Addendum
GPS position display
This information is added to Chapter 6, Setup procedures—
part 2, GPS display on/off.
To read the GPS position of your transceiver you must:
• have GPS enabled
• have a GPS receiver connected via the GP connector on
the rear panel
• enable the GPS display (see page 6-21 of the HF SSB
transceiver reference manual, GPS display
on/off).
When in Channel or Clarifier mode, the longitude and latitude
coordinates of your transceiver will be displayed at the top of
the display.
If the GPS receiver does not immediately provide a
Ä
valid position to the transceiver when the transceiver
is switched on, zeroes will replace the longitude and
latitude coordinates on the display. If the transceiver
does not receive a valid position from the GPS
receiver before the GPS timeout elapses, the message
No GPS information is displayed on the top of the
display for twenty seconds. After the message is
displayed, the GPS coordinates are set to zero.

Using the optional RS-232/I2C Interface
This information is to be added to the Appendix—Using the
optional RS-232/I 2C Interface.
The RS-232/I 2C Interface is an adaptor that plugs into the
Remote Control connector of the transceiver. It provides
two additional sockets for connecting a GPS receiver and a
computer.
Only one socket on the adaptor can be used at the
one time.
