozzle and any garment or hanger. (Overloading may cause deformation of door hook.)
2. Make sure the I/O switch is in the “0” position.
3. Make sure all hose connections are secure and tight
4. Hang the T-nozzle off the door hook.
5. Plug the cord into a 230/240V electrical outlet.
6. Turn the I/O switch to the “I” position.
7. The switch will light to indicate when power is on and the steamer
will begin heating.
8. Steam will be produced from the nozzle in about ve to six
minutes. Be sure to keep T-nozzle on the door hook while heating up.
NOTE : This steamer is designed to sit on the floor. Do not put on a table or chair when in use.

OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES
During operation, the steamer hose may gurgle. This is a normal result of condensation collecting inside the hose. Simply lift the «T-Handle» upward until the hose is extended to its full height. The gurgling will disappear when the excess moisture inside the hose has had a chance to drain back into the base.
CAUTION: Hose will be hot when in use. Avoid prolonged contact.
Page 9
HOW TO STEAM
Grasp the «T-Handle» steam nozzle with the steam jets facing away from you. Begin at the bottom of the fabric to allow the steam to rise inside and outside, removing wrinkles. Slowly move the nozzle from the bottom to the top of the fabric. Remove the nozzle from the garment and smooth the fabric with your free hand. Some fabrics are best steamed on the underside of the material. This will allow the bre of the fabric to relax, eliminating wrinkles.
NOTE: Test fabric for colour fastness in an inconspicuous spot. Drape linens, towels, handkerchiefs and napkins over a rod or place onto a towel rack. Holding fabric taut whilst steaming will increase effectiveness. You can place steam nozzle directly onto fabric whilst steaming except for velvet, silk or delicate fabrics. Heavier fabrics may require repeated steaming. Repeat as necessary. With practice, you will gain speed and efciency. You will soon learn which fabrics require multiple steam applications.
Do not directly touch velvet or silk with the steam head.
NOTE: Always steam with hose in upright position, so any condensation is free to flow back into the steamer.
If you steam in a low position, condensation will collect inside the hose. This will cause gurgling and some water droplets to form near the steam jets on the «T» handle. To avoid this, frequently lift the steam handle upward until the hose is extended to its full height.

TO STEAM CURTAINS:
Wash and dry curtains as directed according to fabric type. Re-hang curtains and steam when in place.
CLEANING AND STORING:
1. Turn the I/O switch to the “0” position and unplug from the
power outlet
2. Wait for the steamer to cool completely for at least 30 minutes.
3. Unplug power cord and gently wrap around built-in cord wrap
underneath.
4. Remove excess water from the reservoir by lifting the unit and
pouring down a drain.
5. Wrap hose around container and replace T-nozzle in its cradle.
(as shown)

DECALCIFICATION
If the appliance begins to produce steam more slowly than usual, if the steamer stops producing steam and then starts again, you may need to decalcify your steamer. Decalcication refers to removing the calcium deposits which form over time on the metal parts of the steamer. For best performance from your Conair Garment Steamer, decalcify the unit from time to time. The frequency depends upon the hardness of your tap water and how often you use the steamer. To decalcify, use a solution of 1/3 white vinegar and 2/3 water in the water reservoir. Plug the unit into electrical outlet. Turn to the ON position and run until half the amount has steamed. Turn the unit to the OFF position, unplug from electrical outlet, and allow to sit for 30 minutes. Remove excess water from the reservoir by lifting the unit, inverting and pouring the water over sink, and allowing water to drain from internal reservoir. Repeat the above procedure as many times as necessary until a normal steam rate returns, usually 2-3 times. With each repeated cycle, use a fresh solution of vinegar and water. Run one cycle of fresh, cold water through the unit at the completion of decalcication, before using the unit again to steam garments.
