These safety in struc tions ap ply to all per sons within the range of ac tion of the equip ment.
Please in form all per sons within the range of ac tion of the equip ­ment of the di rect and in di rect haz ards con nected with the equip ment.

Knowl edge of the Eng lish lan guage is pre req ui site. En sure in each case that the op er at ing per son nel are fa mil iar

1.2. Ex pla na tions and in for ma tion
Var i ous terms and des ig na tions are used in these op er at ing in struc tions to en ­sure clar ity. There fore please note that the terms used in the text stand for the cor re spond ing ex pla na tions listed be low.
Equip ment “Equip ment” can mean an in di vid ual unit, a ma chine or an in stal la tion.
Op er ating per son nel The “op er at ing per son nel” are per sons op er at ing the equip ment on their own re ­spon si bil ity or ac cord ing to in struc tions.
Op er a tor The “op er a tor” of the equip ment (pro duc tion man ager, fore man, etc.) is the per ­son re spon si ble for all pro duc tion se quences. The op er a tor in structs the op er at ­ing per son nel of what is to be done.
Op er ating in struc tions The “op er at ing in struc tions” de scribe the in ter ac tion of the equip ment, pro duc tion se quences or meth ods. The op er at ing in struc tions must be com piled by the op er ­a tor of the equip ment.
Equip ment fore man When sev eral op er at ing per son nel work on one ma chine, the “equip ment fore ­man” co or di nates the se quences. The equip ment fore man must be ap pointed by the op er a tor.
Trained per son nel “Trained per son nel” are per sons who, due to their train ing, are au tho rized to carry out the re quired work.

1.3. For your safety
The op er a tor of this ma chine must be at least 16 years old.
Read these op er at ing in struc tions care fully be fore the ini tial start-up. Ob serve all points. Con tact us if any thing is un clear. This avoids in jury and dam age to equip ment!
These in struc tions must be stored in such a way that they are avail able at all times at the place of op er a tion of the ma chine. Dan ger of ac ci dents aris ing through im proper use!
Please note that for rea sons of clar ity not ev ery con ceiv able case of op er a tion or of main te nance can be taken into con sid er ation.
Ob serve all safety and haz ard warn ings on the equip ment. This avoids in jury and dam age!
Al low all work on the ma chine to be car ried out only by per sons whose qual i fi ca ­tions are set out in the rel e vant chap ters of the op er at ing in struc tions. Dan ger of ac ci dents from im proper use!
For all work car ried out on the equip ment only the pre scribed work ing clothes should be worn. This avoids in jury!
Com pare the elec tric sup ply val ues with those of the mains sup ply. Dan ger of ac ci dents from elec tric shock!
When us ing lift ing gear, please ob serve the rel e vant reg u la tions. Dan ger of ac ci dents!
Please note that all in stal la tion, start-up and main te nance work is to be car ried out only by qual i fied, trained staff. Dan ger of ac ci dents from im proper use!

The lo cal reg u la tions and re quire ments per tain ing to the equip ment must be ob ­served.
The “5 safety rules” as pro vided in DIN VDE 0105, Sec tion 1, must be ob served for all work car ried out on the equip ment.
Dis con nect elec tri cal com po nents from the mains sup ply be fore work is car ried out on these com po nents. Dan ger to life and limb from elec tric shock!
Do not mod ify, add other equip ment or change the de sign of the equip ment with ­out the ap proval of the man u fac turer. Dan ger of ac ci dents!
Com pile de tailed op er at ing in struc tions based on the op er at ing in struc tions sup ­plied for the se quence of pro ce dures to be car ried out on this ma chine. Dan ger of ac ci dents from im proper use!
Ap point a ma chine fore man to be re spon si ble for the ma chine.
En sure that the op er at ing staff are thor oughly trained in the op er a tion of the equip ment. Dan ger of ac ci dents from im proper use!
If the ma chine is switched off for safety rea sons, it must be se cured against un ­author ised ac ti va tion. Dan ger of ac ci dents!
Be fore start ing main te nance work, ap point a su per vi sor.
In form the staff re spon si ble be fore start ing main te nance work. Dan ger of ac ci dents!
Dis con nect the equip ment from the mains sup ply be fore start ing main te nance work to en sure that it can not be switched on ac ci den tally. Dan ger of ac ci dents!

