CA-28 EUROMASKI INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Introduction CA-28 Euromaski welder‘s hood is designed for use with CleanAIR® Powered Air Purifying Respirators

(PAPR) or with Continuous Flow Compressed Air Line Breathing Apparatuses (CleanAIR® compressed air systems) to protect respiratory tract, face and eyes against harmful ultraviolet/infrared radiation and welding spray. For all approved product combinations see table C.

CleanAIR® is a personal respiratory protection system based on the principle of the ﬁ ltered air overpressure

in the breathing zone. The PAPR, located at the user‘s belt, ﬁ lters the air sucked in from the surrounding environment; this air subsequently ﬂ ows through an air hose into the protective hood. The resulting overpressure prevents the intrusion of harmful substances into the breathing zone and, at the same time, provides high user comfort during long-term wearing due to the lack of any need for respiratory ﬁ lter resistance overcoming while breathing. It provides protection against solid particles in the form of liquid and solid aerosols, gases and vapours depending on the selected ﬁ lter type.

Approval, certiﬁ cation The CA-28 Euromaski welder‘s hood has been approved in accordance with the requirements of the Euro-

pean standard EN 12941 Class TH2. All parts of the used system must be approved by the manufacturer and used in accordance with the instructions provided in this user manual.

WARNINGS AND LIMITATIONS ON USE

• User must be properly informed about any hazards at the workplace and about safe usage of personal protection devices before using the system. If you need any further information, please contact the manufacturer or your distributor.

• The CA-28 Euromaski welder‘s hood must be used exclusively with the CleanAIR® PAPR or with the CleanAIR® compressed air systems. Please read this manual and also the user manual for the CleanAIR® PAPR or the CleanAIR® compressed air system

• Do not use in conﬁ ned areas, in an environment with insufﬁ cient oxygen supply (<17%), in an oxygen enriched environment (>23%) or in places with imminent hazard to human life or health.

• Do not use in environments where the user lacks knowledge about the kind of contamination and its concentration.

• Do not use when the powered air purifying respirator is turned off or when the compressed air inlet is closed! When the respirator is off or the compressed air inlet is closed the face shield ﬁ ltration systems provide little or none protection to the respiratory tract. It could also result in increased carbon dioxide concentration or lower oxygen content inside the hood. If the PAPR or the CleanAIR® compressed air system ceases to operate during use due to any reason whatsoever, the user must immediately leave the contaminated workplace.

• Negative air pressure may be generated inside the hood when inhaling during very exhausting work resulting in lowering of the protective effect.

• The head section must always be correctly sealed to the face to provide maximum protection to the user. Should beard or long hair get trapped in the sealing line, the resulting leakage could result in lower protection level.

• Do not use when any part of the system is damaged. The head section and the air hose must be checked before each use. Eventual cracks or leakages could negatively impact the required level of user protection.

• Scratched or otherwise damaged eye windows must be immediately replaced.

• Eye protection is provided by the built-in hood eye window and swivel-mounted welding ﬁ lter, position of which can be adjusted in the vertical direction. For recommended darkness levels for various applications see Tables A and B

• Before you start welding you can look through the hood eye window, which provides effective protection against harmful radiation. During welding you must look also through the swivel-mounted welding ﬁ lter, though.

• Observe the recommended working distance between the welder‘s hood and the welded material (min. 50 cm)

• If higher darkness level then DIN 12 is required, replace the standard welding ﬁ lter with the VR-1 large welding ﬁ lter - it covers the whole viewing ﬁ eld.

• Do not take the welder‘s hood off your head and do not switch off the PAPR or the CleanAIR® compressed air system until you leave the contaminated workplace.

• Use only certiﬁ ed original air ﬁ lters designed for your ﬁ ltration-ventilation unit. Change the air ﬁ lters whenever you can feel a change in the smell of the air coming from the unit.

• Filters designed to trap solid and liquid particles (particle ﬁ lters) do not protect the user against any gases.

Air ﬁ lters designed to trap gases do not protect the user against any particles. Combined air ﬁ lters must be used for working environments contaminated with both kinds of pollution.

Deployment and adjustment methods

1) Use the settings wheel at the nape of the neck to adjust the optimum size of the headband.

2) Use the positioner beneath the headband holding screw on the right-hand side to adjust the distance between your face and the hood. (item 14)

3) Attach the hose to the ﬁ ltration-ventilation unit/compressed air system.

4) Fasten the screws on both left and right sides of the shield to a moment when the shield can easily move up and down while stays in the upper position when opened.

5) Attach a hose to the welder‘s hood.

