With the foam cushion in the upright position, route the wires attached to the new heating elements through the hole in the foam seatcushion. Bond the new heating element onto the top of the foam as shown in Figure 5.
:CAUTION
During the installation of the new heating element, be careful not to fold or crease the element assembly.
:NOTE

There are two seat heater elements in each repair kit. Use the one marked "CUSHION" for the seat cushion (Figure 5).
:NOTE
The paper backing on each heating element has a release slot cut into it to ease backing removal. The slot is located next to the white tape thatsecures the wires to the heating element.
f. Install the seat foam back into the seat cushion cover.

g. Install the new wiring harness and seat heater module onto the metal seat cushion pan as shown in Figure 6 or 7. h.
Install the metal seat cushion pan onto the seat cushion foam and secure the seat cover to the pan by engaging the plastic J-strip retainersalong the rear, front and both sides of the seat cushion.
i. Set the seat cushion aside for later installation.
17. If equipped, remove the lumbar support lever from the side of the seatback.
18. Remove the arm rest screw cover and remove the screw that attaches the arm rest to the seatback.
19. If the seatback cover is being replaced because of holes or discoloration: a. Remove the seatback grab handle. b. Remove the headrest and head rest tubes.

c. Completely remove and discard the seatback cover.
Page 78
20. If the seatback is not being replaced, flip the seatback cover up, so that the cover is inside out and 3/4 of the seatback cushion foam is exposed(Figure 8).
:CAUTION
Use extreme care when removing the seat cover from the seatback foam. The hook and loop strip that holds the seat cover to the seatback foamtrench could rip loose from the foam before the fasteners separates (Figure 8). Wedge a plastic trim stick between the two sides of the hookand loop strips to disengage the strips. Pulling on one side of the strip without holding the other side will pull the strip off the foam before thetwo pieces separate. Should the hook and loop fastener separate from the foam, use P/N 04773774 adhesive or equivalent to bond the striponto the seat foam.
21. Cut off and discard all the old wires that are attached to the inside of the seatback cover (Figure 8). Make the cuts as close as possible to the coversurface.

22. Bond the new seatback heater elements to the seatback foam as shown in Figure 9.
:CAUTION
During the installation of the new heating elements, be careful not to fold or crease the element assemblies.
:NOTE
There are two seat heater elements in each repair kit. Use the one marked "BACK" for the seatback (Figure 9).
:NOTE
The paper backing on each heating element has a release slot cut into it to ease backing removal. The slot is located next to the white tape thatsecures the wires to the heating element.
23. Carefully pull the seatback cover over the seatback foam and new seatback heating elements. Secure the cover by engaging the J-strip retainers.
24. Install the arm rest onto the seatback. Tighten the screw securely and install the screw cover.
25. If removed, install the seatback grab handle, headrest tubes and headrest.
26. If equipped, install the lumbar support lever from the seatback.
27. Install the seat cushion assembly into position on the seat track.
28. Install the four (4) seat cushion pan mounting bolts and tighten them to 252 in.lbs. (28 N.m).

32. With the help of an assistant, place each of the seats into the vehicle and connect the seat harness connector to the vehicle harness (Figure 10).
33. Lift the vehicle on a hoist.
34. Install the four (4) seat retaining nuts onto the seat mounting studs for each seat. Tighten the nuts to 44 ft. lbs. (60 N.m) (Figure 1).
35. Lower the vehicle from the hoist.
36. Connect the negative battery cable.
37. Verify that the seat adjusters and seat heaters are functioning properly.

Seat Heater Control Module: Description and Operation
(HSCM)
The Heated Seat Control Module is an electronic thermostatic module designed to operate the electric seat heater elements. Two modules areused in the vehicle, one for each front seat. The HSCM for each seat is installed on front portion of each cushion pan. The wire harness connector issecured by an integral clip to the inside surface of the outboard seat cushion frame.
Inputs to the module include the resistor multiplexed seat switch signal (which includes the seat cushion temperature sensor circuits), an ignition.switched battery feed, a non-switched battery feed, and a ground. The only HSCM output is the feed for the seat heating elements. The HSCM cannot be repaired and, if faulty or damaged, it must be replaced.

Seat Heater Control Module: Testing and Inspection
Before testing the heated seat control module, test the heated seat switch, the heated seat elements, and the heated seat sensor as described. If testing ofthe heated seat switch, elements, and sensor reveals no problems, proceed as follows.
1. Replace the heated seat control module with a known good unit and test the operation of the heated seats. If OK, discard the faulty heated seat control module. If not OK, go to Step 2.
2. Test each of the circuits from the heated seat switch, heated seat elements, and heated seat sensor to the heated seat control module. Repair any short or open circuits as required.

Controller Antilock Brake: Service and Repair REMOVAL
NOTE:
To replace the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) or the Controller Antilock Brake (CAB) on this vehicle, the entire Integrated Control Unit(ICU) needs to be removed from the vehicle. The CAB can then be separated from the HCU. Do not attempt to replace the CAB with the ICUmounted in the vehicle.
1. Remove the ICU from the vehicle. Refer to Integrated Control Unit, Service and Repair, Removal and Installation.
Pump/Motor To CAB Wiring Harness
2. Disconnect the pump/motor wiring harness from the CAB.
CAB Attaching Bolts
3. Remove the 4 bolts attaching the CAB to the HCU.