Re pair work may be car ried out only by trained staff! Dan ger of ac ci dents!
Never op er ate the equip ment when it is partly dis man tled! Dan ger! Limbs may be caught in ma chin ery! Elec tric shock!
The ma chine may only be op er ated when all the as so ci ated com po nents are prop erly con nected up and in ac cor dance with the rel e vant reg u la tions.
In case of mal func tion, shut down the equip ment im me di ately. Have faults cor ­rected im me di ately. Dan ger of ac ci dents!
The ma chine is in tended only for the dry ing of gran u lated plas tics. Any other or ad di tional use is con trary to spec i fi ca tions.
This ma chine is not suit able for food-drying.
Please note that sound lev els ex ceed ing 85 db(A) may in the long term dam age your health. Use the ap pro pri ate ear muffs. This avoids im pair ment of hear ing!
At tach ments not sup plied by Colortronic must be man u fac tured in ac cor dance with safety reg u la tion EN 294. Dan ger of ac ci dents!
All pipes, hoses and screwed con nec tions should be checked reg u larly for leaks and dam age. Any faults which arise should be cor rected im me di ately. Dan ger of ac ci dents!
The safety in struc tions of the con nected ma chines must be fol lowed.
The re turn air fil ter should only be cleaned/re placed when the the main switch is off and the blower has stopped. This avoids in jury and dam age to equip ment!

Never op er ate the dryer with out side pan els. Dan ger: Limbs may be caught in ma chin ery! In jury through burns!
When dry ing plas tics which emit gases dan ger ous for hu man health, take care that the re gen er a tion ex haust air is dis posed of with out pol lut ing the en vi ron ment.
Open dry ing hop pers only if they are com pletely empty.
Never open dry ing hop pers while the de vice is in op er a tion. Dan ger: Iinjury through burns!
Open dry ing hop pers only if they have been cooled down suf fi ciently. Dan ger: In jury through burns!
Re move any gran ules re main ing on the ground. Dan ger of ac ci dents!
Ar rest the wheels af ter in stal la tion if the dryer is mounted on a mov able frame. This will pre vent dan ger to peo ple and ma te rial!
Take care that the de vice is not stand ing on the mains ca ble. This will pre vent dan ger to peo ple and ma te rial!
Please note that the dry ing cells, dry ing hop pers and air pipings grow hot dur ing use. Avoid touch ing any of these parts! Dan ger: In jury through burns!
Op er ate the dryer only if there is at least one dry ing hop per op er at ing. This will pre vent dam age of ma te rial!

1.4. For the Safety of the De vices
Never change set tings with out care fully as sess ing the con se quences.
Use only orig i nal Colortronic spare parts.
Ob serve the main te nance in struc tions.
Keep a re cord of all main te nance works and re pairs.
Please note that elec tronic com po nents can be dam aged by static dis charge.
Be fore ini tial op er a tion and in reg u lar in ter vals, make sure that no elec tri cal con ­nec tions are loose.
Never re ad just sen sors with out ex actly know ing their func tions.
Please note that the max i mum am bi ent tem per a ture may not ex ceed +35 °C.
Clean the dry ing hop pers be fore the first fill ing.
Note the in struc tions of the ma te rial man u fac turer for the max i mum dry ing tem ­per a ture.
Note the dry ing in struc tions of the ma te rial man u fac turer.
Take care that the dry ing hop pers are al ways com pletely filled and that the re ten ­tion pe riod is re spected if con tin ual re moval is tak ing place.
Note that too large amounts taken from the dry ing hop per lead to in suf fi cient dry ­ing of the ma te rial.
Close the air stop valves of dry ing hop pers which are empty or have not been used.

Note down all data which you have en tered into the con trol sys tem.
When you dis pose of dry ing agents, ob serve all of fi cial rules.
Note that dry ing cells are re placed or re filled by Colortronic only if they are empty.
Note that the dryer may be nei ther tipped nor laid on its side.
Clean or re place the re turn air fil ter only if the main switch is switched off and the blower has stopped.
Op er ate the de vice only if the dry ing hop per is suf fi ciently filled with ma te rial.
Op er ate the de vice only if at least one dry ing hop per is op er at ing.
Read the op er at ing man u als of the con nected de vices.

