Machine Preparation
1. Disconnect the tire changer from its air supply
and bleed off all air pressure. Also, disconnect
machine from power source.
2. Remove side panel from chassis for access of
internal parts.
3. Loosen coupling nut completely on 90-degree fitting at bottom of original air tank.
4. Loosen two 6mm screws securing air tank to
back panel of machine.
5. Remove air tank by lifting it off of the two 6mm
screws previously loosened.
6. Remove the 90-degree coupling from the 1-inch
pipe attached to the air valve located inside the
machine being careful not to damage the plastic air
lines attached to it.
Installation of the Replacement Tank
1. Remove the tank assembly from its shipping box
carefully so that the air gauge and manifold assembly
are not damaged.
2. Loosen the coupling nut completely and remove
the coupling half from the tank assembly. Apply
thread sealer to the outside of the 1-inch male pipe
threads, thread on the coupling half and tighten
securely.
3. Hang the new tank assembly on the two 6mm
screws previously loosened for removal of the old
tank. Note: Key hole slots are provided on the tank
bracket for this purpose.
4. Reattach the air valve assembly to the tank
assembly using the 1-inch coupling being careful to
position the air valve inside the machine to its original
position. Note: Do not damage the attached airlines in
this process.
5. Tighten the two 6mm screws securing the tank
in its final position.
6. Reattach the air supply to the machine, check for
air leaks and replace the side panel.
