ENGLISH
Tips and advice
• Never run theblender empty (with anempty jug).
• If you intend to blend frozen ingredients, you must start theblender as soon as they have been added, otherwise they might freeze together and jam theblades.
• Do not fill thejug with hot liquid alone as thepressure build-up can be too high.
• Never shake thejug whilst themotor is running. If ingredients get stuck on thesides of thejug, turn off theblender and use aspatula or thelike. Do not start theblender again until you have replaced thelid properly.
• Never blend ingredients that are hotter than 80°C.
Important considerations
• Use extra caution when blending hot liquids.
• Use theinterval mode (or use themanual mode and choose your own intervals) when mixing solid ingredients or very thick liquids to prevent theblades from becoming stuck.
Mixing solid foodstuffs into purée
• Cut theingredients into small pieces (2–3 cm), remove thecentre cap and add afew pieces at atime. This is better than adding everything all at once.
• Always add alittle liquid to solid foodstuffs before starting to mix them. Then remove thecentre cap and gradually add more liquid.
6
Safety switch
Thelid is fitted with asafety switch,
which means that thelid must be properly locked as illustrated before theblender will start.
Thejug must also be properly seated on themotor unit, as illustrated, before theblender will start.
Programme
1. Set thecontrol panel knob to programme mode by turning it anticlockwise. Thethree programme selection buttons will light up.
2. Press [ Ice Crush ], [ Smoothie ] or [ Interval ].
3. Theblender will run on anautomatic programme with different speeds and pauses. Theprogramme will automatically stop after approximately 2 minutes. You can stop theprogramme at any time by turning thecontrol panel knob to 0.

Control the blender manually
Turn theknob clockwise to thedesired speed.
Theblender has abuilt-in timer that is activated
ENGLISH
when you choose to control theblender manually. Thetimer turns off theblender after aset time depending on theselected speed. Refer to thetable below:
Selected speed Time (sec) before thetimer
turns off theblender
1 600 2 450 3 300 4 240 5 180 6 120
• When thetimer turns off theblender, theLED indicators on thecontrol panel start flashing to indicate this.
• Theindicators will flash for 12 seconds and then turn off. You must return theknob to the 0 position to deactivate thetimer regardless of whether the12 seconds have passed.
Care, maintenance and storage
• Turn off theblender by setting thefunction knob to the 0 position and then unplug it.
Never immerse themotor unit in water. Wipe theoutside of themotor unit with aclean, damp cloth. Use only mild cleaning agents, never solvents or corrosive chemicals.
• Switch theblender off, unplug themains lead from thewall socket and store thecleaned blender in adry, dust-free place out of children’s reach whenever it is not to be used for anextended period.
• If you remove thesealing ring from thelid to wash it, make sure that it is refitted theright way up. The little flange on thesealing ring should be at thebottom.
8
Cleaning the jug with the blades fitted
1. Empty thejug, fill it with water and some mild washing-up liquid if appropriate.
2. Refit thejug on themotor unit and start theblender using theinterval function.
3. Empty thewashing-up water from thejug. Rinse thejug with clean water and let it dry.
Cleaning with the blades removed
Be careful with theblender blades as they are extremely sharp.
1. Turn thejug upside down and unscrew theholder and blades from thejug by turning them anticlockwise.
2. Carefully wash theholder and blades by hand. Thejug and lid are dishwasher safe.
3. Let theparts dry before refitting them in thejug.
