SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: TO AVOID PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR PROPERTY DAMAGE,
PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW ALL OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE.
WORK AREA
1. Keep the work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark areas invite
accidents.
2. Keep children and bystanders away while operating the log splitter.
Distractions can cause you to lose control.
3. The surface must be perfectly level to prevent the log from moving during
operation.
PERSONAL SAFETY
1. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when
operating a log splitter. DO NOT use the log splitter while you are tired or
under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of
inattention while operating the log splitter may result in serious personal
injury.
2. ALWAYS use safety equipment. ALWAYS wear eye protection, non-skid
safety shoes/boots, close fitting clothing and suitable work gloves.
3. DO NOT overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This
enables better control of the log splitter in unexpected situations.
USAGE AND CARE
1. DO NOT force the log splitter. It will do the job better and safer at the rate
for which it was designed.
2. Store the log splitter out of the reach of children and do not allow persons
unfamiliar with the log splitter or these instructions to operate the log
splitter. Log splitters are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
3. ALWAYS transport the log splitter in the retracted position making sure the
locking/transit bolt is firmly in place. If the bolt is not properly secured, the
wedge may drop unexpectedly and may cause injury.
4. When holding or carrying the log splitter, ALWAYS use both hands, one
holding the upper handle and one supporting the lower part.
5. Maintain the log splitter. Check for breakage of parts and any other
condition that may affect the operation of the log splitter. If damaged,
have the log splitter repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by
poorly maintained tools.

identical replacement parts. This will ensure that safety is maintained.
ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONS FOR LOG SPLITTERS.
• All personnel must read the manual or receive correct training before
they use the log splitter.
• Before starting work, check for soundness of welded joints, securing
nuts & bolts.
• Make sure that the log splitter functions as expected before use.
• NEVER tamper with the log splitter.
• The operator must take all necessary precautions to minimise the risk of
accidental damage or injury due to wood being ejected.
• The log splitter is designed for one person operation.
• DO NOT allow split logs to accumulate; always clean up as you work.
Accumulated split logs and wood chips can create a hazardous work
environment.
• Split wood in the direction of the grain. Do not attempt to split a piece of
wood across the grain.
• Please note some particular characteristics of wood when being
split. A small log can sometimes be hard to split if it has knots or
particularly tough fibres. It is important NOT to persist if the log does
not split fairly easily.

SETTING UP
SETTING UP & USAGE
NOTE: This log splitter is only designed to split dried logs.
1. Select a hard level surface, such
as a driveway or concrete floor to
create your workspace.
2. Place a flat piece of wood/board
on the hard surface. This will save
the blade and work surface from
damage.
3. The LOGBUSTER is designed to
slide within itself, a locking/transit
bolt is fitted to stop this movement
while in transit. The bolt will only
work when the inner tube (Lower Handle) is fully retracted into the outer
tube (Upper Handle)
4. Always make sure that the
locking/transit bolt is locked in
place before lifting and
transporting the LOGBUSTER.
5. Hold the LOGBUSTER by the upper
rubber grip with one hand and
support the lower part with the
other hand when transporting.
6. Position the log to be split upright
on the work surface.
7. Still holding the upper grip and
supporting the lower part of the
LOGBUSTER, position the blade
onto the log. Keep fingers away
from the blade tip.

8. Unscrew the locking/transit bolt so
that the LOGBUSTER can slide freely.
9. Stand with feet suitably spaced for
stability and away from the line of
the splitting blade.
10. Hold the rubber grip and support
the upper handle of the LOGBUSTER
only, raise it upwards and give a
sharp downward jab to engage the
blade into the log.
11. With the blade now engaged, use
both hands on the rubber grip to
raise the upper handle of the
LOGBUSTER and stab downwards, repeat this until the log splits.
12. Depending on the type of wood, the straightness of the grain, dimensions,
moisture content etc, it may be necessary to repeat the splitting operation
several times before the split is complete.
