FOR EASE OF ASSEMBLY, leave the grill on the inside bottom foam packing tray until the wheels have been attached. (See representative
example at right). Remove the outside foam from the right and left sides of the frame base at this time.
Ö
Remove all cartons located on top of the barbecue grill base and set aside.

SEASONING PROCESS BEFORE
ASSEMBLING YOUR GRILL!

Cast Iron griddles are on select models only.
Ö
Your cast iron griddles may have some rusting. This is normal. To remove the rust, scour the rusty areas with steelwool, i.e. SOS pad, until all traces of rust are gone. Wash, dry and season the griddle.

SEASONING IS THE PROCESS OF ALLOWING OIL TO BE
ABSORBED INTO THE IRON
, CREATING A NON-STICK,
RUSTPROOF FINISH. HERES HOW TO DO IT:
Ö
Preheat Oven to 350ºF.
Ö
Wash with hot, soapy water and a stiff brush. Rinse and dry completely.
Ö
Oil the griddle (all surfaces top and bottom) with MELTED solid vegetable shortening.
Ö
Turn upside down on the top rack of a 350ºF pre-heated oven.
Ö
Put aluminum foil on the bottom rack to catch any excess drippings.
Ö
Bake the griddle for one hour at 350ºF.
Ö
Let the griddle cool slowly in the oven.
Ö
Store, uncovered, in a dry place when cooled.

Assemble the DOOR HANDLES (21) to the DOORS (20). See detail 1-A.
Ö
NOTE: Attach MAGNET CATCH (81) to STAINLESS STEEL DOORS only.
Ö
Attach the DOOR MAGNETS (19a) to the Door Stop Bracket. See detail 1-B.

1-A IF you have PAINTED DOORS, attach a DOOR HANDLE (21) to each DOOR (20) with
two screws (BT) in each DOOR.
Ö
IF you have STAINLESS STEEL DOORS, attach a DOOR HANDLE (21) and a MAGNET CATCH (81) to each DOOR (20) with two screws (BT) in each DOOR.
1-B Snap two DOOR MAGNETS (19a) into the
Door Stop Bracket.

NOTE: Magnet Catch (81) is supplied ONLY for units with Stainless Steel Doors. Assemble toward inner edge to align with the DOOR MAGNETS (19a).

2-B Insert the HINGE PIN (20a) into the Door.
Ö
Begin with inserting the Hinge Pin into the top holes of the Door and Control Panel.
Ö
Align the Hinge Pin to the bottom holes in the Door and base. Lower the Hinge pin until Hinge stop rests on the hole in the Door bottom.
Ö
Repeat Assembles 2-A through 2-B for the Left Door installation.

Attach the DOOR STOP (19b) on the grill base. See detail 2-A.

Place the right DOOR (20) on the grill frame. See detail 2-A.
Ö
Install the HINGE PIN (20a) in the Door. See detail 2-B.
Ö
Repeat 2-A and 2-B for the left DOOR assembly.
2-A Attach the DOOR STOP(19b) to the base with
two screws (JS). Align holes in the DOOR (20) with holes in the Control Panel and base. Hold in place until Hinge pin is put in place.

ELPFUL HINTS FOR DOOR ASSEMBLY
3-A. Check the alignment of the doors with the control
panel.
Ö
In the unlikely event, the door alignment needs to
be adjusted, follow the steps listed below.
Ö
If no adjustment is necessary, continue on with
detail 4-A.
3-B. Loosen, the twelve front leg screws no more than 1/4 to 1/2 turn.
Note: DO NOT
REMOVE the screws.
Ö
At the top of the grill frame, gently push left or right for proper
alignment of the doors.
Ö
Once the alignment is complete, re-tighten all screws from top to bottom.
Ö
Remove outside foam from the LEFT SIDE and RIGHT SIDE of the BASE.
Ö
Check the alignment of the doors with the control panel. See details 3-A and 3-B.

4-A. Insert the AXLE PINS (3) into the wheels.
Ö
Insert the wheels and axle pins into each side of the base and secure with two
clevis pins (WN). See diagram.
Ö
Remove the remaining foam tray from under the barbecue grill now.
Ö
The front doors are not shown for clarity of assembly.
Ö
Assemble WHEELS (16). See detail 4-A.

Assemble BASKET (22) on the right end of base and legs. See detail 4-B.

BEGIN WITH CARTON A - MISCELLANEOUS PARTS
4-B. Feed the BASKET (22) through the right legs with the basket
extensions on the outside of the legs. The extensions will rest against the outside of the legs.

Place the Basket feet over the caster bolt and secure with two wing nuts (DZ).

Assemble the one GREASE PAN (48) and one GREASE CUP (49) under the
bottom casting. See details 5-A and 5-B.
5-A. Secure two shoulder screws (DN) into the GREASE PAN (48) with
two hex nuts (GC), taking care not to damage the porcelain by overtightening. Astandard soup can may be used inside the GREASE CUP (49) as a disposable liner. Attach the Grease Cup to the shoulder screws on the bottom of the grease pan.
5-B. Slide Grease pan assembly into position past tab stops, from the back, on
flanges under bottom casting. NOTE: When cleaning, hold the stops out to remove the Drip pan.
