Safety

• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years
and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of theappliance in asafe way and understand
thehazards involved.

• Children shall not play with theappliance.

• Cleaning and maintenance may be carried out by children
aged 8 or over, but only under adult supervision.
Keep theappliance and its mains lead out of reach of children
under theage of 8.

• If thesupply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by
themanufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified
persons in order to avoid ahazard.

• Theelement in thebase will begin heating thewater in
thetray. Warning: Theegg boiler gets hot when used and
cools slowly. To avoid burning yourself, only lift theboiler by
thehandle. Do not move theegg boiler when it is turned on.

• This egg boiler is intended for normal domestic use or under
similar conditions such as in staff kitchens or hotel rooms.

• Bear in mind that theegg boiler will become hot when used
and will take awhile to cool down. To avoid burning yourself,
only hold thekettle by thehandle.

• Place theegg boiler on adry and even surface.

• Do not place theegg boiler where it could fall into water or
any other type of fluid.

• Keep aneye on theegg boiler if you are using it close to children.

• Theegg boiler must only be used in accordance with
theinstructions described in this instruction manual.
Incorrect use can lead to electrical shock or other hazards.

• Always unplug theegg boiler from thewall socket before cleaning.

• Do not open thehousing. Certain components inside thecasing
carry dangerous electrical current. Contact with these components
could result in electric shock.

• Theegg boiler should only be repaired by qualified service
personnel.

• Theegg boiler should not be taken apart or changed.

• Do not subject theegg boiler to blows and impacts.

• Do not us theegg boiler if thelead or plug is damaged.
Neither should it be used if it has been dropped on thefloor,
left outdoors or dropped in water.

• This product is only intended to be used and stored indoors.

• Do not pull or carry theegg boiler by thelead. Do not use
thelead as ahandle and do not let it fasten in door jambs.
Do not pull thelead around sharp corners or edges.

• Always disconnect theplug from thewall socket before cleaning
theegg boiler or when it is not to be used for along time.

• This egg boiler is designed for domestic use and similar
environments.

• Theegg boiler is not designed for commercial use.

• Themains lead should be checked regularly. Never use
theegg boiler if themains lead or plug is damaged.

Before initial use

• Remove all packaging.

• Wash theegg boiler before you use it for thefirst time. Always unplug theegg
boiler from thewall socket before cleaning. Never immerse theegg boiler in water.
The lid and egg rack can be washed in thesink. The base and thewater tray
should be wiped with asoft, water-moistened cloth with alittle washing-up liquid.
Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaning agents. Dry carefully after cleaning.

• The egg boiler may emit alittle smoke and odour thefirst time it is used. This is quite
normal and is caused by theburning of residues left from themanufacturing process.

Operating instructions

1. Place theegg rack on thebase.

2. Make alittle hole in each egg using thepricker. Be careful so as not to break
theegg. Warning: The egg pricker is very sharp.

3. Place thewider end of theegg in theegg holder.

4. Pour theappropriate amount of water into themeasuring cup. The amount of
water depends on how many eggs you are boiling and on how hard you want to
boil your egg/s (soft, medium or hard-boiled). There are three scales on themea­suring cup showing how much water is needed for various cooking results:

- Scale 1 – soft-boiled Cooking time approx 12 min

- Scale 2 – medium-boiled Cooking time approx 15 min

- Scale 3 – hard-boiled Cooking time approx 17 min

Example: For 4 soft-boiled eggs, fill themeasuring cup to level 4 on scale 1. If your
water is very hard you can also add half ateaspoon of vinegar. Otherwise, no other
liquids besides water may be used. Never use salt in theegg boiler.

5. Pour themeasured water from themeasuring cup into thewater tray. Be careful
not to spill any water.

6. Refit thelid. Make sure that thelid and egg rack are securely seated onto thebase.

7. Make sure that theon/off switch is set to 0 when you connect thedevice to themains.

8. Plug theegg boiler into awall socket and set theon/off switch to 1. The indicator
lamp will come on.

9. When all thewater in theboiler has evaporated theegg/s will be ready and asignal will
sound. The indicator lamp will go out and theheating element will automatically turn off.

10. Set theon/off switch to 0 to turn off theaudible signal. Pull theplug out.

11. Carefully remove thelid from thebase. Hold thelid by thehandle!

12. Remove theegg rack from thebase and cool theeggs by running them under cold
water. The eggs are now ready to serve.

Care and cleaning

Always unplug theegg boiler from thewall socket before cleaning. Never immerse
theegg boiler in water. The lid and egg rack can be washed in thesink. The base
and thewater tray should be wiped with asoft, water-moistened cloth with alittle
washing-up liquid. Avoid using solvents and abrasive cleaning agents. Dry carefully
after cleaning.

Warning: Do not allow any electrical components to come into contact with water.

Descaling

Eggshells are rich in calcite. This can build up on thewater tray if it is not descaled
regularly. To descale, make adescaling mixture by pouring asmall amount of vinegar
into themeasuring cup and then filling therest with water. Pour themixture into
thewater tray. Let themixture stand and work for 30 minutes before emptying thetray.
Dry carefully with asoft cloth. Note: Do not boil themixture in theegg boiler!

Disposal

This product should be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
If you are unsure how to proceed, contact your local council.
