SPECIFIC OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS WHEN USING THIS SAW.
1. Be sure to hold this tool by the insulated gripping surfaces when using it for any operation where it is possible that the cutting tool may contact any hidden wiring or the cord of the tool. Contact with a “live” wire will make exposed metal parts of the tool “live” and may cause harm to the operator.
2. Use extra caution when cutting in hard to reach or high places. Be wary of any possible wires or falling debris that may result from your use of this tool.
3. BE CERTAIN TO KEEP HANDS AND FEET AWAY FROM CUTTING AREA. Keep hands away from cutting area. Keep hands away from the blades. Do not reach underneath work while blade is rotating. When the saw is in use, be sure to keep hands firmly gripped on the tool. Never reach towards or below the cutting operation. Never use your legs or feet to stabilize the cutting operation.
CAUTION: blades continue to coast after trigger is released. Never place your hand on the work surface in front of or behind the saw.
4. The operation of this saw may result in foreign objects being thrown into your eye, which may result in severe damage. Before beginning any power tool operation, always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shield and a full- face shield when needed. Consider using a Wide Vision Safety Mask for use over eyeglasses or standard safety glasses with side shields. Always use eye protection that is marked to comply with ANSI287.1.
5. To ensure proper usage, always use a sharp blade. This will produce the best results and minimize poor performance results.

6. WARNING: Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling
and other construction activities contains chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Some examples of these chemicals:
a. Lead from lead-based paints,
b. Cement and other masonry products,
c. Chemically-treated lumber
Your risk from these types of exposures varies depending on how often you do this type of work and what type of work you are doing. To reduce your risks,
• Work in a well-ventilated area.
• Work with specially designed equipment and masks.
7. Keep guards in place and in working order. Never wedge or tie lower guard
open. Check operation of lower guard before each use. Do not use if lower guard does not close briskly and completely cover the saw blade.
CAUTION: If saw is dropped, lower guard may be bent, restricting full return.
8. Keep blades clean and sharp. Sharp blades minimize stalling, overload, kick-
back and give a cleaner cut.
9. Support large panels. Large panels must be supported to minimize the risk
of overload and kickback from blade pinching. Resting the saw on the work piece should be done on the larger portion of the work and the smaller piece should be cut off.
10. Guard against kickback. Kickback occurs when the saw begins to stall
rapidly and is driven back towards the operator. Kickback is a reaction to a poorly aligned blade or a restricted blade. If kickback occurs, release the switch immediately if blade binds or saw stalls. Keep blades sharp. Do not force tool. Stay alert. Exercise control. Do not remove saw from work during a cut while the blade is moving.
11. Raise lower guard. When necessary for accurate starts or when picket cut-
ting, simply raise the lower guard with the retracting lever.
12. Adjustments. Before cutting be sure depth and bevel adjustments are tight.
13. Use only correct blades. Use only blades with 10mm diameter. Do not
use blades with incorrect size holes. Never use defective or incorrect blade washers or bolts.
14. Avoid cutting nails. Inspect for and remove all nails from lumber before
cutting.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR BATTERY CHARGER:
1. This manual includes important safety instructions for the battery charger.
Fully read all instructions and warning labels before using the battery or battery charger.
3
2. To reduce the risk of electric shock or injury, use ONLY the battery charger supplied with this unit to charge the battery(ies).
3. Do NOT expose the battery or battery charger to rain or moisture.
4. Use of any attachment not recommended in this manual may result in the risk of fire, electric shock or injury to a person and will void the warranty.
5. To reduce the risk of damaging the battery charger power cord, be sure to pull the plug rather then the cord when disconnecting it from the power supply. Always position the cord so it will not be stepped on or tripped over. This will prevent damage to the cord.
6. An extension cord should not be used unless absolutely necessary. Use of an improper extension cord can result in risk of fire or electric shock. If using an extension cord make sure that:
A) The pins on the plug of the extension cord are the same number,
size and shape as those on the plug on the charger.
B) The extension cord is properly wired and in good working condition.
C) The wire size is the same or larger than the ones specified below:
Recommended size of Extension Cord for Battery Charger
Length of Cord (Feet) 25 50 100 150
AWG Size of Cord* 18 18 16 14
*The smaller the AWG (American Wire Gauge) number of the extension cord, the higher the capacity of the cable for conducting current to ensure proper usage of the tool.
