Mounting
You can choose to place your Cleankeys on a counter top or you can mount the Cleankeys to a wall or bracket. There are three #6-32 mounting inserts on the bottom of Cleankeys. These inserts are compatible with the RAM-Mount 101 system. Using these mounting inserts, you can mount the Cleankeys at any angle, including vertical.
Typing on your Cleankeys keyboard
Although the keys on the Cleankeys do not move, you use the same typing technique on the Cleankeys that you use on a standard keyboard. The Cleankeys accomplishes this by combining touch sensing and tap sensing technology. With touch and tap sensing, unlike just touch sensing, you must tap the keys with your ngers to type a characters. This not only provides a more familiar feel, it also allows you to rest you ngers on the keyboard.
Touch sensing
The Cleankeys uses touch capacitance technology to sense the touch of a human nger. This means that you must use your ngers to touch the keys. Touching or tapping the keyboard with a pencil, for example, will not activate a key. However, you can use the Cleankeys with surgical gloves, or any gloves. Just change the touch sensitivity accordingly.
Tap sensing
When tap sensing is turned on, you must tap the key you want to type, not just touch the key. When tap sensing is turned off, the Cleankeys keyboard uses only touch sensing to sense a keystroke. If tap sensing is off, do not rest your ngers on the keyboard. If you do the Cleankeys will type each key that you touch. Tap sensing is disabled at the factory.

Pausing your Cleankeys keyboard
10
When the keyboard is paused, it does not send characters when the keys are touched or tapped. This allows you to clean or disinfect the keyboard surface without inadvertently pressing keys. To pause the keyboard, touch fn and then esc. The pause LED ashes when the keyboard is paused. To unpause the keyboard, touch fn and then esc. The LED turns off.
Cleaning your Cleankeys keyboard
The Cleankeys keyboard is made from ABS plastic and acrylic or Corian® and glass. You can clean it with anything suitable for those surfaces. For the acrylic or glass, use a standard glass cleaner (such as Windex®). For the ABS plastic or Corian®, use any standard counter-top cleaners (such as Vim®). Do not use abrasive cleaners. The Cleankeys is splash-proof, but should not be immersed in water. Be sure to pause the keyboard before cleaning the Cleankeys keyboard and unpause the keyboard when you are done.
Disinfecting your Cleankeys keyboard
You can disinfect Cleankeys keyboard with any standard disinfectant solution, including CaviCide®, Opti-Cide3®, and SciCan Optim®. Be sure to pause the keyboard before disinfecting the Cleankeys keyboard and unpause the keyboard when you are nished.
