The WF-802 is a family of products for home networking. The family supports a base unit and a WiFi unit. The base units are Ethernet adapters supporting G.hn PLC, G.hn coax or MoCa to facilitate communication from the home modem to other areas of the home where a LAN may not be available.
Multiple Ethernet units can be placed throughout the home with or without WiFi to extend the home network from the service modem.

The units with the WiFi module are factory assembled. Each base unit has an alternate cover that allows the WiFi unit to be connected via a bridge connector. The bridge connector provides an Ethernet and power connection between the base and WiFi. The host resides within WiFi module. Each of the base modules can operate independently as it contains its own embedded hostless ASIC.

There are Quick Start Guides (QSG) for all of the modules with and without WiFi. Each QSG contains the required FCC statements pertaining to interference and modification where appropriate.
There is no QSG for the WF-802-W as it is not sold as a standalone product.
Each unit that is configured with WiFi is assembled in the factory. Each type of base unit requires different FW to support the specific base unit configured. The radio FW is identical for each type of base unit.
It is not possible for the user to swap base units or operate the WF-802-W alone. There is no user power connection. All units are wall plug powered through the base unit.
