Safety

• Theappliance should only be connected to a230 V, 50 Hz power supply.

• Never use theappliance with another stand than theone that was included at purchase.

• Never overfill theappliance. Max capacity: 1 litre.

• Theappliance’s lid should always be closed during operation. Never open thelid
while theappliance is heating or on theboil.

• Place thestand plate on aflat dry surface and out of children’s reach.

• Never immerse theappliance or its stand plate in water.

• Hot steam rises from theappliance’s spout during operation. Please be careful.

• Theappliance is designed for normal domestic use in thehome, office, etc.

• Theappliance is intended for indoor use only.

• Never touch thehousing of theappliance while it is warming up or after boiling.
Always use thehandle.

• Be careful and attentive when pouring out thewater after it has boiled.

• Theappliance and its stand plate should only be used as described in theinstruc­tion manual.

• Never fill theappliance with any other liquid than water.

• Do not overfill. Thewater level should be between themin and max marks.

• Always unplug theappliance from thewall socket before cleaning/maintenance or
when it is not in use for anextended period.

• Make sure that themains lead does not drape over theedge of tables or work­tops. Make sure that thelead does not come into contact with hot surfaces,
e.g. awarm hob.

• Do not touch theappliance if your hands are moist or wet.

• Do not subject thestand of theappliance to moisture, impacts or high
temperatures.

• Do not pull or carry thestand plate by thelead. Do not pull thelead around sharp
corners or edges. Make sure thelead is not crushed or pinched by drawers or
cupboard doors.

• Never use theappliance if it has been damaged in any way. Do not use theappliance
if thepower lead or its plug is damaged.

• Never use theappliance if you have dropped it on thefloor, left it outdoors or
dropped it into water.

• Never try to open thecasing. Certain components inside thecasing are exposed
and carry dangerous electrical current. Contact with these components could
result in electric shock.

• If themains lead is damaged in any way it must be replaced by aqualified

electrician.

• Theappliance must only be repaired by qualified service technicians.

• Theappliance must not be taken apart or modified.

• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning use of theappliance in asafe
way and if they understand thehazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance
shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.

• Keep theappliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.

• Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of theappliance in asafe way and understand
thehazards involved.

• Children shall not play with theappliance.

Power plug and cord replacement

If the cord is damaged it must, for safety reasons, be replaced by an authorized
repairer.
For non-rewireable plugs the fuse cover MUST be refitted when replacing the fuse.
If the fuse cover is lost then the plug must not be used until a replacement can be
obtained. The correct fuse cover is identified by colour.
If a non-rewireable plug is cut off it must be DESTROYED IMMEDIATELY. An electric
shock hazard may arise if an unwanted non-rewireable plug is inadvertently inserted into
a 13A socket outlet.

Operating instructions

1. Remove thekettle from thestand plate.

2. Open thelid and fill thekettle with water.
Note: Never fill over the1-litre mark. Never fill with less water than theMIN mark.
If thewater level does not reach up to theMIN mark during operation, thekettle
will automatically shut off in order to protect it from overheating.

3. Place thekettle onto its stand.

4. Plug in themains lead into apower point and set the [ 0/I ] switch to theIposition.
The [ 0/I ] switch will light indicating that thekettle is on. Thekettle is now
in operation. Thekettle will shut off automatically once thewater has boiled.

5. You can manually interrupt theboiling process by placing the [ 0/I ] switch in
the0 position. If after pouring out some water, you wish to boil theremainder
(assuming thewater level reaches up to theMIN mark), set the [ 0/I ] switch back
to theIposition.

Note: Boil two full kettles of water and dry thekettle before using it for thefirst time.
Let thekettle cool down properly after use before refilling it with new water.

Note: Make sure that there is nothing preventing the [ 0/I ] switch from automatically
returning to the0 position after boiling. If there is any object preventing thekettle’s
switch from returning to the0 position thekettle will continue in boiling mode.

Overheat/boil-dry protection

Theoverheat/boil-dry protection will automatically turn off thekettle if it is accidentally
turned on when dry or if thewater level lies below theMIN mark.

Care and maintenance

• Clean theproduct using alightly moistened cloth. Only use mild cleaning agents,
never solvents or corrosive chemicals.

• Remove thespout filter when necessary by carefully pressing it downwards to
release thelock catch and carefully removing it. Clean thefilter and refit it by
setting thelower catch in place first.

• If thekettle is not to be used for anextended period, wind thelead into thestand
for storage. Clean thekettle and place it on its stand in dry, dust-free environment
for storage.

Descaling

After some use limescale may build up in thekettle. For descaling, use amixture of
water and white vinegar (acetic acid) or aspecial descaling agent that can be
purchased at most supermarkets, etc.

1. Mix 1 dl of white vinegar (not regular vinegar) with 3 dl cold water or follow
thedirections included with thedescaling agent.

2. Pour themixture into thekettle and turn it on. Let themixture boil twice.
Thereafter, pour themixture away.

3. In order to remove thelast remnants of limescale and descaling agent, thekettle
should be filled to theMAX mark with fresh water. Turn thekettle on and let it come
to theboil.

4. Pour out thewater and repeat this process 3 times.

Thekettle should be descaled after every 2–3 months of daily use.

Disposal

This product should be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
If you are unsure how to proceed, contact your local authority.

• Tänk på att het ånga stiger upp ur hällpipen under uppvärmning/kokning.

• Vattenkokaren är avsedd för normalt bruk i hem, kontor etc.

• Vattenkokaren får endast användas inomhus.

• Ta aldrig i vattenkokarens hölje under eller efter uppvärmning/kokning, använd
alltid handtaget.

• Var försiktig och uppmärksam när du häller ut det heta vattnet ur vattenkokaren.

• Vattenkokaren och bottenplattan får endast användas på det sätt som beskrivs
i den här bruksanvisningen.

• Fyll aldrig vattenkokaren med annan vätska än vatten.

• Överfyll inte, vattennivån ska vara mellan markeringarna för min-. och max.

• Dra alltid stickproppen ur vägguttaget före rengöring/underhåll och när
vattenkokaren inte ska användas under en längre period.

• Se till att nätsladden inte hänger ut över bänkens eller bordets kant.
Försäkra dig om att nätsladden inte kan komma i kontakt med varma ytor som
t.ex. en spisplatta.

• Ta inte i vattenkokaren om du är våt eller fuktig om händerna.

• Utsätt inte vattenkokaren för fukt, slag, stötar eller höga temperaturer.

• Dra eller bär inte bottenplattan i nätsladden. Dra inte heller nätsladden runt vassa
hörn och kanter. Kontrollera att den inte kan komma i kläm i köksinredning etc.

• Använd inte vattenkokaren om den på något sätt är skadad. Använd den inte heller
om nätsladden eller stickproppen är skadade.

• Använd inte vattenkokaren om du har tappat den i golvet, lämnat kvar den
utomhus eller tappat den i vatten.

• Försök aldrig öppna höljet. Farlig spänning finns oskyddad på vissa komponenter
inuti vattenkokarens hölje. Kontakt med dessa kan ge upphov till elektriska stötar.
