[1] Start situation: Your transmitter and receiver
have been configured correctly but are not in range of each other.
[2] Use a screwdriver to pry the base plate off of
the back.
Temporarily place the transmitter and receiver next to each other and make sure you can actually control the receiver with the transmitter!
Do not place the screwdriver in the middle but rather under the left or right side. The recess in the centre is for the battery compartment (see [3])!

different than those shown here!
[3] Remove the 8 screws and open the battery
compartment.
[4] Install 2 AA alkaline batteries. Make sure to
install them with the correct polarity.

[5] Press the “Learn” button briefly to activate the
search mode.
[6] Briefly press the ‘on’ button on the remote
control (or send an ‘on’ signal from another type of transmitter).
The indicator on the front will fla sh two times more slowly to confirm!
The indicator on the front will begin to flash!
[7] Screw the battery cover back in place, and
reattach the base plate.
[8A] Fold out the foot to place the product on a
horizontal surface.
The AEX-701 must be located within the wireless range of your remote control / transmitter!
Your transmitter must be located within the wireless range of the AEX-701!

[8B] Use the slots on the rear to mount the product
on the wall.
[9] With the assistance of the AEX-701 your
receiver can now be controlled with the remote control/transmitter even if they are not within each others’ direct range.

Remarks
Reminders
• This product is a so-called ‘repeater’ and is intended to repeat the wireless signal from your COCO transmitter (e.g. remote control). This allows you to control a receiver that would otherwise be outside the wireless range of the transmitter.
• This product must be used in combination with at least one COCO transmitter and one COCO receiver that have already been configured correctly.
• This product can only be used with on/off receivers! Do not use dimmer receivers!
• The wireless system can be indefinitely expanded with other COCO transmitters and/or receivers.
• Use only one AEX-701 in the same area.
• This product contains memory and can operate with a maximum of 6 different transmitter codes.
• Removal of one transmitter code from the memory of the AEX-701: (1) Briefly press the ‘Learn’ button.
(2) Send an ‘off’ signal with the transmitter that you want to remove from the memory (in the case of a doorbell, press the doorbell button). (3) The indicator of the AEX-701 flashes twice to confirm.
• Removal of all the transmitter codes from the memory of the AEX-701: (1) Press ‘Learn’ for 6 seconds. (2) The indicator begins flashing quickly. (3) Briefly press the ‘Learn’ button again.
• This product is waterproof (IP56). To keep the product waterproof, make sure not to damage the rubber seal on the inside (under the battery cover).
• If the product does not work or does not work properly:
- Check the correct placement and/or operation of the batteries.
- Check step by step whether the concerned transmitter(s) and receiver(s) are configured properly.
- Make sure the AEX-701 is within the wireless range of the transmitter (max. approx. 30 metres).
- Make sure the receiver is within the wireless range of the AEX-701 (max. approx. 30 metres).
Safety instructions
• Never use COCO products for life support systems or other applications in which equipment malfunctions can have life-threatening consequences.
• Do not attempt to repair this product. If the product is damaged or if you are in doubt about the proper operation, take the product back to the place of purchase.

• Do not expose this product to excessive heat or direct sunlight.
• Remove the batteries from the product if the product will not be used for an extended period.
Power
• If the indicator flashes continuously (every 3 seconds), the batteries are almost discharged. In that case, replace the batteries within a week (do not allow the batteries to discharge completely).
• Depending on use, the batteries last about 1 year.
• Only use 1.5 Volt alkaline batteries.
• Do not throw the batteries into an open fire.
• Respect the local regulations when disposing of batteries.
Wireless
• This product works using a radio signal that passes through walls, windows and doors. The range is maximum 75 metres in the open air. The range indoors is strongly influenced by local conditions such as concrete, glass and metals. On average, the indoor range is approximately 30 metres.
• New double glass often includes a thin metallic layer. This type of glazing (“HR glass”) allows most
visible light to pass through but has a negative impact on radio signals. If there is HR glass between the transmitter and receiver, you should expect a significant reduction of the range of the wireless signal.
• This product operates at a frequency of 433.92 MHz. It complies with the essential requirements and other conditions of R&TTE Directive 1999/5/EC and can be used in all EU countries.
• There may be restrictions on the use of this device outside the EU. If this device is used outside the EU, check whether the device complies with the local directives.
This product complies with the essential requirements and other relevant provisions of the applicable European directives. The Declaration of Conformity (DoC) is available at www.coco-technology.com.
If possible, submit this product for recycling after use. Do not dispose of the product with household trash.
