OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance is intended for household use onl y. Use
on Alternating Current (6 0 hertz) only. Standard dryers
are designed to operate at 110 to 125 volts A.C.
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider
than the other). As a safet y feature, this plug will fit in
a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fi t
fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. I f it still does not fit,
contact a qualified electri cian. Do not attempt to defeat
this safety feature.
IMPORTANT
1875 WATT OPERATING GUIDE
Use of this dryer on the same circuit or fuse
with other electrical products or appliances may
trip a 15 amp circuit breaker or blow a 15 amp
fuse. NEVER replace the fus e with one rated
higher than the capacity of the circuit. Doing
so could result in an elec trical fire.
CHECK ALCI SAFET Y FEATURE EVERY
TIME YOU USE APPLIANCE
This appliance is equipped with an Applia nce
Leakage Circuit Interrupter ( ALCI), a safety feat ure
that renders it inoperable under some a bnormal
conditions, such as immersion in water. To make
sure the ALCI is functioning p roperly, perform the
following test. The purpose of t his test is to allow
you to make sure the water sensing system ( ALCI)
is working.
1. Plug in the appliance and press test butt on on
plug (see appropriate diagram below).
2. The appliance will stop working. Th ere will be an
audible click and reset button will pop ou t.
3. To reset ALCI, unit should be unplugged. T hen
push reset button in and reinser t plug into outlet.
4. If ALCI is not functi oning properly, return
appliance to nearest service center.
5. It is important that if immersion oc curs, this unit
be brought to a service center. Do not tr y to reset.
6. Be sure to repeat test every time you use the uni t
to confirm ALCI is opera tional.
Should the appliance go off and the r eset button
pop up during use, this could indicate a malfunc tion
in the unit. Remove plug from outlet and allow t he
appliance to cool. Reinsert plug into o utlet.
The appliance should then function n ormally. If not,
return to an authorized Conair S ervice Center for
evaluation and repair.
SUPER STYLING GUIDE
Your best looks begin with a good haircut t hat’s well
maintained. Always treat hair righ t with superior quality
shampoos, conditioners, and fi nishing products.
DRYING BASICS
1. Shampoo and condition hair with product s of your
choice. Rinse thoroughly. Towel dry hair to remove
excess moisture. Using the dryer along w ith your
styling brush, star t at a lower setting and direct
hot air through a section of hair at a time. M ove
dryer steadily across each sect ion so that the hot
air passes through hair. Direct air flow at hair, not
scalp. Clouds of negatively charged ion s will help
to reduce static electricit y, control frizzy flyaways
and contribute to your hair’s shine.
2. Keep dryer’s air intake vents unobst ructed and
free from hair while drying.
3. To avoid over-drying, do not concentrate heat on
any one section for an extended leng th of time.
Keep dryer moving as you style. Fo r pinpoint
airflow, use the snap-on conc entrator attachment.
4. For quick touch ups between shampo os,
dampen hair with a mist of water before s tyling
with the dryer.
5. When using your dryer to create curls and waves ,
dry hair almost completely on a warmer temp erature
setting with the snap- on diffuser attachment, the n
finish styling with cold shot fea ture to quickly close
hair shaft and lock in style.

To create extra volume, turn
head upside down while drying.
Position the airflow toward the
roots for maximum lift. When
hair is dry, toss head back and
brush hair into place.
STRAIGHTENING
Work with hair in sections when
creating a super-straight look.
Using a large round brush

hold hair taut in each section
and bend ends slightly under
as you dry.

DE OPERACIÓN
Para uso doméstico solamente. Utilícelo solamente con
corriente alterna (60 Hz). Este aparato ha sido diseñado
para funcionar con corriente de 110–125V CA.
El cable de este aparato está dotado de una clavija
polarizada (una pata es más ancha que otra). Como
medida de seguridad, se podrá enchufar de una sola
manera en la toma de corriente polarizada. Si no entrara
en la toma de corriente, inviértela. Si aún no entrara
completamente, comuníquese con un electricista. No
intente ir en contra de esta función de seguridad.

