This bulletin involves the replacement of the EEM and programming the EEM to the transmitters for the 1998 model year. The 1996 to 1997 model yearvehicle repair involves installing a kit that contains two preset transmitters, EEM and external antenna.
1996 MY Vipers
1. Remove the driver's side knee blocker.
2. Remove the strap holding the EEM in the bracket below the dash.
3. Disconnect the EEM and remove.
4. At the EEM harness connector, remove the terminal wedge.
5. Remove terminal "D" from the green connector and tape it back onto the harness.
6. Install the antenna coax ground into cavity "D" of the green connector.
7. From the antenna, install the coax center lead into cavity "E" of the green connector.
8. Route the antenna cable rearward in the vehicle under the center console cover and tape in place.
9. Connect the new EEM and secure in the bracket with the strap.
10. Install the knee blocker.

Test both transmitters for proper function. The EEM in the kit is already programmed to both transmitters. The customers old transmitters shouldbe disposed of as they will not work with the new EEM.
1997 MY Vipers
1. Remove the driver's side knee blocker.
2. Remove the strap holding the EEM in the bracket below the dash.
3. Disconnect the EEM and remove.
4. Discard the external antenna included with the kit. The 1997 MY Viper already has one installed.
5. Connect the new EEM and secure in the bracket with the strap.
6. Install the knee blocker.

Test both transmitters for proper function. The EEM in the kit is already programmed to both transmitters. The customers old transmitters shouldbe disposed of as they will not work with the new EEM.
1998 MY Vipers
1. Remove the driver's side knee blocker.
2. Remove the strap holding the EEM in the bracket below the dash.
3. Disconnect the EEM and remove.
