IMPORTANT: The terminal is factory-set for a standard installation.
The installer must configure the unit's parameters according to the specific requirements of the
installation and the climate.
1. FOREWORD
Thank you for choosing CIAT. We are confident that you will be completely satisfied with the heat
pump that you have just purchased, for many years to come. All CIAT products are designed to
optimise performance and to provide our customers with guaranteed comfort and energy savings.
This manual will help you to use the MicroConnect control terminal to ensure that you get the
best out of your heat pump. This document will guide you in the unit's simple programming and
routine maintenance operations.
With a view to continually improving this product, CIAT reserves the right to modify this manual
at any time.
It should be noted that this manual is common to all CIAT products fitted with a MicroConnect
control. Consequently, some functions may not be applicable to all configurations.
2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Keep out of the reach of children.
- Do not attempt to repair this unit yourself.
- Do not attempt to open the terminal.
- In the event of suspicious odour, abnormal noise or emission of smoke, switch your unit off and
contact your installer.
- Never use solvents to clean the control terminal.
- Do not place the terminal near to a source of heat and avoid direct exposure to sunlight.
- Do not place the control terminal in a metal box.
- This equipment must only be used indoors.

3. OVERVIEW
3.1 The remote control
The control terminal must be mounted and connected by your installer in one of the main rooms
of your house (e.g. lounge), observing the following conditions. As the terminal is fitted with an
indoor environment sensor, it must not be exposed to turbulence (e.g. draughts, direct sunlight,
heat from a fireplace, etc.) and must not be mounted on an exterior wall or in contact with an
unheated room in order to detect the most representative temperature of your home.
This terminal can be used to:
1- Define the desired operating mode (heating, cooling, frost protection.)
2- Define the desired temperature.
3- Carry out weekly programming.
3.2 Main functions

4. FIRST STEPS
4.1 Setting the time
• Position the selector to

4.2 The different operating modes
When the selector is positioned in heating mode ( ) or cooling mode ( ) (depending on the
model), it is possible to choose between 3 operating modes:
Comfort mode, economy mode,

In comfort mode,

The unit then regulates the temperature according to the new setpoint requested.

5. SETTINGS
It is possible to program the unit to switch automatically from comfort mode to economy mode at
pre-set times which can be different every day of the week.
To do this, configure the weekly programming mode.
To define the program to be used in heating mode, position the dial to:

5.1 Configuring the weekly programming
The display then shows:

Hour by hour over 24 hours, define if the unit should operate:
- In comfort mode: + button
- In economy mode: - button
Once programming has been completed for one day, skip to the next using the OK button
If you program the nights in economy mode (
), ensure that you do not drop the setpoint
more than 3°C below the comfort setpoint (
) so that the temperature can be easily raised
again in the morning.
5.2 Activating/deactivating the weekly programming
When the weekly programming information has been entered, position the function selector to
heating or cooling mode (depending on the model). Activate the programmed mode by pressing
OK several times (see paragraph 4.2)
• The unit will now run the program, switching between modes (economy
/comfort ) as you
have requested.
• To deactivate the program mode, press OK again to run simple comfort mode (

economy mode (

5.3 If a fault is displayed
5.3.1 Type of fault
In any event, the control terminal displays information in the format "type dx.x" (where x.x is
a numerical value); the pump has detected a fault. First, call your installer and give them the
fault code. While waiting for the installer, it is still possible to clear the fault and resume normal
operation (until the fault recurs).

5.3.2 Clearing a fault
If the fault is temporary (display flashing), the fault will be cleared automatically when the cause
disappears.
If the fault is permanent (display fixed), the fault must be cleared manually by positioning the dial
to the Off position:
then pressing and holding the OK button for 3 seconds.
IMPORTANT: The heat pump may switch to safety mode (off) to prevent damage to the
system. Inform your installer immediately.
5.4 Frost protection mode (unoccupied mode)
If you are away from home for a short period you do not need to switch off your heating. Switch
the unit to economy mode (
) so that the heat pump need not be overworked on your return (it
is hard to raise the temperature) (see chapter 3)
If you are away from home for several days, switch the unit to frost protection mode by selecting the
corresponding position
(ensuring that P6 is at 0 so that the auxiliary units are not authorised).
In this case, the air temperature can be regulated from 5 to 15°C according to the setpoint
displayed. It is however important not to drop the temperature too low to make it easier to raise
the temperature again.
IMPORTANT: The heat pump should not be switched off (off mode or circuit breaker) while
you are away if the installation does not contain glycol (anti-freeze). If you do so, the installation
may freeze and the heat pump could be damaged.
6. MAINTENANCE
To ensure that your unit enjoys trouble-free operation for many years, you can carry out the
following operations yourself. These must be carried out before each heating season alongside
the professional maintenance (maintenance of the unit's refrigerant fluid and electrics).
6.1 Checking the volume of water
• When cold, check the pressure gauge displays a pressure of approximately 1.5 bar. If it is
necessary to fill and repressurise the unit, check which type of fluid was originally used. If in
doubt, contact your installer.
6.2 Cleaning the filters
• Your installation is fitted with hydraulic filter(s) on the water return. This cleaning operation must
be carried out at least once a year.
6.3 Unseizing the valves
Your installation is fitted with valves, which must be unseized at least once a year. To do this,
open and close them once or twice then return them to their original position.
6.4 At the end of the heating season
Do not use the circuit breaker to switch off the heat pump
as it is programmed to release its
own accelerator pump
automatically. Set the dial to off mode.
