Bringing your Stack Online
When connecting up your MS410 stack the recommended cabling method is to connect one uplink and then connect the stacking cables from stack port 1 to stack port 2 of the next switch. When at the bottom switch stack port 1 should connect back up to stack port 2 of the top switch. With this setup the switches will be able to connect to dashboard and update themselves and received any configuration necessary. Once the switches are up to date you may cable and configure as necessary.
It's recommended for bring-up to connect all of the stacking cables and a single uplink on the stack before powering the
switches on. This will allow all switches to connect and download any necessary firmware and configuration. The Status
LED will blink during firmware updates so that it will be visible if a switch is upgrading. Once all switches have had a
chance to update and are displaying solid White Status LEDs feel free to connect up the rest of the cables. More
information on dashboard for stacks can be found here.