6) Check the tightness of the connection between the unit and the hood and also the operational status of the PAPR. (Check, whether the operating pressure range is within the expected limits when using the compressed air system.)

Maintenance and storage

• Welding equipment must be carefully cleaned after each working shift. Use neutral soap with clean water for cleaning.

• Solvents will damage both the hood and the optical ﬁ lters.

Scratched ﬁ lters must be replaced with new ones. Store the cleaned hoods only in dry and cool environment beyond the reach of direct sunlight and dirt.

• Use only original spare parts.

Recycling

This system must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations for the disposal of waste of this kind.

CA-28 Euromaski complies with the European requirements speciﬁ ed in 89/688/EEC in compliance with EN 166, EN 169, EN 170 and EN 175. The product was allocated the CE marking. CA-28 Euromaski has been tested and approved for use with the CleanAIR® powered air purifying respirators in accordance with EN 12941/A2 and EN 14594:2005 as amended by subsequent provisions. For the list of approved combinations and protection levels classiﬁ cation see Table C.

CA-28 EUROMASKI NÁVOD K POUŽITÍ

Úvod Svářečská kukla CA-28 Euromaski je určena pro použití s ﬁ ltračně-ventilačními jednotkami (dále jen FVJ)

CleanAIR® nebo s hadicovými dýchacími přístroji na tlakový vzduch se stálým průtokem (dále jen systémy tlakového vzduchu CleanAIR®) a poskytuje tak ochranu dýchacích cest, obličeje a zraku proti škodlivému ultraﬁ alovému / infračervenému záření a svařovacímu rozstřiku. Všechny schválené produktové kombinace jsou uvedeny v tabulce C.

CleanAIR® je systém osobní ochrany dýchacích cest, založený na principu přetlaku ﬁ ltrovaného vzduchu v

dýchací zóně. FVJ umístěná na opasku uživatele ﬁ ltruje vzduch nasávaný z okolního prostředí, který je pak vzduchovou hadicí veden do ochranné kukly. Vzniklý přetlak zabraňuje vniknutí škodlivin do dýchací zóny a zároveň zajišťuje vysoký uživatelský komfort i při dlouhodobém nošení bez nutnosti překonávat dýchací odpor ﬁ ltru. Poskytuje ochranu proti pevným částicím ve formě kapalných i pevných aerosolů, plynům a parám v závislosti na zvoleném typu ﬁ ltru.

Schválení, certiﬁ kace Svářečská kukla CA-28 Euromaski je schválena v souladu s požadavky evropské normy EN 12941 třídy

TH2. Všechny části používaného systému musí být schváleny výrobcem a používány v souladu s pokyny uvedenými v této příručce.

VAROVÁNÍ A OMEZENÍ POUŽITÍ

• Před použitím systému musí být uživatel řádně seznámen s možnými riziky na pracovišti a být řádně poučen o bezpečném používání osobního ochranného prostředku. V případě jakýchkoliv nejasností kontaktujte výrobce nebo svého distributora.

• Svářečská kukla CA-28 Euromaski musí být používána výhradně s FVJ CleanAIR tlakového vzduchu CleanAIR CleanAIR® nebo s návodem k použití systému tlakového vzduchu CleanaAIR

. Prostudujte proto tento návod společně s návodem k použití FVJ

nebo se systémy

• Nepoužívejte v uzavřených prostorách, v prostředí s nedostatkem kyslíku (<17%), v kyslíkem obohaceném prostředí (>23%) nebo kde hrozí okamžité ohrožení života nebo zdraví.

• Nepoužívejte v prostředí, kde uživateli není znám druh kontaminace ani její koncentrace.

• Nepoužívejte, pokud je ﬁ ltračně-ventilační jednotka vypnuta nebo je uzavřen přívod tlakového vzduchu! U ﬁ ltračních systémů s kuklou je při vypnutém ventilátoru či uzavřeném přívodu tlakového vzduchu ochrana dýchacích orgánů malá nebo žádná. Rovněž může dojít uvnitř kukly ke zvýšení koncentrace oxidu uhličitého a snížení obsahu kyslíku.

• Pokud FVJ nebo systém tlakového vzduchu CleanAIR® přestane během používání z jakéhokoliv důvodu pracovat, uživatel musí neprodleně opustit kontaminované pracoviště.

• Při velmi namáhavé práci může dojít uvnitř kukly k vytvoření podtlaku při nadechování a tím snížení ochranného faktoru.

• Hlavová část musí být vždy správně utěsněna k obličeji, aby byla zaručena maximální úroveň ochrany uživatele. V případě, že se do těsnící linie dostanou vousy nebo dlouhé vlasy, může dojít vlivem netěsností k poklesu poskytované ochrany.