PRUEBE EL INTERRUPT OR DE CONTROL DE
POTENCIA ANTES DE CADA USO
Este aparato está dotado de un interruptor de
control de potencia (ALCI por sus siglas en inglés)
que apaga el aparato inmediatamente si éste cae al
agua. Haga la prueba siguiente antes de cada uso
para asegurarse de que el interruptor de control
de potencia y el sistema de detección de agua
funcionen debidamente:
1. Enchufe el aparato y apriete el botón de prueba
(véase el gráfico más abajo).
2. El aparato dejará de funcionar. Se oirá un clic y el
botón de reinicio saltará.
3. Para reajustarlo, desconecte el aparato. Oprima el
botón de reajuste y vuelva a conectar el cable.
4. Si el interruptor de c ontrol de potencia no
funcionara correctamente, regrese el aparato
a un centro de servi cio autorizado.
5. Si el aparato cayera al agua, es muy importante
que lo regrese a un centro de servicio autorizado.
No intente reajustarlo.
6. Pruebe el interruptor de control de potencia
antes de cada uso para asegurarse de que esté
operativo.
Si el secador se apagara y el botón de reinicio
saltara durante el uso, esto podría indicar un mal
funcionamiento. Si esto ocurriera, desconecte el
aparato y permita que enfríe. Conecte el cable a la

GUÍA PARA UN SÚPER PE INADO
La mejor apariencia empieza por un corte de cabello
bien mantenido. Siempre cuide su cabello con
champúes, acondicionadores y productos de peinado
de calidad superior.
FUNDAMENTOS DEL SECADO
1. Lave y acondicione su cabello con los productos
deseados. Enjuague bien. Séquelo con una toalla
para eliminar el exceso de agua. Seque el cabello
usando simultáneamente el secador y un cepillo.
Coloque el cepillo debajo de cada sección de
cabello y dirija el flujo de aire tibio hacia la parte
superior del cabello. Mueva el secador lenta
y simultáneamente hasta las puntas. Dirija el
flujo de aire hacia el cabello, no hacia el cuero
cabelludo. Su secador genera iones negativos que
ayudan a reducir la estática y el frizz, mientras
agregan brillo.
2. Mantenga las entradas de aire del aparato sin
obstrucciones y libres de cabello.
3. Para no lastimar el cabello, no concentre el flujo
de aire en una sección solamente. Mueva el
secador constantemente. Para más precisión,
utilice el concentrador de aire.
4. Para realizar retoques rápidos entre lavados, rocíe
un poco de agua sobre el cabello antes de secarlo.
5. Cuando use el secador para crear bucles y ondas,
seque el cabello casi por completo usando
eldifusor de aire con aire tibio,
y luego fije el
peinado usando el disparo de aire frío.

cabello, incline la cabeza hacia
delante durante el secado. Dirija
el flujo de aire hacia la raíz para

INSTRUCCIONES DE
MANTENIMIENTO
Su secador requiere poco mantenimiento.
No necesita lubricación. Para que funcione
correctamente, debe mantenerlo limpio.
Cuando sea necesario limpiarlo, desconéctelo,
permita que enfríe y quite el polvo y las pelusas
de las aberturas de aire con un cepillo pequeño
o el cepillo accesorio de una aspiradora. La
superficie exterior del secador sólo se debe
limpiar con un paño limpio.
El secador se recalen tará si las aberturas
de aire están bloquea das u obstruidas.
Si esto ocurriera, un sistema de seguridad
apagará el secador o cortará la temperatura
automáticamente para evitar daños al aparato
o heridas. Si esto sucediera, desenchufe
el aparato y permita que enfríe durante
10–15 minutos antes de encenderlo de nuevo.
Asegúrese de que las ventilaciones de aire
estén limpias.
PRECAUCIÓN

USER MAINTENANCE
Your dryer is virtually maintenance fr ee. No
lubrication is needed. For proper op erating
performance, the dryer must b e kept clean.
When cleaning is needed, unplug the cord,
allow to cool and clean dust and lint from air
intake openings with a small brush or the
brush attachment of a vacuum cleaner. The
outer surface of the dryer sh ould be wiped
clean with a cloth only.
Blocked or clogged air int ake vents will
cause the dryer to ove rheat. If overheating
occurs, an automatic safety device will shut
the dryer or the heat off to prevent damage or
personal injury. If the unit or the heat turns off,
unplug the cord and allow the dryer to cool for
10 to 15 minutes before restarting. Make sure
the air vents are clean.
CAUTION
NEVER allow the power supply cord to be
pulled, twisted, or severely bent. Never wrap
the cord tightly around the dryer. Damage will
occur at the high flex point of entry into the
dryer, causing it to rupture and short. Inspect
the cord frequently for damage. Stop use
immediately if damage is visible or unit
stops or operates intermittently.
If the cord or dryer is damaged or does not
operate properly, return it for repair to an
authorized Conair service representative
only. No repairs should be attempted by the
consumer.
STORAGE – Import ant
When not in use, your dryer should be
disconnected, allowed to cool and stored in a
safe, dry location, out of reach of children. Do
not wrap line cord around dryer. Allow the cord
to hang or lie loose and straight at the point of
entry into the dryer.