7. Do not operate charger with a damaged cord or plug.
8. Do not operate the charger if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped or damaged in any other way.
9. Do not open the saw, battery or battery charger. There are no user serviceable parts. Opening the unit will void the warranty.
10. Unplug the charger from its power source when not in use.
11. Do not touch the terminals inside the battery charger with any other metal
object such as nails or coins. This can short the charger.
12. Do not store the unit in areas where the temperature can exceed 120°F.

14. WARINING: Batteries vent hydrogen gas and may explode in the presence
of a source of ignition, such as a pilot light. To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, never use any cordless product in the presence of an open flame. An exploded battery can propel debris and chemicals. If exposed, flush with water immediately for a minimum of 10 minutes and seek medical attention.
15. During extreme conditions, the battery may leak. This does not indicate a battery failure. However, if the liquid gets on your skin, immediately wash with soap and water, neutralize the area with a mild acid such as lemon juice or vinegar. If the liquid gets into your eyes, flush them with clean water immediately for a minimum of 10 minutes and seek medical attention.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
Charging The Battery
THE BATTERY(IES) MAY NOT BE FULLY CHARGED FROM THE FACTORY. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY PRIOR TO FIRST USE.
The Saws covered by this manual use the same battery and battery charger.
Your Saw comes complete with a rechargeable battery, we recommend that you fully charge before the first use.
Your Saw must be charged for 1 hour prior to first use. After initial charge, allow approximately 1hour to recharge your battery.
Your battery should be recharged when the saw does not operate up to its normal performance level. Do not continue to operate the saw in this depleted capacity. Recharge the battery immediately.
To increase the life of your battery, do not leave the battery charging for more than 1 hour. While this is not a safety concern, overcharging may reduce the life of the battery(ies).
Overtime, if the saw is not used, the battery will lose capacity. For maximum performance, recharge the battery after prolonged storage or non-use periods.
NOTE: Before inserting or removing the battery from the charging base, always ensure that the base is not plugged into a 120V power source.
1. To begin charging, remove the battery pack from the tool by pressing on the battery release buttons on either side of the battery pack and pulling down.
2. Plug the battery pack into the battery charger making sure the positive (+) and negative (-) poles of the battery match the positive (+) and negative (-) poles of the battery charger.
NOTE: The battery will only fit into the battery charger and the tool one way.
3. Plug the battery charger into any standard 120 Volt wall outlet. The RED LED indicator on the battery charger will illuminate to indicate that the battery is charging.
4. Full charging will take 1 hour.
NOTE: While the battery is placed in the charger, the RED LED indicator light will remain on. After one hour and a complete charge, the GREEN LED indicator light will illuminate to let you know it is now safe to use the battery.
If charging more than one battery, wait at least 15 minutes between each charge.
Use only the battery charger that is supplied with this tool. Using another charger may cause damage to the battery.
WARNING: Never charge a battery pack again immediately after it has been fully charged. This can give rise to the battery pack being overcharged and a reduced battery life.

Length of service of your battery will depend on the type of work you are doing.
The batteries in this tool have been designed to provide maximum, trouble-free life. However, like all batteries, it will eventually wear out. Do not disassemble battery pack and attempt to replace the batteries.
To make your batteries last as long as possible, we suggest the following:
1. Store and charge your batteries in a cool area. Temperatures above or below normal room temperatures will shorten battery life.
2. Never store batteries in a discharged condition. Recharge them immediately after they are discharged.
3. All batteries gradually lose their charge. The higher the temperature the quicker they lose their charge. If you store your tool for long periods of time without using it, recharge the batteries every month or two. Getting into this habit will prolong battery life.
THE ASSEMBLY OF THIS SAW:
WARNING: Always remove the battery pack from your saw when you are as-
sembling parts, making adjustments, assembling or removing blades, cleaning or when not in use. Removing the battery pack will prevent accidental starting that could cause serious personal injury.
To remove/attach Battery Pack:
To Remove:
1. Locate latches on side of the battery pack and depress both sides to release battery pack from your saw.
2. Remove the battery pack from your saw.
To Attach:
1. Place the battery pack in your saw aligning the raised ribs on the battery pack with the groove in the saw’s battery port.
2. Make sure that the latches on each side of the battery pack snap into place and the battery pack is secured to the saw before beginning operation.
7
To install the saw blade:
1. REMOVE battery pack first.
WARNING: Failure to remove battery pack from the saw could result in accidental starting causing possible serious personal injury.
