User Manual
Thank you for purchasing the Caliber IVTM digital
hygrometer and ther mometer.
that this is the most dependable and accurate unit available in the
consumer market. To maintain your hygrometer in optimal
working order, we recommend that you review this manual
thoroughly to understand how to use the advance d features of the
Caliber IVTM.

Getting Started
1. Remove the plastic tab sticking out of the battery tray. This
will activate the display and begin the collection of readings.
2. Mount the unit onto the desired location. The best location is
in a central area where the airflow to the unit will not be
blocked. To attach the magnet mount to a surface, first ensure
that the surface is clean and free of any dust or other debris.
For best results, use an alcohol swab to clean the area where
the adhesive will be applied. Remove the backing paper from
the adhesive disc on the back of the magnet and apply firm
pressure to hold the magne t in place for about 30 seconds.
Allow the adhesive to dry for at least 24 hours before attaching
the hygrometer.
Min/Max Recording and Display
The Caliber IVtm will record the minimum and maximum values
for both humidity and temperature. To view the maximum
values, press the Min/Max/Clear button one time. The
maximum value will be displayed with the word MAX at the top
right of the temperature reading.
To view the minimum values, press the Min/Max/Clear button
two times. The minimum value will be displayed with the word
MIN at the top right of the humidity readi ng.
To reset the values, while viewing either the MAX or MIN value,
press and hold the Min/Max/Clear button for about 5 seconds.
When the display shows empty values, that MAX or MIN value
has been reset. Both values are reset independently. Removing or
replacing the battery will also reset both the minimum and
maximum values.

Calibrating the Humidity Display
1. Test the humidity display settings by placing the unit next to
another unit that is known to be accurate or by using the
Boveda One-Step Calibration Kit for at least 24 hours without
disturbing the environment*.
2. Determine the amount of calibration needed by taking the
display value and subtracting the expected value**. For
example, if you are expecting 70% but your unit displays 71%,
the amount of calibration needed is 71-70 = +1%.
3. Press the Set button for 3 seconds to place the unit into
calibration mode.
4. In calibration mode, you will see the current adjustment setting
flashing on the display. If this is the first time you are
calibrating your unit, it will show 0%. If you have already
calibrated the unit previously, you will see the current
adjustment.
5. Press the Min/Max/Clear button to adjust the display based
on your calibration. Pressing the button once will change the
adjustment by 1%. The adjustment range is +/-6% in the
following sequence: 0, +1, +2, +3, +4, +5, +6, -6, -5, -4, -3, 2, -1, 0.
6. When you have completed your adjustment, press the Set
button one more time and it will take the unit out of
calibration mode. If you leave the unit in calibration mode for
more than one minute without pressing any buttons, the unit
will automatically will change back to operations mode.
* We recommend the Bovida One-Step Calibration Kit over other
testing methods. In no case do we recommend using the salt test.
This test is not accurate and can damage and void the warranty on
your Caliber IVtm.
** The Caliber IV
is more than 6% out of calibration, please call us so that we can
troubleshoot with you or have you send it back for a factory
calibration.

Restoring Factory Calibration
To restore your Caliber IVtm back to factory calibration, simply
follow the calibration instructions above and adjust the display
back to 0%. This will restore the unit back to factory calibration.
Limited Warranty
The Caliber IVtm is covered by a limited warranty against defects
from materials or workmanship for a full 2 Years from the date of
purchase. Any misuse or excessive wear and tear is not covered
under the limited warranty. Keep your receipt in a secure location
as proof of purchase.
