SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
As with all tools and workshop equipment, it is necessary to exercise caution when
they are put to use. Be aware of the inherent dangers associated with their use.
• Ensure the tool is firmly bolted down.
• ALWAYS keep hands and fingers well away from the cutting blades.
• ALWAYS wear suitable safety goggles when using the tool to prevent against
the possibility of damage from flying splinters.
• Round stock should be cut using the hole provided in the cutting blade ONLY.
• The tool is designed for cutting low carbon (mild) steel only. The attempted cutting
of tool steels, high carbon or alloyed steels will damage the cutting blades.
• ALWAYS keep the cutting Blades sharp and free from burrs or other damage.
• DO NOT exceed the maximum size for cutting...see ‘Specifications’.
• DO NOT use an extension to the lever. If hand leverage cannot cut the
metal, then the work is either too large or it is of the wrong material.
ASSEMBLY
Attach the handle securely, using the two screws provided.
Mount the tool on a sturdy workbench at a height which allows easy operation,
taking into account the general nature of the work expected to be carried out. It
is also possible for the tool to be floor mounted, again, depending upon the work
expected to be carried out.
The tool must be secure. If floor mounted, ensure it is positioned so that it will not
cause an obstruction when not in use. It should be adequately marked to avoid the
possibility of individuals, or traffic etc., inadvertently coming into contact with it.
OPERATION
Position the stock piece between the cutting blades, from the left hand side,
ensuring the ‘kick back’ lever is in place, and directly above the stock. Pull the
lever to cut the desired length, holding the stock piece firmly.
Round stock should ALWAYS be inserted through the hole in the upper cutting Blade.
