To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, and injury, please follow these basic safety precautions before you use this equipment.
1. Carefully read the instructions in this manual.
2. Follow all warnin gs a nd i n structions marked on th e uni t .
3. When cleaning, unplug the telephone jack from the wall outlet. Use a damp cloth. Do not use liquid or aerosol cl ea ner s .
4. Do not use this equipment near water e.g.: near a kitchen sink, ba thtub, washbowl, laundry rub, swimming pool or in a wet basement.
5. Install in a protected location. Ensure all lines and cords are away from foot traffi c. Do not place object s on the line cord that m ay cause damage or abrasion.
6. Avoid spilling any liquid on the unit. This may cause internal shorting, fire or shock. Otherwise, the phone is not covered under your warranty.
7. Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords as this can r esult in the risk of fire or electrical shock.
8. Never push objects of any kind i nto this telephone as they can touch dangerous voltage points or short out parts that could result in a risk of fire or electrical shock.
9. Take the phone to a qua lif ied technician when it requires repair work or service. To reduce the risk of electrical shock, do n ot disassemble the telephone. Opening or removing c overs can expose you to dangerous voltages or other risks. Incorrect re­assembly can cause electrical shock duri ng subsequent use.
10. Avoid using the teleph one dur ing an electrical storm. There can be a slight risk of elec trical shock from lightning.
11. Do not use the telephone to report a gas leak, if in the vicinity of the leak.
12.Unplug this telephone from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions:
If liquid is spilled into the unit.
If the unit is exposed to rain or water.
If the unit does not oper at e nor m al ly by following the o perating
instructions.
If the unit is dropped or the casing is damaged.
If the unit exhibits a distinct change in performance

INSTALLATION
Connect the telephone cord to the telephone and to the telephone jack. Check that the telephones works by pushing the ON/OFF HOOK button and listen for dial tone and also check that IN USE lamp is lit.
BATTERIES
In order to keep the memory (MEM and REDIAL) when the telephone is unplugged you can install two batteries. Use batteries of type R03 or LR03 (AAA). You can always make calls and answer calls without batteries. The battery compartment is on back side of the telephone. Before installing the batteries, unplug the telephone cord and unscrew the screw that is locking the cover. Observe the polarity (+/-) that is marked in the compartment.
OPERATION OF TELEPHONE
1. REGULAR DIALING
a. Press ON/OFF HOOK butt on, the IN USE LED wi ll light, and get a dial tone, enter the telephone number, the number will be dialed out. b. Press ON/OFF HOOK button again to hang up and the IN USE LED will turn off.

2. REDIAL FUNCTION
This feature allows you to redial the last number you have called by one-touch operation. a. Press ON/OFF HOOK button and g et a dial ing tone. b. Press REDIAL butto n to redial the last number.
3. PAUSE FUNCTION
Allows you to insert a temporary pause during dialing sequence. For example, dialing an international number (eg: 011-886-22-795-1234), some telephone company systems will not register the entire number entry without a pause between the prefix numbers. You may have to dial 011- PAUSE, dial 886 - PAUSE. This allows adequate timing for the phone number to register with the telephone company's system and complete the call.
4. FLASH (R) FUNCTION
Press R button to terminate a call and institute a dialing tone for another call or to get another call from "Call Waiting" (a special telephone service).
NOTE: If you do not have any special telephone service, such as Call Waiting, press R button during a call may disconnect your current conversation.

5. MEMORY FUNCTION
To store a number in memory
1. Press ON/OFF HOOK button.
2. Enter the telephone number you want to store, then press MEM. button.
Dialing a number from memory
1. Press ON/OFF HOOK button, then press MEM. button to dial it out.
6. MUTE FUNCTION
If you wish to speak privately to someone else in the room without your caller overhearing, press and hold MUTE button. You will still be able to hear the caller's but they can not hear you during the mute operation. To resume normal conversation, just release MUTE button .
WALL INSTALLATION
The unit can be mount e d to any wall surface usi n g two self-tapping screws (not supplied). Follow the instructions.
1. Install the two self-tapping screws at a distance of 85mm from each other and located on a vertical centre line. See Figure 1

2. Slowly slide the unit down until it snaps into place. See Figure 2.
