Cisco Aironet 1140 Series Access Point
The Cisco® Aironet® 1140 Series Access Point is a business-ready, indoor access point designed for simple deployment and energy efficiency. The 1140 Series is a dual-band, 802.11n access point with integrated antennas. It can be ordered in a controller-based* (lightweight) or Standalone (autonomous) version. It may also be ordered with a single-band 802.11g/n (2.4-GHz) radio for use in regulatory domains that do not allow 802.11a (5-GHz) operation.
*The Cisco Unified Wireless Network supports two architectural options - standalone and controller-based. The standalone solution does not require controllers and is ideal for small scale or distributed deployments. The controller-based option is recommended for businesses of any size and deployment topology. It is the most scalable solution and delivers the greatest flexibility and feature velocity for distributed or centralized deployments.
.
The Cisco Aironet 1140 Series ships with the following:
Access point
Software: Cisco Lightweight Access Point Protocol (LWAPP)1 software with the Controller-based version or Cisco IOS Software with the Standalone version
Mounting plate, security hasp, pair of ceiling-tile clips, and hardware accessory package
Documentation CD
The Cisco Aironet 1140 Series is available in several stock keeping units (SKUs), each of which identifies a particular regulatory domain (Tables 1 and 2). Each version provides a unique combination of channel and power settings that are compliant with local government regulations. To verify which version is operable in your country, visit