• Nepoužívejte, pokud je jakákoliv část systému poškozena. Hlavový díl a vzduchová hadice musí být zkontrolována před každým použitím. Případné trhliny nebo netěsnosti mohou negativně ovlivnit požadovanou úroveň ochrany uživatele.

• Poškrábané nebo jinak poškozené zorníky je třeba neprodleně vyměnit.

• Ochrana očí je zajištěna vestavěným zorníkem kukly a výklopným svářečským ﬁ ltrem, který je polohovatelný ve vertikálním směru. Doporučené tmavosti pro různé aplikace naleznete v tabulkách A a B

• Před samotným zahájením svařování je možné se dívat přes zorník kukly, který poskytuje účinnou ochranu proti škodlivému záření. Během svařování je však nutné dívat se i přes výklopný svářečský ﬁ ltr.

• Dodržujte doporučenou pracovní vzdálenost svářečské kukly od svařovaného materiálu (min. 50cm)

• Pro vyšší stupeň tmavosti než DIN 12 vyměňte standardní svářečský ﬁ ltr za velký svářečský ﬁ ltr VR-1, který překrývá celé zorné pole.

• Nesundávejte svářečskou kuklu z hlavy ani nevypínejte FVJ či systém tlakového vzduchu CleanAIR® dokud neopustíte kontaminované pracoviště.

• Používejte pouze certiﬁ kované originální vzduchové ﬁ ltry určené pro Vaši ﬁ ltračně-ventilační jednotku. Vyměňte vzduchové ﬁ ltry pokaždé, ucítíte-li změnu pachu přiváděného vzduchu přicházejícího od jednotky.

• Filtry určené k zachycování pevných a kapalných částic (částicové) nechrání uživatele proti žádným plynům. Vzduchové ﬁ ltry určené k zachycování plynů nechrání uživatele proti žádným částicím. Pro pracov ní prostředí kontaminované oběma druhy znečištění je nutno používat kombinované vzduchové ﬁ ltry.

Způsob nasazení a nastavení

1) Pro nastavení optimální velikosti hlavového kříže použijte nastavovací kolečko na zátylku.

2) Vzdálenost mezi tváří a kuklou se nastavuje pomocí polohovače pod upevňovacím šroubem hlavového kříže na pravé straně. (položka 14)

3) Připojte hadici k ﬁ ltračně-ventilační jednotce / systému tlakového vzduchu.

4) Dotáhněte šrouby na levé a pravé straně štítu tak, aby se mohl snadno pohybovat směrem nahoru a dolů a zároveň při otevření zůstal v horní poloze.

5) Připojte hadici ke svářečské kukle.

6) Vyzkoušejte, zda připojení k jednotce a kukle je pevné a těsné, FVJ je plně funkční. (V případě, že používáte systém tlakového vzduchu, zkontrolujte, zda je rozsah pracovního tlaku v normě.)

Údržba a skladování

• Svářečskou výstroj je třeba po každé pracovní směně řádně očistit. K čištění používejte neutrální mýdlo a čistou vodu.

• Používání rozpouštědel způsobí poškození kukly a optických ﬁ ltrů.

Poškrábané ﬁ ltry musí být vyměněny za nové. Skladujte očištěné kukly pouze v suchém chladném prostředí mimo dosah přímého slunečního světla a nečistot.

• Používejte pouze originální náhradní díly.

Recyklace

Likvidujte v souladu s místními předpisy pro likvidaci odpadů tohoto typu.

CleanAIR

is een systeem voor persoonlijke bescherming van de luchtwegen, gebaseerd op het principe van overdruk van geﬁ lterde lucht in de ademzone. De ﬁ lter- en ventilatie-unit aan de riem van de gebruiker ﬁ ltert de aangezogen lucht uit de omringende omgeving, die vervolgens door een luchtslang geleid wordt naar de beschermende helm. De verkregen overdruk voorkomt het binnendringen van schadelijke deeltjes in de

WAARSCHUWING EN BEPERKING VAN GEBRUIK

• Voorafgaand aan het gebruik van het systeem moet de gebruiker naar behoren bekendgemaakt zijn met de mogelijke risico‘s op de werkplaats en naar behoren zijn geïnformeerd over het veilige gebruik van het persoonlijke beschermingsmiddel. In geval van onduidelijkheid neemt u contact op met de producent of uw leverancier.