2. As sem bly in struc tions
These in stal la tion in struc tions are in tended for per sons with skills in elec tri cal and me chan i cal ar eas due to their train ing, ex ­pe ri ence and re ceived in struc tions.
Per son nel us ing these in stal la tion in struc tions must be in structed in the reg u la tions for the pre ven tion of ac ci dents, the op er at ing con di tions and safety reg u la tions and their im ple men ta tion.
En sure in each case that the per son nel are in formed. The in stal la tion in struc tions pro vided in the cor re spond ing op er -
at ing in struc tions ap ply for all con nected equip ment. Ob serve safety reg u la tions with re gard to lift ing gear han dling. All in stal la tion work must be car ried out with the equip ment dis -
con nected from elec tri cal power and com pressed air sup ply.

For in stal la tion work tak ing place at heights of over approx. 6 feet, use only lad ders or sim i lar equip ment and work ing plat ­forms in tended for this pur pose. At greater heights, the proper equip ment for pro tec tion against fall ing must be worn.
Use only suit able and tech ni cally sound lift ing equip ment and load sus pen sion de vices with suf fi cient car ry ing force. Do not stand or work un der sus pended loads!
Use suit able work shop equip ment.

2.1. Trans port
The dryer or the com pact unit is de liv ered on a pal let. The dryer should only be moved by means of the ap pro pri ate lift ing equip ment
(e.g. a fork lift).
At ten tion should be paid to the load ca pac ity of the lift ing equip ­ment.
All safety reg u la tions re gard ing work with lift ing equip ment should be obeyed.

2.2. In stal la tion
Be cause of its com pact con struc tion the dryer can be in stalled di rectly be side the pro cess ing ma chine (dry ing hop per on the pro cess ing ma chine) or sup plied with a dry ing hop per as a mo bile at tach ment (com pact unit).
Spe cial foun da tions are not nec es sary for in stal la tion. The dryer must be in stalled on a level sur face and must not be ex posed to ex ces -
sive hu mid ity. The max i mum per mis si ble am bi ent tem per a ture is 35 °C. To fa cil i tate ser vic ing, the dryer should be in stalled in such a way that that it is ac -
ces si ble from 3 sides.
The main switch must be freely ac ces si ble.

The equip ment must not be tilted or laid on its side.
To con serve en ergy, keep the dis tance be tween dryer, hop per and pro cess ing ma chine as small as pos si ble.
The wheels of the com pact unit should be locked to en sure sta ble in stal la tion. The foil should be re moved from the dry ing hop per.

2.3. In stal la tion of the exhauster fan for re gen er a tion of ex haust air
When plas tics are be ing dried that re lease harm ful gases dur ing the dry ing pro ­cess, care must be taken that the re gen er a tion ex haust air is dis posed of in an en ­vi ron men tally sound way. At the same time the through put of the re gen er a tion blower must not be al tered. It should be noted when as sem bling a dis posal sys ­tem (e.g. an exhauster sys tem) that the re gen er a tion ex haust air is very hu mid. Thus con den sa tion may form, which must not un der any cir cum stances re turn to the dryer.

2.4. Elec tri cal Con nec tion
The elec tri cal con nec tion of the dryer and of the hop per heat ers may only be car ried through or as signed by Colortronic ser vice staff or by qual i fied staff au tho rized by Colortronic.
Other per sons are not per mit ted to carry through the elec tri cal con nec tion.
Ob serve the rules of the lo cal elec tric ity board.

Reg u larly make sure that none of the elec tri cal or screw con ­nec tions are loose.
The op er at ing volt age is 400 V/50 Hz, 3 AC or 400 V/60 Hz, 3 AC. Spe cial volt ages can be sup plied on re quest.
The con nected loads are

If hop per heat ers are in stalled, the value of each hop per heater must be added to these con nected loads (max. 9.0 kW).

Be fore con nect ing the mains plug, make sure that the main switch is at “0" po si tion.
Con nect the mains plug to a mains socket. The fuse pro tec tion must have 16 A.
