Remarks
Reminders
This product is a combination of an infrared remote control and a radio-frequency transmitter.
Remote control
: Controls numerous multimedia devices (TV, Stereo, DVD, MediaCenter PC etc.) in the
same manner as the original remote control.
13
UCR-4285 UNIVERSAL REMOTE CONTROL
Transmitter: Controls your COCO receivers. Program your receivers under the same button to control them simultaneously, or program them under various buttons to control them individually.
For the ‘transmitter’ function this product must be used in combination with at least one COCO receiver.
The wireless system can be indefinitely expanded with other COCO remote controls and/or receivers.
The standard setting for the ‘lighting mode’ is COCO house code ‘A’. If the receivers are already set to
a different house code, you can change the house code of the UCR-4285 or change your receivers to
house code A. Follow steps [5-7] to change the house code of the UCR-4285. Use the device button with the light bulb icon and the desired code from table I below.
In table II below, you can see which buttons on the UCR-4285 match the number codes of your COCO
receivers. The UCR-4285 can use a maximum of 14 different number codes.

If your AV device does not have a power button, press the ‘Play’ button in step [13].
Some TVs cannot be switched on with the ‘Power’ button. In that case, use a channel number button or
consult your TV manual for the correct manner to switch it on.
If the product does not work or does not work properly:
- Check the correct placement and/or function of the batteries of the transmitter (replace if necessary).
- Check step by step whether everything is programmed properly.
- Some codes are very similar. Try another code in step [7] if some functions on the remote control
work and some do not.
- First press the correct device selection button before you operate the desired device.
- To control lighting: Make sure the house code set on the UCR-4285 is the same as the house code
on the COCO receiver you want to control (see [15] and table I). The number code of the receiver must match the correct button on the UCR-4285 (see table II).
Dimmer function for lighting
The dimmer function only works if the lamp is connected to a COCO dimmer receiver!
If you want to control some of the receivers simultaneously (=program receivers to respond to the same
button on the remote control):
- Do not assign ‘dimmer receivers’ and ‘on/off receivers’ to the same button.
- Do not assign multiple ‘dimmer receivers’ to the same button.

UCR-4285 UNIVERSAL REMOTE CONTROL
Power
Replace the batteries if the remote control does not function reliably.
Only use 1.5 Volt AA (LR03) alkaline batteries.
All the settings will remain intact after changing the batteries.
Do not throw the batteries into an open fire.
Respect the local regulations when disposing of batteries.
Wireless
This product works with infrared signals (control of multimedia devices) and with radio signals (control
of COCO receivers). The latter signals go through walls, windows and doors. The range is maximum 75 metres in the open air. The range indoors is strongly influenced by local conditions such as concrete, glass and metals. On average, the indoor range is approximately 30 metres.
New double glass often includes a thin metallic layer. This type of glazing (“HR glass”) allows most
visible light to pass through but has a negative impact on radio signals. If there is HR glass between the transmitter and receiver, you should expect a significant reduction of the range of the wireless signal.
This product operates at a frequency of 433.92 MHz. It complies with the essential requirements and
other conditions of R&TTE Directive 1999/5/EC and can be used in all EU countries.
There may be restrictions on the use of this device outside the EU. If this device is used outside the EU,
check whether the device complies with the local directives.
This product complies with the essential requirements and other relevant provisions of the applicable European directives. The Declaration of Conformity (DoC) is available at www.coco-technology.com.
