Congratulations!
Congratulations on your new Blues II. We hope you get a lot of
pleasure from the solution which will give you really good sound from
your mobile phone. This user manual will ensure you get started, so
that you get the most pleasure from your new solution. Your local dealer
offers a range of accessories which will further enhance the functionality
of this product.
Before use, the unit must be fully charged (see page 6 for
instructions). Charge time is approximately 2 hours.
Be aware!
Together with the connected headset/earbuds, the neck loop (Blues II)
can emit audio of a high volume. Exposure to this may cause permanent
hearing damage. Be careful when increasing the volume to avoid such
injuries.
Be careful when using the unit while engaged in activities which demand
your full attention.
Never attempt to dismantle the product yourself. Only approved local
dealers or service centres may open the products. Contact your local
dealer if any parts of the unit need replacing.
Keep out of reach of children:
The plastic packaging of the product and accessories are not children’s
toys. The packaging or the small parts it contains may cause choking if
swallowed.
Ignition of flammable atmospheres
Do not use the Blues II in environments where there is a danger of
igniting combustible gasses.
About Blues II
Blues II is a neck loop for hearing aid/CI users which have
telecoil. They will be able to receive sound from mobile phones with
Bluetooth. The neck loop can also receive music from the mobile phone
if the mobile phone supports it.

establish a connection between the devices.

Calls a pre-programmed number from a paired mobile phone.
The numbers are easily programmed via a computer with internet
access and standard Bluetooth connection.
You will only hear sound from the Blues II if you set the hearing aid/CI to
the T or MT setting and wear the neck loop around the neck, or by using
the earbuds/headset.
Functions of the Blues II
Blues II is an amplifier for mobile phones. It also transfers high quality
music (A2DP) from mobile phones. The Blues II has a Speed-Dial button
for clear and simple access to a pre-programmed number.

Charging the Blues II
Make sure the Blues II is fully charged before you use it.
You can charge the Blues II in the following ways:
By cable from the wall outlet•
Directly from a computer by USB cable•
Through the Audiostreamer (accessory)•
Through the Twin Charger Cradle (accessory)•
With the Car Charger (accessory).•
During charging the Battery indicator light

will flash red.
When the Blues II is fully charged the Battery indicator light
6
will
illuminate solid blue. When the battery is low the Battery indicator light
6
will blink red and you will hear an audio signal from the Blues II.
NOTE: The lifetime of the battery will be significantly reduced if the
device is left uncharged for long periods. We advise you charge the
device at least once a month.
When the operation time on the battery begins to decrease, and you wish
to replace it, please send it to your local dealer. The article number of
the battery is: 956-001
Switching the Blues II on and off
How to switch the Blues II on:

turn blue. At the same time you should hear a
signal via the T-Loop or via the earbuds.
Note:• The first time you switch on your Blues II, it will
automatically turn into pair mode. The Battery indicator light

then flashes alternately red and blue.
Go to chapter Pairing the Blues II with a mobile phone and
skip step 1 to finish the pairing.
How to switch the Blues II off:

Pairing the Blues II with a mobile phone
The Blues II must be programmed to communicate with other Bluetooth
devices, e.g. mobile phones. This is done by connecting these together
wirelessly (pairing).

NOTE: It is important that the Blues II and the Bluetooth devices it is
paired with are within one meter of one another during pairing and that
the units to be paired are fully charged.
How to set the Blues II to pairing mode:1.
Switch on the Blues II•
Press and hold the pairing button •

flashes alternately red and blue and you hear a double
tone. The Blues II is now ready to pair for approximately 3
minutes.
How to configure the mobile phone so it detects the Blues II:2.
Follow the mobile phone’s user manual. Usually this involves •
finding the setup, connection or the Bluetooth menu on the
mobile phone and choosing discover or add a Bluetooth device.
See an example of a typical mobile phone below.
The mobile phone finds Blues II!3.
The mobile phone asks if you wish to connect to it. •
Accept by pressing Yes or OK on the telephone and confirm with
the pin code, which is 0000 (4 zeros).
The mobile phone will confirm if the pairing has been •
successful.
If the pairing was unsuccessful, repeat steps 1 to 3.•
If you wish to pair the Blues II with a Bluetooth product without a
display, the product must be set to pairing mode and use password 0000
so that the pairing can be performed.
The Blues II can only be paired with 1 device at the same time.
How to...

Useful tips:
Using the accompanying shirt/blouse clip can reduce noise caused by the
device rubbing off clothing. The clip can be attached to the rear of the
Blues II, in the slot on the desired side
By using the external microphone (accessory, article no: 901-001) you
can use the Blues II under your clothing, offering even better sound to
your audience. These and other microphones are connected at the
socket

Switch off the Blues II. When you switch the device on again, it will •
automatically go into pairing mode (the battery indicator light

will
flash alternately red and blue). This indicates that the device has
been reset to factory settings.
Trouble shooting and FAQ
The Blues II will not switch on!
Charge the battery•
The Blues II will not charge!
Make sure the charge plug is connected correctly in the Blues II and •
that the power supply is working.
I hear crackling!
For best possible quality the Blues II must be within range of the •
mobile phone.
If you are using the headset, make sure the plug to the headset is •
correctly connected.
I cannot hear anything from the Blues II!
Increase the volume of the Blues II.•
Check that the Blues II is paired to the mobile phone.•
If you are using the headset, make sure the plug to the headset is •
correctly connected.
If you are using the hearing device, make sure the coil is lying cor-•
rectly around the neck and that the hearing device is set to T or MT.
I have connection problems even though the mobile phone
says different!
You may have deleted the pairing from the mobile phone. •
Follow the instructions for pairing on page 6.
Will the Blues II work with other Bluetooth devices?
The Blues II is made to work with most mobile phones. This depends •
on the mobile phone being compatible with Bluetooth version 1.1, 1.2
or 2.0, supporting headsets, handsfree and/or A2DP profile.
I cannot use voice-dialling!
These functions are accessible if the telephone supports them. •

Storage and maintenance
Always store the Blues II in a safe place with the power switched off.•
Do not store the Blues II in extreme temperatures (over 45°C/113°F, •
in direct sunlight, or below -10°C/14°F). This can shorten the
lifetime of the battery and affect use. High temperatures can also
reduce performance.
Do not expose the Blues II to rain or other liquids•
Clean the device with a dry cloth.•