2. To attach blade, retract lower blade guard and place blade over spindle and against the inner clamp washer. Place outer clamp washer against the blade. (Blade must go on with the printed side out, teeth at the bottom of the blade pointing forward.
3. Thread on blade clamping screw firmly by hand to hold the washer in position. (Screw has left hand threads and must be turned counterclockwise to tighten).
4. Lightly depress the blade lock while turning the spindle until the blade stops rotating.
5. Tighten blade clamping screw (counter-clockwise) firmly with the blade wrench.
6. To remove blade, TURN OFF TOOL AND REMOVE BATTERY PACK. Engage the blade lock-off button and unscrew the blade clamping screw by turning it clockwise with the blade wrench.
NOTE: Never engage blade lock while saw is running, or engage in an effort to stop the tool. Never turn switch on when blade lock is engaged. Serious damage to your saw may result.
7. Replace the battery pack.
Blades
A dull blade will cause slow, inefficient cutting overload on the saw motor, excessive splintering, and could increase the possibility of kickback.
CAUTION: Do not use abrasive discs or blades for cutting ferrous (steel) materials.

Cutting Depth Adjustment:
1. REMOVE battery pack first.
WARNING: Failure to remove battery pack from the saw could result in accidental starting causing possible serious personal injury.
2. Hold the saw firmly and loosen (counter clockwise) the depth adjustment knob and move shoe to obtain the desired depth of cut.
3. Make sure the depth adjustment knob has been retightened (clockwise) before operating the saw.
For the most efficient cutting action, set the depth adjustment so that one tooth of the blade will project below the material to be cut. This distance is from the tip of the tooth to the bottom of the gullet in front of it. This keeps blade friction at a minimum, removes sawdust from the cut, results in cooler, faster sawing and reduces the chance of kickback. To check for the correct cutting depth, lay a piece of material you plan to cut along the side of the blade and observe how much blade projects below the material.
NOTE: When using carbide-tipped blades, make an exception to the above and allow only one-half of a tooth to project below the material to be cut.
Bevel Angle Adjustment:
The full range of the bevel adjustment is from 0° to 50°. The quadrant is graduated in increments of 5°. On the front of the saw is a bevel angle adjustment mechanism, consisting of a calibrated quadrant and a knob. To set the saw for a bevel cut:
1. REMOVE battery pack first.
WARNING: Failure to remove battery pack from the saw could result in accidental starting causing possible serious personal injury.
2. Loosen (counter clockwise) the quadrant knob until the base to the desired angle mark. Re-tighten knob firmly (clockwise).
NOTE: The quadrant pointer, located between the quadrant knob and the quadrant, can be adjusted after loosening its screw. Re-tighten firmly after adjustment.
Base Adjustment for 90° Cuts:
If additional adjustment is needed:
1. REMOVE battery pack first.
WARNING: Failure to remove battery pack from the saw could result in accidental starting causing possible serious personal injury.
2. Adjust the saw to 0° bevel.
3. Retract blade guard. Place the saw on the blade side.
9
4. Loosen bevel adjustment knob. Place a square edge against the blade and base to adjust the 90° setting.
5. Loosen the hex nut with a wrench or needle nose pliers and move the adjustment screw so that the shoe will stop at the proper angle. Lock the screw in place by tightening the hex nut.
6. It may be necessary to adjust the quadrant angle pointer to line up on “0” after shoe has been adjusted.
7. Confirm the accuracy of the setting by checking the squareness of an actual cut on a scrap piece of material.
SWITCH
Release the lock-off by pressing the button as shown. Pull the trigger switch to turn the motor ON. Releasing the trigger turns the motor OFF. Releasing the trigger also automatically actuates the lock-off button.
NOTE: This tool has no provision to lock the switch in the ON position and should never be locked ON by any other means.
RIP FENCE
The scaled rip fence allows the saw to cut exactly along a work piece edge and for accurate parallel cuts.
MAINTENANCE OF THE SAW:
CLEANING
WARNING: Always remove the battery pack from your saw when you are
assembling parts, making adjustments, assembling or removing blades, cleaning or when not in use. Removing the battery pack will prevent accidental starting that could cause serious personal injury.
WARNING: Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-based products, penetrating oils, etc., come in to contact with plastic parts. They contain chemicals that may damage, weaken or destroy the plastic.
Use only clean damp cloths or mild soap to remove dirt, carbon dust, etc. Chemical solvents can damage the plastic.
