The 12.2(18)EW is an old branch with features that have been implemented on the Catalyst 4500 platform more than 2 years ago, and hence
continuing support for maintenance of this branch is not scalable. The recommendation migration is to the 12.2(25)EWA branch, which is a very
stable branch and has regular maintenance releases. Furthermore, the 12.2(25)EWA branch has supports for enhanced security features, HA features
including SSO, the SupV-10GE supervisor, and the Catalyst 4900 fixed configuration switches. 12.2(25)EWA also has several critical bug fixes in
the area of security and optimization.