• De lashelm CA-28 Euromaski mag uitsluitend gebruikt worden met de CleanAIR® ﬁ lter- en ventilatie-units of met een CleanAIR® persluchtsysteem. Bestudeert u daarvoor deze handleiding tezamen met de gebruikershandleiding van de CleanAIR® ﬁ lter- en ventilatie-unit of de handleiding van het CleanaAIR® persluchtsysteem.

• Niet te gebruiken in gesloten ruimtes, in een omgeving met een tekort aan zuurstof (<17%), in een omge ving verrijkt met zuurstof (>23%) of waar een onmiddellijk gevaar voor het leven of de gezondheid dreigt.

• Niet te gebruiken in een omgeving, waar de gebruiker niet bekend is met het soort van contaminatie en de concentratie ervan.

• Niet te gebruiken, wanneer de ﬁ lter- en ventilatie-unit uit staat of wanneer de toevoer van perslucht is afgesloten! Bij ﬁ ltersystemen met helm is bij uitgeschakelde ventilator of afgesloten toevoer van perslucht de bescherming van de ademhalingsorganen klein of nihil. Tegelijkertijd kunnen er in de helm een verhoogde concentratie van stikstof en een verlaagd zuurstofgehalte ontstaan.

• Indien de ﬁ lter- en ventilatie-unit of het systeem voor perslucht van CleanAIR® tijdens het gebruik om een of andere reden stopt te functioneren, moet de gebruiker onmiddellijk de gecontamineerde werkplek verlaten.

• Tijdens zeer intensief werk kan er in de helm een onderdruk ontstaan bij het inademen en daarmee wordt de beschermingsfactor verlaagd.

• Het hoofdgedeelte moet altijd op juiste wijze dicht tegen het gezicht zitten, opdat de gebruiker een maximaal beschermingsniveau wordt geboden. In het geval van obstructie in de afdichtingslijn door bijvoorbeeld een baard of lange haren, kan door onvoldoende afdichting de beschermingsgraad afnemen.

• Niet te gebruiken bij beschadiging van een van de systeemonderdelen. Het hoofdgedeelte en de luchtslang moeten gecontroleerd worden voorafgaand aan ieder gebruik. Eventuele barsten of slechte afdichting kunnen een negatieve invloed hebben op het beschermingsniveau.

• Bekraste of anders beschadigde kijkvlakken moeten onverwijld worden vervangen.

• Bescherming van de ogen wordt verzekerd door de ingebouwde kijklens van de helm en een opklapbare lasﬁ lter, die op en neer verstelbaar is. De verschillende graden van donkerheid voor verschillende toepassingen vindt u in de tabellen A en B.

• Voor aanvang van het lassen kan men kijken door de lens van de helm, die effectieve bescherming biedt tegen schadelijk straling. Tijdens het lassen is het echter noodzakelijk tevens door de verstelbare lasﬁ lter te kijken.

• Behoud de aanbevolen werkafstand tussen de lashelm en het gelaste materiaal (min. 50 cm).

• Voor een hogere donkertegraad dan DIN 12 vervangt u de standaard lasﬁ lter voor de lasﬁ lter VR-1, die het gehele zichtveld bedekt.

• Neem de lashelm niet van het hoofd en zet het CleanAIR

ﬁ lter- en ventilatie-systeem of het persluchsysteem

niet uit, voordat u de gecontamineerde ruimte heeft verlaten.

• Gebruik alleen gecertiﬁ ceerde oorspronkelijke luchtﬁ lters bestemd voor uw ﬁ lter-ventilatiesysteem.

Verwissel de luchtﬁ lter steeds, wanneer u een verandering ruikt in de toegevoerde lucht, die aangevoerd wordt vanuit de eenheid.

• Filters voor het opvangen van vaste en vloeibare deeltjes beschermen de gebruiker niet tegen gassen. Filters voor het opvangen van gassen beschermen niet tegen schadelijk deeltjes. Voor een werkomgeving gecontamineerd met beide soorten van vervuiling is het noodzakelijk gebruik te maken van gecombineerde luchtﬁ lters.

3) Sluit de slang aan op de (ﬁ lter-) ventilatie-eenheid / het systeem voor perslucht.

4) Draai de schroeven aan de linker- en rechterkant van het masker zodanig aan, dat het gemakkelijk op en neer te bewegen is en tegelijkertijd na openen in de bovenpositie blijft staan.

5) Sluit de slang aan op de lashelm.

6) Controleer of de aansluiting op de eenheid en de helm stevig en dicht is en de ﬁ lter- en ventilatie-unit volledig functioneert. (Wanneer u gebruik maakt van een systeem met perslucht, controleert u of het bereik van de werkdruk binnen de norm valt.)
