Installation
1. Important: This unit must be wired by a qualified electrician or suitable competent person. Isolate the mains supply prior to wiring.
2. Cut an installation hole in ceiling (Ø43mm - Ø44mm) and establish a mains supply to the light fitting.
3. Plug in battery and write commissioning date on battery. To access battery, open battery compartment by unscrewing the 2x screws underneath DC output section (connected to LED module). Replace battery cover and screws when done. (fig 2).
4. Connect mains input cabling to supplied mains flying lead (L= Brown, N= Blue).
5. Write the installation date in space provided on the product label.
6. Push LED driver and battery into ceiling void. Fold the LED module springs upward and insert into the hole. Note: Product comes supplied with corridor (160° x 50°) and open area (165°) lenses. To change the lens, twist the lens anticlockwise and pull away (Fig 4). To install the new lens, push the lens onto the product and twist the lens clockwise. (Fig 5).
7. Turn on mains power. The green LED indicator should be lit indicating that the unit is connected correctly and the battery is charging. Battery will be charged after 24 hours.

Testing
Periodic testing of the unit must be performed in line with the appropriate regulations.
Emergency pack commissioning (Manual Test Models: EMRWMAN and EMRBMAN)
1. Provide an uninterrupted mains power supply (permanent live) for 24 hours.
2. Check that the green indicator LED light is continuously lit. This confirms that the battery is charging.
3. Remove the mains supply, the unit will operate under battery power for 3 hours minimum.
4. Restore mains power to the unit, check light functions correctly.
5. Pressing the ‘TEST’ button will illuminate the LED for 2secs to check LED is functioning.
Emergency pack commissioning (Self Test Models: EMRWST and EMRBST)
1. Provide an uninterrupted mains power supply (permanent live) for 24 hours.
2. Check that the status indicator LED light is continuously lit green. This confirms that the battery is charging.
3. After 24 hours of charging, a duration test is carried out for 3 hours. Note: After the first duration test, the unit will proceed to perform one duration test between the 300th and 365th day and also check the connection to the battery and LED module.
The status LED change between green and red colours to indicate the current status of the unit as follows:

Pressing the ‘TEST’ button will perform different functions depending on press duration as follows:
Slow ash (1 sec on 1 sec o) Duration test in progress

Flash 3 times 0.5 sec on 0.5 sec o) Clock reset
Continuously on Baery failure
Slow ash (1 sec on 1 sec o) LED module failure
Fast ash (0.2 sec on 0.2 sec o) Duration failure, the capacity of the baery is insucient
