carefully follow all directions given. By doing so you will ensure safe operation of the
unit and you can also look forward to it providing you with long and trouble free
service.

This CLARKE product is guaranteed against faults in manufacture for 12 months from
purchase date. Please keep your receipt as proof of purchase.
This guarantee is invalid if the product has been found to have been abused in any
way, or not used for the purpose for which it was intended, or to have been tampered with in any way. The reason for return must be clearly stated.
This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
• This heater is for indoor use only.
• ALWAYS disconnect from the mains supply before moving or performing
any maintenance tasks.
• DO NOT use this heater in a bathroom or shower room.
• DO NOT use this heater in the vicinity of a swimming pool.
• DO NOT use this heater in greenhouses or construction areas.
• DO NOT position the heater below an electrical outlet.
• NEVER position the heater near combustible materials such as curtains,
furniture etc. Allow at least 2 metres clearence.
• DO NOT position the heater close to an adjacent wall or ceiling, allow a
distance of at least 1 metre from the wall or ceiling.
• ONLY use the heater in an upright position.
• NEVER cover the heater, or block any of the vents.
• NEVER use the heater if either of the guards have been removed.
• DO NOT use if the IR Halogen Tubes are damaged or broken.
• NEVER touch the heater elements- even when cold.
• NEVER touch the heater for at least 15 minutes after it is switched off.
• INSPECT the mains cable regularly for signs of damage. DO NOT use the
heater if the mains cable is damaged.
• ALWAYS keep mains cable away from the source of heat.
• NEVER use the heater with a timer device as this could be a fire hazard
should the heater move for any reason whilst unattended.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
230 VOLT MODELS
Connect the mains lead to a standard, 230 Volt (50Hz) electrical supply through an
approved 13 amp BS 1363 plug, or a suitably fused isolator switch.
WARNING! THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED
IMPORTANT: The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following
code:
As the colours of the flexible lead of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying terminals in your plug, or your mains supply, proceed as follows:
• Connect GREEN & YELLOW coloured cord to plug terminal marked with a
letter “E” or Earth symbol “ ” or coloured GREEN or GREEN & YELLOW.
• Connect BROWN cord to terminal marked with a letter “L” or coloured RED.
• Connect BLUE cord to terminal marked with a letter “N” or coloured BLACK.
FUSE RATING
The fuse in the plug must be replaced with one of the same rating (13 amps) and this
replacement must be ASTA approved to BS1362.

CABLE EXTENSION
Always use an approved cable extension suitable for the power rating of this tool (see
specifications), the conductor size should also be at least the same size as that on the
machine, or larger. When using a cable reel, always unwind the cable completely.
WARNING!
IF YOU ARE IN ANY DOUBT ABOUT ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS, CONSULT A
Tools Required: 2 x 13mm spanners and 1 x
Pozidrive screwdriver (medium).
ASSEMBLY
To reduce the risk of transit damage, the
support legs (2), castors (4) and the halogen
lamps (2) are not fitted.
1.Attach the four castors to the support legs
using the bolts, washers and nuts supplied.

2.Attach the legs to the main body using bolts
supplied. Fig 2
3.Fit the four handles as shown in Fig 2 using
the 8 screws supplied.
4.Insert the securing knobs into the rear of
each heating element.
Do not tighten them fully at this stage.
5.Connect the mains cable to a suitable
supply.
USING THE HEATER
1.Position the heater as required and lock the
wheels to prevent the heater from rolling.
2.Release the locking clips and use the
handles on each side of the heater to rotate
the heating element to the required position.
3.Tighten the securing knob on the back of the
heating element to lock in to place.
4.Use the on/off switch to turn on the required
heating element.

MAINTENANCE
Allow the heater to cool down for at least 15 minutes after switching off, before
performing any maintenance tasks.
REPLACING THE HEATING LAMPS
NEVER handle the heater lamps with bare hands, ALWAYS handle using either a soft
clean glove, or a piece of soft clean cloth wrapped around the lamp.
Before attempting to fit/replace heater lamps, ensure the heater is switched off and
isolated from the main electrical supply by removing the plug from the socket. Also
ensure the heater is in an upright position.
1.Loosen and remove the two pozidrive screws securing the chromed guard, remove
the guard and store removed parts safely.
2.To remove lamp, grasp lamp and gently but firmly push it towards one end of the
heater, the lamp holders are sprung loaded and will allow the lamp to move
sufficiently in order to clear the opposite holder.
3.Remove the lamp and dispose of according to local regulations.
4.Fit new halogen lamp in reverse order, repeat both procedures for second lamp.
5.Replace the guard using the screws removed earlier.
The heater is now ready for use again, and may be plugged in and switched on.
IMPORTANT
IF IN ANY DOUBT, ALWAYS CONSULT A QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN. DO NOT
CARRY OUT ANY REPAIRS YOURSELF.
CLEANING
• Disconnect from the mains supply, remove the guard and wipe the reflectors
with a clean dry cloth. DO NOT use abrasive cleaners. Take care NOT to touch
the tube with your fingers.
• Inspect the mains cable for damage. Heat damage will cause the cable to stiffen
and crack. If this is found, have the cable replaced (refer to your CLARKE dealer),
check cable routing and ensure it is well away from the heat source.
