DOUBLE INSULATION Doubleinsulationis a conceptin safety, inelectric
powertoolswhich eliminates the needfor the usual three-wiregroundedpowercord. All exposed metal parts are isolatedfrom internalmetal motor componentswithprotectinginsulation.Double insulatedtools do not need to be grounded.

STORE IDLE TOOLS. When not in use,tools
shouldbe stored in a dry and high or looked-up place- out of the reachofchildren.
DON'T FORCE TOOL. It willdo thejob betterand
saferat the ratefor whichit was designed. USE RIGHT TOOL. Don't force small toolor
attachmentto do the job of a heavy dutytool. Don't usetoolfor purposenot intended- for example - Acircularsaw should never be usedfor cutting
tree limbsor logs.

WEAR PROPER APPAREL. Do notwear loose
clothingor jewelry that can get caught intoors movingparts andcause personalinjury.Rubber glovesand nonskidfootwear are recommended
when workingoutdoors.Wear protectivehair coveringto containlong hairand keep itfrom being
drawn into nearby air vents.
ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GLASSES. Everyday
eyeglasses have only impact-resistantlenses;they are NOT safety glasses.
PROTECT YOUR LUNGS. Wear a face or dust
mask if the operationis dusty.
PROTECT YOUR HEARING. Wear hearing
protectionduringextended periodsof operation.
DON'T ABUSE CORD. Never carry toolby cord or
yank itto disconnectfrom receptacle. Keep cord
from heat, oil, and sharp edges.
SECURE WORK. Use clampsor a viseto hold
work. It'ssafer than usingyour hand and itfrees bothhandsto operate tool.
DON'T OVERREACH. Keep proper footing and
balance at all times. Do not use on a ladder or
unstable support. Secure tools when working at
elevated positions.
MAINTAIN TOOLS WITH CARE. Keep tools sharp and clean for best and safest performance. Follow
instructionsfor lubricatingandchangingaccesso- ries.
DISCONNECT TOOLS. When notin use, before
servicing,orwhen changingattachments, blades, bits,cutters,etc., all toolsshouldbe disconnected
from powersupply.
REMOVE ADJUSTING KEYS AND WRENCHES.
Formhabitofcheckingto see that keys and adjustingwrenches are removedfrom toolbefore turningiton.
AVOID ACCIDENTAL STARTING. Don'tcarry plugged-intoolwithfinger on switch. Be sure
switch is off when pluggingin.
MAKE SURE YOUR EXTENSION CORD IS IN
GOOD CONDITION. When usingan extension
cord, be sure to use one heavy enoughto carrythe currant your productwilldraw. An undersizedcord willcause a drop inlinevoltageresultingin lossof
powerand overheating. A wire gage size (A.W.G.) ofat least 16 is recommended for an extension
cord100 feet or lessin length.A cordexceeding 100 feet is not recommended. If indoubt, usethe
nextheavier gage. The smallerthe gage number, the heavierthe cord.
OUTDOOR USE EXTENSION CORDS. When tool is used outdoors, use only extensioncordssuitable
for use outdoors.Outdoorapprovedcords are
markedwith the suffixW-A, for example - SJTW-A
or SJOWoA.
KEEP BITS CLEAN AND SHARP. Sharp bits minimizestalling and kickback.
KEEP HANDS AWAY FROM DRILLING AREA.
Keep hands away frombits.Do not reachunder-
neath work whilebit is rotating.Do notattempt to
removematerialwhile bit is rotating. NEVER USE IN AN EXPLOSIVE ATMOSPHERE.
Normalsparkingofthe motorcouldignitefumes. INSPECT TOOL CORDS PERIODICALLY and if
damaged, have repairedbyan authorizedservice
facility.Stay constantlyaware of cord location.
INSPECT EXTENSION CORDS PERIODICALLY
and replace ifdamaged.
KEEP HANDLES DRY, CLEAN, AND FREE
FROM OIL AND GREASE. Always use a clean cloth when cleaning. Never use brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-based products, or any strong solvents to clean your tool.
STAY ALERT AND EXERCISE CONTROL. Watch
whatyou are doingand use commonsense. Do not operate tool when youare tired. Do notrush.
CHECK DAMAGED PARTS. Beforefurtheruse of the tool,a guard or other partthat is damaged
shouldbe carefully checkedto determinethatitwill operate properlyand performitsintended function. Check for alignmentof movingparts,bindingof
movingparts, breakage of parts,mountingand any
otherconditionsthat may affectitsoperation,A
guardor other partthat isdamaged shouldbe properlyrepaired or replacedby an authorized
servicecenter. DO NOT USE TOOL IF SWITCH DOES NOT
TURN IT ON AND OFF. Have defectiveswitches replacedby an authorizedservicecenter.
DRILLING iNTO ELECTRICAL WIRING IN WALLS CAN CAUSE DRILL BIT AND CHUCK TO BECOME ELECTRICALLY LIVE. Do nottouch
thechuck or metal housingwhendrillingintoa wall; grasp only the insulatedhandle(s) provided
on the tool.

beforedrilling.

DRUGS, ALCOHOL, MEDICATION. Do not
operate thistoolwhile underthe influenceof drugs,
alcohol,or any medication.
POLARIZED PLUGS. To reduce the riskof electric
shock,thistool hasa polarized plug (one blade is widerthan the other). This plugwill fit ina polar-
ized outletonly one way. Ifthe plug doesnotfit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If itstilldoes not fit, contacta qualifiedelectricianto installthe
properoutlet. Do notchange the plug inany way.
